  1. Mmmm Ben Ainslie won the Sailing Finn class by miiiiiiles. Fantastic! We're certainly on the up! Second sailing gold medal and hopeful ly another coming in the next couple of hours if our pair can finish four ahead of the Americans...
  2. Heh heh I realised that as I put it in my sig. Anyways tough, I want it in there, makes me proud! hehehehehehehe
  3. The Village 9/10 A beautifully crafted film that plays at everything you'd want. Phoenix, Howard and Brody are all superb and are supported well by the supporting cast. All the usual hype about the Shyamalan "swerves" plays in the back of your head, making you second guess yourself and ultimately makes a very good film great. Worth seeing but if anyone talks to you about it beforehand, put your fingers in your ears and hum. Gosford Park 9.5/10 To come back from the cinema and follow one great film up with another made me a happy bunny. Gosford Park is wonderfully made, a period (1930s) drama set in an English stately home, with an incredible cast (including Maggie Smith, Derek Jacobi, Clive Owen, Richard E Grant...) in fact all the usual British acting crowd. The first half of the film is an exploration of "Upper Class" lifestyle intertwined with the "Servant" lifestyle of their staff. Very very funny, though might not be to everyones taste as it can be quite dry and subtle...In fact as one of the three American characters (who are looked down on by the British characters) says to one of the maids at the end "You British never seem to laugh do you?" to which she replies " We do, but only if it's something we find funny". That sums it all up really. The second half of the film wanders into murder mystery category, with a real sense of whodunnit, as Stephen Fry's bumbling detective tries to solve the mystery. Gosford Park is a masterclass in acting, directing and cinema. An instant classic. Clive Owen is beyond great, Richard E Grant pulls out a lovely understated performance and Maggie Smith is at times hilarious. The second time I've seen it and remembering parts of the plot as it unfolded gave me a warm fuzzy filmlovers feeling. Superb.
  4. SPOILER FOR CANADIANS.... MATTHEW MATTHEW PINSENT! MATTHEW MATTHEW PINSENT! Woooooo hoooooooo! Lush lush lush! Well worth getting up at 8:30am on a saturday to watch....4 Mens Coxless fours, Great Britain Olympics Champions AGAIN. 8 hundreths of a second after 2000 metres! Really emotional, I nearly cried, and when they stood for the medals ceremony and he was crying with all the emotion after winning his fourth Olympic rowing medal in a row and then the national anthem started and the whole 'staidum' erupted into "God Save The Queen" like a football match or something it was incredible. Best moment of the Games so far. I love the Olympics.
  5. Well well well looks like our 17 year old boxer Amir Khan is eclipsing pretty much every one else in the boxing. Just mullered the European Champion ten years his senior by 16 points. Definitely THE young talent of the Olympics.
  6. Someone said to me yesterday that overall medal tally should be divided by the number of people there are in that country. That, I think, would make Australia the best country pretty much every Olympics. Good on them, gotta love their attitude. Anyway y'know, think about it, USA, Russia, China and Japan are always gonna do the best cos of the sheer weight of numbers! Britain need to start pumping money into athletics again, afterall apparantly we HAVE won the second most medals in the history of the modern olympics. Which is rather mind boggling for all 60 million of us.
  7. Korkina owned and her marks just didn't count up with what she deserved... Though I tell ya, the judging at these Olympics has been awful. We've had a medal upgraded AGAIN today because they didn't add the penalty points to the time of the French Kayaker. Stupid.
  8. total stressful. I thought Robertson and Emms were gonna do it then but at least the Chinese had to resort to cheating and gamesmanship and whinging at the ref and line judge to win. A gold in the sailing makes me happy and we should get two more unless the Americans ram into one of our sailing teams in the final to push them to the back which apparantly they've been known to do before. EDIT: Oh yeah, and I can't believe the line judge changed his mind cos of the Chinese fella whinging at him. Grow some balls man and stick with your call.
  9. Nah, Britain are gonna win the coxless fours rowing.... Anyways: Medal Table according to the BBC updated in the last five minutes: 1. CHINA: 11G, 7S, 4B 2. USA: 10G, 10S, 9B 3. JAPAN: 8G, 3S, 2B 4. AUSTRALIA: 6G, 4S, 6B 5. UKRAINE: 5G, 1S, 1B Official tables are based upon the number of gold medals, not total medals. Britain would be about ten places higher if it was just number of medals but we're behind people with just one gold compared to our six medals. Still, that's the way it works so can't complain!
  10. Mwahahahaha China still top of the medal table, Japan third....Good good goood......GB back in like 2 5th right now but a couple of golds today like we should do and we'll be top ten...And the three sailing and we'll be fifth.
  11. Wooomph total badminton mixed doubles ownage! Gold or silver and we've clearly got the sexiest mixed doubles team. Our best day so far though it's still pretty average, just a few bronzes but meh, getting better bit by bit.
  12. One day left to give me your top actors / actresses then the countdown BEGINS! Mwahahahahahahaha Or something.
  13. The handheld Playstation is total ownage though and will much on the Gameboy Advance until it bleeds. BLEEEEDS I TELLS YA!
  14. Wasn't the Playstation always kinda called PSX? The whole PSX thing has been going on since the birth of Playstation. I'd imagine it'll just be PS3 like some kind of sequel. I personally think such things should blend as much as possible in with your DVD / video / stereo under your tv, that's what the PS2 was about and I'm sure I've heard Sony say that's what they strive for.
  15. LEN! STEAL MY SUNSHINE! happyhappyhappyhappyhapppyhjapyhaoyhaoyhapy
  16. I would imagine that picture of 'heeling' the ball is actually the ball running past the player in a through-ball stylee. Still the game is looking great so far but lets be fair, there's never any doubt.
  17. 1. Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2) 2. Pro Evolution Soccer 3 (PS2) 3. Way Of The Samurai 2 (PS2) 4. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (PS2) 5. Metal Gear Solid (PS) 6. Athens 2004 (PS2) 7. Resident Evil 3 (PS) 8. Soul Blade (PS) 9. EyeToy (PS2) 10. Mortal Kombat 2 (Various) No PC games included cos it's VIDEO GAMES!
  18. Oh and Japan winning mens gymnastics owned totally. WHOOO! I celebrated!
  19. Another c ouple of days and I'll run the list, though at the moment a top 30 would work better, so keep bringing in the votes!
  20. Meh in Britain today we got lousy DRESSAGE in the horses for some of the time. Yawn. Our Brit beating your blue eyed American swimmer in the semis of the butterfly was day highlight though, and Ben Ainslie leading his sailing category even though he got disqualified in one race... An amusing day overall.
  21. Winners in bold. Supreme (Image) vs. Superman (DC) Deadpool (Marvel) vs. Batman (DC) The Punisher (Marvel) vs. Deathstroke (DC) Green Lantern (DC) vs. Silver Surfer (Marvel) The Silver Surfer has the best backstory evah, self-sacrificing and surfs through space. That's lush. Fave hero. Static (Milestone) vs. Electro (Marvel) Wonder Woman (DC) vs. Phoenix (Marvel) Spider-Man (Marvel) vs. Invincible (Image) Venom (Marvel) vs. Bane (DC) Aqua Man (DC) vs. Namor The Sub-Mariner (Marvel)
  22. The other way in is through the kitchens. Go to the delivery van by the side gate, get the delivery boy, dress up, take the box and wander into the kitchen. There's a knife and stuff in the kitchen and I think it's a better position to start yoru sweep of the house.
  23. Gary Doherty... *shudders* Things are getting worse and worse....Although.... Robinson Davis Mendes Defoe All signing in the last year makes me happy. And now Kelly can get a chance at right back. He's Irish U21 right back so is following in Carr's shoes...Hopefully he'll prove to be even better, though Carr is a legend. gah.
  24. My wife works with a guy who's a really big Laurel and Hardy fan and goes to their big yearly event in England (at Stan Laurel's birthplace). Yeah apparantly rather than dubbing their sketches they remade them into each different language including refilming everything so that their mouths were moving at the right time and physically everything was in line. Shame about their accents but I tell ya, at least they made an effort!
