  1. Awesome! The Nats force a Game 5 with a Jayson Werth walk-off! It always amazes me how much he looks like Edge.
  2. That was one of the most unbelievable endings to a Yankee game I've ever seen. I can't imagine A-Rod batting any higher than 5th tomorrow, but then again it's not like the rest of this lineup is doing anything either except Jeter & Martin.
  3. Yankee playoff baseball! So happy to see this game under way.
  4. I'm off to a pretty hot start I'd say.
  5. Wild Card Round Texas over Baltimore Atlanta over St. Louis Division Series New York over Texas Oakland over Detroit Atlanta over Washington San Francisco over Cincinnati Championship Series New York over Oakland San Francisco over Atlanta World Series San Francisco over New York in 6
  6. I'm really pulling for Cabrera to win the MVP, but I guess that's because I always associated the MVP with the best hitter in baseball.
  7. Hahaha that's probably the worst call I've seen in the NFL...rivals the awfulness of the blown perfect game call.
  8. My God is this Jet offense hopeless.
  9. That was an incredible game, and an awesome win for the Yankees...that race is unreal. Both the Yankees and the Orioles are on a 6-7 game winning streak. If this was last year it really wouldn't matter because most likely one of them would just take the Wild Card spot, but now with a do-or-die game its so much more important to win the division. Overall, I'm loving the addition of that extra Wild Card...so many more fan-bases are able to experience a playoff race each year.
  10. I'm really hoping to see Miggy Cabrera win the AL MVP this year. Trout will have plenty of years to win that crown, but it's something that Miggy has never won yet despite being one of the 5 best hitters in baseball over the past decade. The only human who has been consistently better hitter than him in the past decade is Albert Pujols.
  11. I would have bet the house the Cowboys weren't going to convert on that 3rd down right there.
  12. Wow...not that Crawford & Beckett were contributing too much this year, but where will Boston be over the next few years without any of these guys. The heart of the order will be Elsbury - Pedroia - Middlebrooks? In the AL East I really doubt that's gonna cut it.
  13. I just wanted to gloat a little bit because these are by far the best predictions I've ever made heading into a season. Obviously I didn't get everything, or even most right, but I'm most proud of (Spurs as top seed/putting Indiana into the second round and of course the NBA Finals prediciton.
  14. I came up with my predictions for this upcoming season here's what I got. Philadelphia (12-4) New York (10-6) Dallas (9-7) Washington (5-11) Chicago (12-4) Detroit (11-5) Green Bay (11-5) Minnesota (3-13) Carolina (12-4) Atlanta (9-7) New Orleans (9-7) Tampa Bay (5-11) San Francisco (12-4) St. Louis (8-8) Seattle (5-11) Arizona (4-12) New England (11-5) Buffalo (10-6) New York (8-8) Miami (3-13) Cincinnati (10-6) Pittsburgh (10-6) Baltimore (9-7) Cleveland (4-12) Houston (12-4) Tennessee (5-11) Jacksonville (4-12) Indianapolis (4-12) Denver (12-4) San Diego (9-7) Kansas City (5-11) Oakland (3-13) Wild Card Round Green Bay def. SF Detroit def. Chicago New England def. Buffalo Cincinnati def. Pittsburgh Divisional Round Green Bay def. Philadelphia Carolina def. Chicago Denver def. New England Houston def. Cincinnati Championship Round Green Bay def. Carolina Houston def. Denver Super Bowl Green Bay def. Houston
  15. At least the Nets know when to resign an over-exposed, over-rated, media celebrity when they have one as seen today with the 2 year Humphries deal!
  16. Yea, but at least they'll get a top 5 pick in the draft. The Knicks have given me too many bad seasons capped off with draft picks ranging from 7-10.
  17. I can't stand the direction this Knick team is going. How can management muff this up so badly? Even if you don't want to match Lin's offer how are you not prepared for a scenario where Lin is not the Point Guard? They could have been the team that made a move for Lowry, Collison, etc, but no they add Felton & Kurt Thomas. When JR Smith & Melo (who I don't even consider too much of an athlete, relative to the rest of the NBA) or on the bench they might have the slowest team of all-time (Felton/Kidd/Novak/Camby/Stat/Thomas) ugh gross. I'm defecting and cheering for Brooklyn.
  18. I have no problem with keeping strike zones the way they are, but 'human error' is just stupid when it comes to balls in play. In what way is getting something wrong better than getting something right? I also don't think it would take too much time if there's an umpire in a booth watching replays throughout the entire game. Even a challenge system is better than the way it is right now. Yet again it's another example of MLB being stuck in the past.
  19. I've had my parents buy me plenty of CDs before, but the first one I actually went to the store and purchased with my own money (because my parents wouldn't buy it for me) was Nelly's "Country Grammar." Boy did I feel so cool walking out of the store with a CD that had the parental advisory label on it. I still think that's a very fun album.
  20. I'm not saying Jeremy Lin is great or will be great, but we haven't seen his ceiling. We already Felton's ceiling and it's below-average to mediocre PG. The guy (Lin) was simply beloved in New York City...a "most beloved poll" on ESPN last year had him receive more votes than the likes of Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter & Eli Manning. The Knicks were going to be over the cap anyway with Amare/Chandler/Melo so why get frugal now? People say he can't mesh with other plays, well they brought in Kidd to teach him how. This really bums me out I'm shocked.
  21. I can't believe the Knicks aren't going to resign Lin. I understand there are probably valid business reasons for it, but man, Lin was the most likeable guy on the team in such a long time. It would really be frustrating and heart-breaking having to see him go.
  22. Is there anything more annoying in all sports than this Dwight Howard/Orlando nonsense.
  23. I don't really think there is one specific way to build a championship team, and although speed seemed to prevail this year the Heat's toughest challenges came up against teams you wouldn't consider quick at all (Pacers & Boston). Ultimately, I think it still comes down to hitting big shots, smart play, and tight defense. It doesn't matter if your team is old, young, fast or slow...if you can do that you can win the title. Just look at Dallas two years ago they were clearly outmatched athletically yet dominated the Finals, and this year the Heat sort of looked like the Mavs of two years ago. They seemed to be the slower team, but they played smarter/hit their shots and won easily.
  24. I don't think the Ray Allen or Rashard Lewis are really that big of deals for Miami. They were already a very good 3-point shooting team so they will continue to improve there, but questions still remain about their size and strength. I think they could have used a guy like Camby more than another 3-point shooter. Ultimately, the Heat's success next year, like it was this year, will come down to whether or not they will hit their 3s. All their shooters were locked on in the Finals so you cannot expect a better performance than that. With Steve Nash joining the Lakers, and potentially Howard to the Nets I think we may have two new teams that are fully capable of beating the defending champs next year.
  25. Would anyone be interested if I compile a list of EWB's favorite Monday Night Raw Matches? I know everyone was getting sick of lists so I figured I'll check here first to see if there's interest.
