  1. Phases of play ARE relevant, as it's something that VAR has used on multiple occasions to justify a goal being allowed to stand, because a foul took place too far back and it was a new phase of play.
  2. MLS I think prides itself on its utter lack of transparency when it comes to the salary cap and how teams stay compliant with it. And I think that's going to continue to be the theme with Miami, a club that has already broken the salary cap rules. Both Suarez and Alba, by MLS rules, can each only make $1.6m a year with Miami. That's roughly $31k a week. It's been a long, long time since either made that little money for their club, and I will be shocked if that's all they're actually getting paid for real to be in Miami.
  3. West Ham 1-0 Man Utd (Sat 12.30pm, TNT) Fulham 3-1 Burnley (Sat 3pm) Nottm Forest 0-1 Bournemouth (Sat 3pm) Tottenham 2-1 Everton (Sat 3pm) Liverpool 2-1 Arsenal (Sat 5.30pm, Sky)
  4. Villa were very hard done by on the VAR call. The keeper is absolutely fouled on the corner, yes, but it has zero impact on the play and ensuing goal. Very clear new phase of play as Sheffield United try to dribble out of their own box, lose possession, and Villa score. Really don't understand how the keeper being fouled 10+ seconds previously had anything to do with the goal.
  5. It's pretty hilarious that Romano tweeted this week about my Philly Union signing out 4th or 5th ranked ST to a new contract this week. Was one of the most random "okay who paid Fab for this" tweets of all time. There's my Romano anecdote while his name is being mentioned.
  6. This is an absolute beat down by the Bills. Cook has more than twice the yards as the entire Cowboys offense. Goodness me.
  7. That was the definition of arrogance. Arrogance from the players, arrogance from the vast majority of supporters acting like we were going to blow them away. The best chances fell to United. Hardly a single player put in a good performance. That was embarrassing.
  8. Denver Broncos vs Detroit Lions (2) Chicago Bears vs Cleveland Browns (3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Green Bay Packers (1) Houston Texans vs Tennessee Titans (4) New York Giants vs New Orleans Saints (5)
  9. That's so awful for Lockyear. Twice in 6 months now, even after the surgery to help fix the afib. So happy to hear he's responsive and well. Wonder if that's the last time he gets to play the game he loves. I just hope he continues to stay healthy and well.
  10. Bournemouth 2-1 Luton (Sat 3pm) Burnley 0-1 Everton (Sat 5.30pm, Sky) Arsenal 2-0 Brighton (Sun 2pm) Brentford 1-2 Aston Villa (Sun 2pm) Liverpool 4-0 Man Utd (Sun 4.30pm, Sky)
  11. What a fabulous thread!
  12. Philly really should be looking at getting an experienced DC in stat. Having an unqualified defensive coordinator is unacceptable, especially when the defense is only getting worse. There's been no schematic changes or improvements really anywhere.
  13. The Eagles won way too many close games that they didn't deserve at all. It's essentially the trope of the team massively overperforming their xG to get wins only to start losing when the numbers bottom out. I'm a Philly fan, but this team is not a legitimate contender. Jalen Hurts turns the ball over too much, the red zone offense is laughably bad, and the defense is the worst in the NFL. Linebackers cannot tackle, and their secondary ensures there's at least one guy wide open every play. Slay and Bradberry had career years last year, and are now having career years this year of the opposite kind.
  14. Yeah, totally didn't think of anything today after all awful night's sleep. I'll take my zeroes haha.
  15. Villa have been a wonderful mix of landing an incredible manager - I would absolutely say he's the 3rd best manager by some distance - who has helped good players develop even more, an ownership willing to splash some significant cash on quality signings (Carlos, Torres, Bailey, Diaby, Tielemans since he's on huge wages apparently), and players working very hard together on and off the ball. Also huge credit to Diego Carlos for how amazing he's been after coming back from injury.
  16. Thank goodness Alisson was playing today. I love Kelleher, but Alisson saved us from 2 goals and is the reason why we are walking away with 3 points.
  17. I've been big on Harvey Elliott getting more minutes and starts this season. He's been fantastic almost every appearance. That was a fabulous strike. Liverpool about to leave with 3 points when I'd argue we deserve 0.

  20. What a gut punch for Palace. Ayew sent off for a second yellow on an absolute pointless foul, Salah then scores on a deflected shot 90 seconds later. Would not be surprised to end up getting 3 points from a match we deserve 0 from.
  21. The run of incredibly flat, poor first halves for Liverpool continue. All that possession for not a single chance created. Palace are extremely unlucky to not be in the lead.
