  1. I'm only rooting for the Patriots so I don't get upset when they lose.
  2. I thought he said he wanted to play until he was 50? Or was that just a nightmare of mine?
  3. Finally finished my watch through of Deep Space Nine. Those last 10 episodes are probably the best Star Trek I've ever seen. Loved every second of it.
  4. As a fan of a small market team, that notoriously has had issues with getting free agents to sign here, I am not a fan of players teaming up together or forcing a trade from a small market team. At least Davis, even though he has made claims in the past to want to stay in New Orleans, is making his intentions known. It puts the Pelicans in a horrible spot, however. No team is going to want to give up a bunch of good, young assets in exchange for a one year rental. And they clearly don't like the Lakers offer. So what are they supposed to do now? Lose their star player for nothing and compete for the lottery? Make a lopsided trade that is not in their favor? I don't blame Davis for wanting out. New Orleans tried to put a good team around him, it might have panned out differently if Cousins hadn't gotten hurt last year, but that's the game. Hopefully they don't end up in too bad of a position but it's looking like they will.
  5. Don't worry, he will take back what he said. He always does.
  6. Wade I dont mind so much. The fans voted him in as a starter and he has said its his last season. But, Dirk hasn't said anything about this being his last season. And he's already been invited to the 3 point contest. So, why add him to the game? I'm all for honoring him, he's always been a favorite of mine to watch, but this just doesn't fit to me. Again, the game is a joke, so I say put everybody in there. Where is Vince Carter?
  7. I wouldn't mind if the Jazz trade for Conley, but I do not want Exum included. In other news, the NBA has added Dwyane Wade and Dirk to the all star game roster as Special additions. Making the game an even bigger joke then it already is.
  8. Seeing as how Davis is signed through the end of the 2020 season, the Lakers would be waiting for a while to sign him. Is he really going to sit out a season and a half just to sign with the Lakers?
  9. At least in the Knicks defense, they now have cap space for two max contracts this summer. Not that anybody good will want to sign there. But they have the room!
  10. Did not see that coming. I wonder if Dirk will stick around for another year to play with KP and Luka? I might need to find an east coast team to start rooting for. The Jazz will never have enough Balls to make a move like that or be able to put a team together to compete in the west for a championship.
  11. Oh, it's great for New Orleans. Not so much for Boston.
  12. Tatum would be great, but several other players would have to be included to get the salaries to match. And with no guarantee that Davis would stay in Boston, why mortgage trading a great player in Tatum?
  13. What offer could Boston give that is better than what the Lakers could give? All the rumors are pointing towards Davis tired of being the only superstar on a team and with Irving not being committed to Boston, rumors are saying Davis doesnt want a trade there.
  14. There's some fans and reporters here in Utah hoping that the Jazz make a run at Jrue Holiday. Not sure how I feel about it. A change at point would be for the better, but I think our best bet would be to put Mitchell there and run Exum at shooting guard. I wouldn't be upset if we traded for Mike Conley like other rumors are suggesting, but just going with Rubio this year and throwing our money/cap space at a stretch four next summer would be our best move.
  15. They're reporting wanting Ball, Kuzma, Zubac, and a first round pick. Which would be a great haul for them. And it would be great to see Ball's dad freaking out that he got traded away from the Lakers and Lebron.
  16. Anthony Davis has requested a trade from the Pelicans. Obviously, ESPN is blowing their load that he gets traded to the Lakers.
  17. That just sucks. Pacers have been playing great and Victor is a major part of that. Hate to see anybody go down with an injury but sucks even more when they're having this great of a season.
  18. My bad. I blame my phone and autocorrect.
  19. Larry Fitzgerald has resigned with the Cardinals to play one more season.
  20. Jesus, did that ball ever come down? What a hell of a kick.
  21. I missed the play in question as I was cooking dinner, but saw a still shot of it Fox put up and, holy crap, that was a horrible no-call. As good as this game has been, sucks to see that happen.
  22. James Harden is on a scoring tear and its terrifying.
  23. I agree. I guess I just think of a QB being a product of a system and a system QB as two different things. To me, Brady is a product of his system because without the Patriots system, he's not the best QB ever. Where I view a QB like Alex Smith as a system QB, somebody that you can plug into any system and get good results.
  24. I think that is true to an extent, @DMN. But a QB can also make a system better. Where would the Patriots be today if Brady wasn't there and they stuck with Drew Bledsoe for a few more years? How about the 49ers if they had somebody different backing up Montana instead of Young? Would the Chiefs be in the AFC championship game this year if they kept Alex Smith instead of going with Patrick Mahomes? What about the Broncos before and after Manning?
  25. Brady is a product of the system. Don't get me wrong, he's still one of the greatest QBs of all time, but I don't know how great he would have been without that system. You put them in any other system for the last 16 years and he will probably win a Super Bowl or two. And if you put any other good QB into New England's system and they probably win a Super Bowl or two. But its them being combined together that makes them into an all time great QB and an all time great system.
