  1. At least it's not like the Miami Heat, who have only 2 retired numbers, neither of which played for the team, and one of which didn't even play basketball! #23 for Michael Jordan #13 for Dan Marino
  2. Sorry to bump this after 3+ months, but has anyone had problems with the game freezing, or other games freezing after playing Saints Row? I cleared the cache, and that seems to have worked, but it was the first time any continuous freezing has happened.
  3. Well, I've found 2K9 more enjoyable so far. Have yet to play against the computer on it, but against someone 2K9 has been more fun.
  4. How does one play defense? I am on pro and the other team always seems faster.
  5. Co-op for me seems to work great. I am the one usually hosting my friend, and you're able to bring in the money & support items from his game to yours (so you don't lose out on what you've done). And since you can join/leave at any point, the story is largely unchanged. You don't have to be on the same screen either, though there is a radius on the map you have to stay within. As for the money made in co-op, you both get the full amount (so if a contract was for $300k, you both get $300k). The only thing the person you are hosting doesn't get is the money from the wagers you place on the skill challenges. But they are able to take advantage of things you have unlocked in your shops.
  6. This is by far the most fun I've had with a game in a LONG time (yes, that includes GTA IV). I've gone close to 50 hours and only completed about half the story. I've spent more time running around blowing stuff up and verifying targets. And the incident you describe of the cement block killing you isn't a glitch. Stuff that gets blown up my land on you and your health takes a hit. The only glitch I've heard of (never experienced it) is that the other person in co-op sees you running/swimming, but your limbs are not moving, so it's like you're gliding. If that happens though, you can just have them exit and come back, since they can pop in at any time.
  7. Campbell is not a good QB. The best thing that happened to them last year was he got hurt, and the back up got them to the playoffs. And on the Jim Zorn being inept at calling the game front, Cam Cameron & Jim Zorn have never been seen together...something to think about.
  8. I'm pretty sure this stint won't affect his arbitration status. EDIT - Just did some research. Didn't affect A-Rod among others. EDIT 2 - And in a game that can clinch them their first winning season ever, the Rays fill half the stadium. That's really puzzling and I guess it says something about their location. I mean, even when the Marlins were on track to win their division they were filling the entire place up at times and yet nobody seems to give a damn in Tampa. I'm not sure that's accurate. So far this season they're averaging about 16,000 per game, well below what the stadium holds. In fact, they are averaging more people now they in 03 when they won the World Series (through less games, so probably the WS year will get more people in the end). To clarify, the 03 season they averaged just under 16,100. Their 97 season (another WS year) they averaged almost 30,000. Their opening season they averaged 37,000, something they only got close to their second year. And of course there was yesterday's reported attendance of around 600, which apparently made the front page of Yahoo Sports.
  9. If only the labrum was in the voice box and not in the shoulder, we would all be spared Johnson's antics.
  10. What is Sims Stories Castaway? Is it a stand-alone version or an EP?
  11. Out of curiosity, since I haven't played it in a while. Say you have two guys (or two girls) living in a house. One of them falls in love, and she proposes, that person moves in correct? (I remember when I played that whomever proposed, that's whose house they'd live in...then again, it was always the guy proposing). Anyway, does the other person (the other girl or guy) have to move out? Or does it become a 3 person home? If that's possible, I'll try to work something where the woman supports him while he hooks up with the roommate as well (or the guy supports her while she hooks up with his roommate). I'd like to see how long I can keep that going before the other person finds out.
  12. Wait, 296 COMBINED? Yikes. Who are you using? The Falcons? The Dolphins?
  13. Well, I finally played my first online game. Pretty close all game. Minor lag, mostly noticeable on kicks. Lost when they punted the ball to me, I called for the fair catch (he waved his hands) but didn't recognize it, got hit, fumbled and he returned it. Ended up losing by 3.

    Adam Sandler

A better serious movie for Carrey would be The Truman Show & The Majestic. As for Robin Williams, I absolutely abhor any role in which he is trying to be funny. I prefer him Good Will Hunting, One Hour Photo, and other dramas. More on topic, I've enjoyed everything I've seen from Sandler, but especially his later work (post 2000) where he shows more range.
  15. If anyone's online, I'd be up for a game. I should be on for the next few hours. XBox gamertag same as name here.
  16. I believe he was on First Take on Monday, talking nonsense with Skip Bayless or Woody Paige. And I remember seeing an interview he did with Troy Smith some time after Smith won the Heisman. Coach is pretty good when given serious material.
  17. Well, I'm currently stuck on the Arizona vs Atlanta Madden Moment. Had gotten the TD once, but they marched down the field for a TD with 1 second left. And I thought the Browns vs Ravens moment was frustrating.
  18. Anyone with the collector's edition - is Head Coach really worth it, along with the extra content? Or should I just stick with the regular one? Also, are you able to re-align the conferences (to make them more geographic, or set them up as East/West)
  19. Three characters you should definitely try: Daredevil Ghost Rider Silver Surfer Thor and the Human Torch are also pretty good. Thing makes a good substitute if you get tired of Luke Cage. Elektra is about the only character I don't like playing as (I have the PS2 version), and I don't recommend using Nick Fury unless you actually play as him. After beating it on Medium, going through again with Thor, Ghost Rider, Blade & Dr Strange (I forget what the power up is for that team). But Ghost Rider is great, especially if he can resurrect allies. One of the few games that I haven't gotten rid of. I think for me it's that one The Godfather.
  20. Can you realign the conferences?
  21. Name: Jorge Gamertag: CQI13 Team requested: LSU Tigers (SEC), Ohio St (Big 10), or USC (Pac10)

Ok, I don't get this... I have an XBox Live Gold Membership and signed up with the EA servers (so I'm listening to the ESPN stuff on the menu). Yet, every game I play with the Weather Channel Forecast is 75 degrees, partly cloudy. And while I can upload rosters to the EA Locker, it says that an XBox Live Membership restriction blocks me from downloading them...what gives?
  23. National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets Finished it last night. Entertaining movie, very similar to the first. Car chase sequence was pretty neat. Can't believe they didn't realize the cell phone was tapped though.
  24. What's never touched on is that Democrats would have probably done the same thing if they had been leading by a few hundred votes and controlled Florida. I did recently see again Mr. 3000 with Bernie Mac. I thought it was funny, especially the training scenes when he first gets back. And it's a pretty good commentary on the modern athlete putting themselves ahead of the team. All in all, very enjoyable.
  25. Gold Edition and from Live both give you the characters and extra achievements. And unlike the other characters, costumes are unlocked simply by killing enemies. For the regular ones, you get 2 costumes for killing enemies, and the third one you get from doing their simulation disc.
