  1. I don't think I'll have the money to get anything other than a Wii in and of itself with Wii Sports. But I'll probably get Twilight Princess as soon as possible, and possibly Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.
  2. The one inherent flaw in this show is that for comedy geniuses the actual sketch comedy show really isn't that funny. There was a grand total of one bit in the stuff shown from the show in tonight's episode that made me laugh (that being the Katrina punchline in Science Schmience), and that does hurt the believability just a little bit. I'm glad they didn't show Crazy Christians because there's absolutely no way it could be anywhere near as funny as you would hope from all the talk, and I think they knew that too. Aside from that, the show is fantastic still. The acting, the handling of topical issues, the chemistry the cast has together, totally fantastic. It's a shame that it's not doing well in the ratings, but that's an unfortunate trend with smart comedy.
  3. And the song has finally managed to load. And wow. I have no idea WHAT they're going for with this song. It's kind of like if Cake made a post-punk record except they let a sixth grader write the lyrics, and they smashed the record with a hammer afterwards and then someone decided to glue it back together. Well played, Good Charlotte, you're sucking in new and innovative ways now.
  4. Right on right on. I haven't heard them since "IIIII HATE EV'RYTHING A-BOUT YOUUUU WHY DO IIIII LOOOOVE YOUUUUUU" or whatever back in like '03, but I hated them back then.
  5. Screw that. Rolf is a funny character, but the "wacky foreigner" archetype is so played out now. The high point of Ed, Edd, and Eddy is Double D's exasperation at how stupid every other character in the series is. And yes, Bobobo is cracktacular. I can't watch more than five minutes at a time. If I do, my head explodes.
  6. Well, I think the most important question is whether it was actually fun or not. I mean, obviously it was just briefly playing one game and likely more figuring out the controls and all, but still.
  7. Oh. Yeah, you're right, it was a.k.a. cartoon.
  8. Baby, can you dig your man? I've come to the conclusion that I have musical A.D.D. I can stomach pretty much anything (Rascal Flatts, even) until I've felt I've heard it enough. At that point, it's dead to me for a while. Needless to say, Fergie and Shakira are beyond that point. Justin's still decent to listen to, if only because I flash back to CM Punk pimp-slapping Shannon Moore every time I hear the song. God damn it, I still need to see that segment.
  9. SexyBack is a song by Justin Timberlake. But I can't remember for the life of me who did London Bridge (the chick from Black Eyed Peas?).
  10. And Sufjan's songs are pretty awesome especially compared to Panic, too, don't forget that. Compared to Panic, yes. But overall I've grown very sour on him due to massive overhype. Mirah makes vastly superior indie pop.
  11. I mostly hate Panic! not just because their music is bad, but they have the second most annoying song titles in music (well, maybe. They're locked in Mortal Kombat with Sufjan Stevens, but at least Sufjan occasionally has song titles that AREN'T obnoxiously long).
  12. The high point of Johnny Bravo was the episodes with Donny Osmond playing an exaggerated version of himself. Nothing else ever came close to being that good. EDIT: Also, it may be because it didn't age well, but I hate American cartoons in the 80s. They all come off as toy commercials. Whereas in the 90s there were a lot of those but there were also shows like Freakazoid, Animaniacs, Rocko's Modern Life, and so on that were just there to be awesome cartoons.
  13. I always loved that. That song would come on and they're all making fun of celebrities, but come on. It's fucking GOOD CHARLOTTE. The whole song is kind of like punk rock for eleven-year old girls.
  14. I like how every time I see Good Charlotte they've managed to look just a little bit lamer than they did the last time I saw them.
  15. "Woman" is probably by Wolfmother because the EGM article on Guitar Hero II mentioned that there was a song on it that is still on the airwaves right now. And Fanku; I have "Misirlou." It sounds like Dick Dale but it certainly doesn't sound like any part of the copy of the song that's on his Best Of collection.
  16. Props for Lupe Fiasco; I've only heard "Kick, Push" and "I Gotcha" but god DAMN are they great. I originally just thought of him as the guy who shows up on "Touch the Sky" and has a verse that really isn't very strong except for the fact that he makes a Lupin III reference which rules the universe, but I'm totally sold on him as being a strong MC in his own right.
  17. I disagree. there are and have been several 'kids' cartoons in recent years which have been pretty good overall. Like Invader Zim, Fairly Oddparents, Dexter's Laboratory, Justice League, The Powerpuff Girls, and my current favorite, The Grim Adventures of Billy And Mandy. That show is one of the best things on TV if only because of all the Dune references. And the Evil Dead references. And the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas references. And Black Dracula. To be fair, Invader Zim really wasn't for kids. I mean, it was put on Nickelodeon and all but the humor quite clearly aims more to the teenage set (I never, ever met a single fan of Zim that was younger than thirteen). Were Zim put on Cartoon Network as opposed to Nickelodeon it would likely have lasted longer. Hell, if they'd have just bided their time and put it on Adult Swim's lineup at the start it would have ended up being a franchise series, I think. But then again, I can't think of a show on Adult Swim's lineup at the very start that I would want to replace it for (maybe just give it one of Cowboy Bebop's two slots at the time). I agree with everything you mentioned aside from Billy and Mandy, though. I just don't like that show and I can't figure out why for the life of me.
  18. It's a first, but I agree with GoGo. I dislike Green Day and The Beatles, so this top five sucks for me thus far. Chili's would make it a hell of a lot better. Take that back, you're not agreeing with me. Or you're agreeing with me for the wrong reasons. TAKE IT BACK.
  19. And when "Dani California" came out it was the exact same thing. Not really. At least, not for me personally. I think I've only heard it like four or five times ever. Haha, then you don't listen to the radio. Dani California is the Blvd. of Broken Dreams of 2006. I barely listen to Seattle's alternative station anymore, but whenever I have they usually haven't played that song. Of course, to be fair, the only times I listen to Seattle's radio station for reasons other than "everything else is really bad right now" are during their punk rock show and their 80's show, so hey.
  20. And when "Dani California" came out it was the exact same thing. Not really. At least, not for me personally. I think I've only heard it like four or five times ever.
  21. I think the main difference and reason for the reaction to Green Day as opposed to RHCP is that for a while it was IMPOSSIBLE to escape Green Day's singles from American Idiot. I could not go a day without hearing "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and I wasn't even listening to any radio stations that play Green Day at that point.
  22. Beast Wars was fantastic. I miss that show.
  23. Yeah, Kirk Cobane sure is rolling in his grave, there. Misirlou sounds... odd. Like, I really don't remember a single part of that song that sounded like that.
  24. You may well be the only person on EWB who even still listens to Sum 41, to be entirely honest. They haven't been particularly relevant for years now. ... wow. I just realized how long it's been since Sum 41 first got popular. Jesus.
