(trivia fans eat your heart out!)
  8. Techno-wise look for anything remixed by Dave Clarke who is perhaps the best techno DJ working today. Aphex Twin has done some decent techno-ey noise in the past. I can't see the link between techno and rap (as I quite like techno but hate rap) but I'm sure there must be a link somewhere. Add N To (X) isn't strictly techno, the bpm is too low, I would say Add N To (X) were IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) or pushing into Avant Garde Electro. Techno has to have a very high bpm, faster than trance and hard house and pretty much pushing it with quick dnb.
  9. Here we go. The top 50. Counting down from 50 to 1, including a handful of their best films just so you can go "Oh yeah, they were in THAT!" Lets get started: 50: Deborah Kerr Julius Caesar (1953) - Portia The King And I (1956) - Anna Leonowens Tea And Sympathy (1956) - Laura Reynolds 52 acting credits from 1940-1986 49: Clint Eastwood A Fistful Of Dollars (1967) - Joe Dirty Harry (1971) - 'Dirty' Harry Callahan The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) - Josey Wales 58 acting credits from 1955-2005 48: Yul Brynner The King And I (1956) - King Mongkut of Siam The Magnificent Seven (1960) - Chris Adams Kings Of The Sun (1963) - Chief Black Eagle 48 acting credits from 1944-1980 47: Julie Andrews Mary Poppins (1964) - Mary Poppins The Sound Of Music (1965) - Maria von Trapp Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967) - Millie Dillmount 34 acting credits from 1949-2004 46: Humphrey Bogart Angels With Dirty Faces (1938) - James Frazier The Maltese Falcon (1941) - Sam Spade Casablanca (1942) - Rick Blaine 75 acting credits from 1920-1956 (Now that's prolific! More than two films a year!) Coming up: Five actors, one touted as one of the greatest ever, one called as one of the best of this generation, a modern comic, a man who's starred as Schindler and alongside Jar Jar Binks, and an Easy Rider.
  10. Breakfast At Tiffanys 8.5/10 Amusing film, some funny and strange moments. Hepburn is goregousness on gorgeous legs (with a stunning figure) and George Peppard stars in the film! (Hannibal from the A-Team) which I'd never realised before. On the whole, not quite worth the hype surrounding it for years but a great film nonetheless, glad I watched it.
  11. In a way I think these younger signings are better than all these big names being thrown around, who are all getting old and who'll be mercenaries just looking for a paycheck and somewhere to play for a year or two. Though Davids or Nakata would be great for centre midfield. Anyway I think the Spurs squad is getting deeper and deeper all the time, really good at the moment and at this rate a top six finish really is possible. We'll have to wait and see though. And who's this nobody that turned down going to Arsenal anyways?! I kinda had to chuckle at that this morning.
  12. Stopping the clock would be a horrible idea. Ninety minutes, 45 each way. No stopping and starting. Think about it. Football and rugby are pretty flowing while US football and basketball are stop start stop start. Stopping for when the ball is out of play really is an American invention and it's not as natural as continuous timing. Anyway in league matches there are plenty of ball boys ready to throw another ball back to the players when the ball goes out of play.
  13. It was that Irish nutjob dude who ran onto the track at the British Grand Prix. Absolutely disgraceful! The Brazilian was running well and clearly lost the gold cos of being attacked. And Jon Brown finished fourth for the second olympics in a row! Gutting!
  14. mwahahahaha no need to pity us arse-boys. things ar elooking sweet down the lane at the moment.
  15. What a great evening! Kelly Holmes owned again and we're now the fa stest sprint team in the world! Always sweeter beating the Americans...especially when they're favourites! Woomph!

  17. Kelly Holmes. 800 metres Olympic Champion! OH YES! Amazing race, great finish and totally skinned Mutola down the final straight.
  18. 10,000m at a sports day?! Your school is hardcore man. We went up to 1500, I guess cos no-one would've been bothered running further heh.
  19. The Red Dwarf books ARE incredibly amusing. Brought me kicking and screaming through my teenage years. Books with great twists: "A Wild Sheep Chase" - Haruki Murakami "Dance Dance Dance" - Haruki Murakami "Hard Boiled Wonderland And The End Of The World" - Haruki Murakami (Amazing book) "The Trial" - Franz Kafka "Battle Royale" - Koushun Takami "My Idea Of Fun" - Will Self "Survivor" - Chuck Palahniuk "Choke" - Chuck Palahniuk "White Noise" - Don DeLillo Just a few to look into
  20. Cos we need a thread as there's a million of us Spurs fans on EWB. A decent start to the season, and Carrick is a decent signing I think. Th ings are looking up at the moment. If we can go away to West Brom tomorrow and do the job I'll feel better - those are the sort of games we should be winning. Oh and NINJA STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!
  21. Paula Radcliffe isn't injured. Sixteen athletes dropped out and our two other runners completed the marathon in the same conditions in 25th and 29th including one woman who's nearly 40 and got to the Plympics after being a nobody who did well in the London Marathon. In my opinion, Paula didn't take the heat into account when planning her tactics, it was bad tactics from her, you can't go galloping off at the beginning unless you're used to the heat. She should have taken in more water. Her core temperature rose too high and she had to stop. The medical team have said there's nothing medically wrong with her so no injuries. She may well compete in the 10,000 but shouldn't if it's just a knee-jerk reaction. Kelly Sotherton was great and Dean Macey is looking good for a top five and possible medal. And Kelly Holmes should get at LEAST a silver in the 800 tonight.
  22. What the hell's soccer?! Oh you mean FOOTBALL Not being American I've never seen any of the talk shows, any of the sports programmes, one of the comedies, Bernie Mac is awful, the films are a shocking choice (Where are The Village, Zatoichi, Last Samurai, Eternal Sunshine, Kill Bill 2 for starters?!) And Labour has a U in it!
  23. Wooomph! Another gold for track cycling. Bradley Wiggins caned the Aussie in the final of the 4km pursuit. Nice work fella!
  24. Sycod...We all know the US will win the most medals, they always do, and good for ya! It gives us someone to cheer AGAINST! heh heh
  25. nice. New Zealand and their horse rider woman have had those penalty points added so we're now team silver medallists and Leslie Law has individual gold! Nice! Another gold for us, post dated...
