  1. AC Milan didn't appeal to me after all and I decided that I'd go back to how I really got into FM, by starting a game in January and taking over the team at the bottom of the Premiership. I got Bolton and it's been tough so far. Two of our three wins have been in the FA Cup over Yeovil and Barnsley, with the lone win in the league being a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough. We've not done too badly but a lack of depth has killed us in the first few weeks of me taking over. I've added 3 new signings to the midfield and its looking better as we head into the next game against Tottenham and we're 6 points off survival, it's not going to be easy. I suppose it didn't help that we had Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd in quick succession of each other...
  2. I've started to find my full backs tuck in behind my centre backs when we're on the defensive, leaving huge amounts of room out wide for a player to have a crack at goal... I've never had this before, but it's frustrating to see it. Also, they suddenly seem sluggish and unresponsive to loose balls, even Micah Richards, for all his acceleration and pace, takes his sweet time chasing a long ball forward as strikers and wingers quickly close him down.
  3. I suppose I have a few, but off the top of my head I can only remember two. For Metallica, it'd likely be St. Anger, which I really like. I've never met anybody that likes it as much as I do, but I have a thing for songs that speed up and down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abby9vrAylA Another that I can think of is Queens of the Stone Age. Whilst the majority of people I'm sure would love their Songs For The Deaf album with "No One Knows" and "Go With The Flow," I prefer the Lullabies to Paralyse album and my favourite song on it, and from my entire Stone's collection, would be Someone's In The Wolf.
  4. Do you constantly bug your board for a stadium expansion? It's the only way to get a bigger stadium I believe. Plus you need to be a financially stable club, but you did mention that your team would be one of the richer sides.
  5. I've decided that my Journeyman career is now annoying, considering I nearly always ended up in Sweden managing an amateur or semi-professional side, then quitting like a month or two after that out of frustration of the wage budget or wanting to move on to bigger things. Ended up in Northern Ireland and that looks like it could be interesting, but Sweden has taken a lot of my patience to withstand. I'm just going to play as AC Milan and try to rebuild them whilst still being successful. Not too much of a challenge but I want to get a true feel for the game with a big team since it still confuses me. Plus I want to see if a nice, slow passing game will succeed.
  6. Pretty much like Neil Roberts used to do, excellent player and I've no doubt Taylor will help our young guys out. Marc Williams will probably benefit from playing alongside him, he was a legend last season scoring around 15 goals for us in just a few games until he went out with a broken foot. I'm just worried about our backline now, we've been shaky for the past... 2-3 years at least in defence, and it doesn't help when we keep losing any possible solutions to the problem, plus a young goalkeeper wouldn't hurt to have, we like our veterans in goal too much All in all, unless Saunders pulls out a few amazing coups in the market, we aren't heading up the league anytime soon.
  7. Majority of these are downloads... AC/DC - 16 Aerosmith - 17 Alter Bridge - 3 Atreyu - 4 Audioslave - 3 Avenged Sevenfold - 6 (ncluding the EP and the Diamonds in the Rough) B.R.M.C. - 4 Bowling For Soup - 6 Bruce Springsteen - 17 Disturbed - 4 Foo Fighters - 8 Franz Ferdinand - 3 The Jimi Hendrix Experience - 3 Led Zeppelin - 10 Linkin Park - 3 Metallica - 10 Queens of the Stone Age - 4 The Rolling Stones - 27 Saliva - 6 Slipknot - 4 Velvet Revolver - 3 (including the EP) I have a few on 2 albums; Paramore, The Clash, Bullet For My Valentine, Black Stone Cherry... I think that's it. Unfortunately I just realised my girlfriend has continued to contaminate my playlist with Metro Station and McFLY...
  8. I just read about it now, it hadn't been reported in the local paper so I assumed he was still thinking it over. Seems a big step in the wrong direction for him considering Wrexham's facilities, players and staff who could easily get the best out of him again. Nothing against Leigh, just feel it was a strange decision beyond playing for a former teammate. Apparently he's looking to do some coaching, he'll likely turn to management in the future then. Anyway, we have Gareth Taylor and I think having Jansen would have been pushing out our up and coming young strikers in Marc Williams and Obi... something...
  9. Not the only one following Wrexham... Anyway, last I checked Matt Jansen was mulling over some contract offers he was getting after playing like... 2-3 games for Wrexham. Might sign for us. Whoever he goes to though will gain a player who will spend 90% of the season injured and probably depressed.
  10. VR are continuing on, they're looking for a new lead singer and are apparently "in talks with a big name". McKagan says they're writing new material after being inspired by the split with Weiland, and Slash is doing some solo stuff to waste time until the new singer is chosen I presume.
  11. Listened to the Chinese Democracy single a few times now, all I can think of is that it seems Axl was really writing it half-arsed, lyrics just seem to lack any real passion. It also sounds remarkably like a Velvet Revolver song, that's both mine and my girlfriend's view, hell, she doesn't even like VR but she instantly thought that Axl was trying to be Scott Weiland. Not sure if anybody else has heard the link between the two, but still... 13 years for that?
  12. Thomas the Tank... I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that, I hate the new stuff though, too inconsistant with character's and their... character's... Why would Edward act like a dick to to a crane? WHY?! Fairly Odd Parents is amazing, I can watch it and just little random lines from Cosmo make me laugh and laugh for ages. Maybe the first series of the Basil Brush show when it returned, that was silly, the jokes were bad, but hell it's still good. That's all I can really think of, I guess Pokemon could be thrown in there though, it has a special place in my heart.
  13. I found out this little weird thing in the game, that people oversell being hit with a cup whilst they're sat down. Seriously, get the cup from the Hove Beach safehouse and throw it at somebody sat at a nearby bench and the way they react is hilarious. Or maybe it's just me...
  14. The Contender (I think that's the name) is a hell of a vehicle, it has some real speed when you hit the open road and it plows through anything in front of it, I've turned over a ton of cars with it and it still kept going. *dreams of the blood-stained grill*
  15. I accidently tipped a cop car on its side and never got chased for it. But I was chased for repeatedly hitting my car with a baseball bat... twice. Oh yeah, the tipping of a cop car incident was sort of not my fault, except for the fact I was speeding towards a junction when a cop car came out of nowhere and basically used the hood of my car as a ramp as it tipped over... I sped away from the scene asap and was scared of cops tracking me down for like 5 minutes.
  16. ... Want some ice cream for that depression?
  17. Why do you say that? I believe he is thanking me for helping him fix his problem. Glad it worked, by the way. Oh, my bad. I didn't realise anybody here was named Arsenal.
  18. Recently I've been stuck in a little bubble of Metal/Alternative/Hard Rock, that kind of stuff and since I love almost all kinds of music (I have Mika on my iPod... ) I want to stretch my boundaries a little. Here's my current favourite bands to help give people the general idea of the kind of music I'm into: Avenged Sevenfold Velvet Revolver Queens of the Stone Age Rock Kills Kid Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Metallica It's a really mixed kind of list, but the only types of music I can't listen to are: Dance/Techno and Emoy shit. Cheers in advance to anybody willing to suggest anything.
  19. So, the end of the season came for TNS, finished 2nd and in the Euro Cup, lost both finals to Llanelli, and the Cardiff job came up, I applied and the TNS fans and board were calling for my head so I resigned, Cardiff turned me down, here's a list of just a few clubs to turn me down: Motherwell Fiorentina Getafe Arsenal Then eventually I declared interest in the QPR job as they were recently relegated to League 1, and immediately I got the job and I'm now back in England looking to take QPR into the Championship and beyond. 3 clubs in 3 seasons thus far, this is going well...
  20. I HATE Llanelli. Twice they've beaten me in the league, 5-0 and 6-0, both times we were on good form, yet they just breeze past us. We're second in the league and they're first, the gap was just on goal difference at one point but its widened to 6 points after we lost to them and Airbus. Now we have them in the finals of the Welsh Cup and the Welsh Challenge Cup, our chances of getting any silverware this year have decreased, and Llanelli are in the finals of all 3 cups and are top of the league. We clearly have a stronger team, yet they always breeze past us in matches.
  21. So somehow my Man Utd team managed to turn the season around and went another 20+ games unbeaten to secure the league by 21 points above Arsenal, we also got the FA Cup in a 2-1 win over Portsmouth thanks to a late comeback and a last minute goal from Tevez. We were knocked out of Europe in the first Knockout Round by Sevilla 2-1 on aggregate. Next year the plan is to retain the Premiership but also perform much better in Europe. Ronaldo finished the season on 41 goals in 49 games in all competitions, hopefully he'll continue that form next year. Now the problem is I have 4 wonderkid CBs in Pique, Breno, Sidnei and Evans, plus Ferdinand, Brown and Vidic. I want to start rotating my CBs this year and hopefully will send out Evans on loan and maybe sell Brown, I still have O'Shea so the RB position is covered well. Sidnei might go out on loan too since I see potential in him but he needs first team experience, Pique spent half of last season at Newcastle who managed to get a Champions League place, so he's obviously proved he's a capable player in the Premiership. Its giving me a headache but I have preseason coming up so I'll try out different partnerships and see how they all fare.
  22. This game has just pissed me off so much. I started a game as Man Utd for the sheer easiness of it, we went 22 games unbeaten, then lost 2-0 to Arsenal, fair enough I thought seeing how its Arsenal, then the next game we lose to Spurs 1-0 and slowly my anger is setting in, we then beat Werder 3-0 and I thought that the little phase was over, but the next game we lose 1-0 to Villa. Thank God we beat West Ham, but we have a 12 point gap at the top at the half way stage and I swear we're going to throw it away. Plus, Ronaldo and Vidic want to leave for the Milan's, despite the club is doing so well in the league and in Europe, plus Ronaldo is my top scorer with 29 goals in 26 games. I just don't see the point in moving to a club when you're in the form of your life and stand a good chance of getting both the Premiership and Champions League titles.
  23. I understand the win at home, lose away system all too well. Whenever we play away we dominate but can't score, but at home we score for fun. I feel like running onto the pitch and beating down my strikes into a grave on the pitch everytime they miss.
