  1. The dominance of Ometepe is interesting to watch, but I can see why they squeezed two tribal councils into that episode. What happened outside of the immunity challenges was just very predictable and I never had the question of whether something would happen to shake up Ometepe. The way I saw it the only thing that Zapatera could hope for was Phillip flipping, which they killed by ostracizing him. Or Mike/David going on an immunity challenge run, which they didn't. So those two eliminations were very predictable and there was no need to make two episodes out of that. Good call by the producers. Now that we're seeing that Phillip isn't actually as crazy as it might seem I kinda like him. He actually is playing the game, and is going to play the crazy man schtick to the final 3 at least it seems. I still think Rob needs to do everything he can to have Phillip next to him at the end. Because Phillip is the only person I can people voting for Rob over, other than maybe Ashley. I just get the impression people don't care much for Ashley.
  2. The Thunder having Perkins could be big if Bynum is out. And it also levels the playing field for San Antonio. But I still wouldn't bet on a team other than LA in the West.
  3. Watching Pearl Islands. Can I request if something big about the show is mentioned that it be put in spoilers. This is one of the seasons I actually don't know much about as far as who wins and swerves and the like. Not to be a pain. I just wanna be able to read this thread without worrying.
  4. I've seen the first few. Than I stopped, and other than random seasons here and there I am really just now starting back up. I am currently watching the 6th season I believe it is. The one with Johnny Fairplay in it, only seen the first episode. I'd be up for this, but it'd take me forever cause my free time to watch shows is limited and keeping up with the ongoing season and The Ultimate Fighter is my priority.
  5. I agree with you. That's just what I heard for a reasoning. They wanted to get smaller for who knows what reason. They overreacted to The Heat and it was a massive mistake.
  6. I don't think they did it to get younger, I think they wanted some more flexibility on the bench and some more wing help to play with Miami and some of the smaller, faster teams out there. But it was still a horrible mistake to make. They could have gotten Richard Hamilton, Corey Brewer or multiple other guys without giving up Perkins.
  7. I don't think Rob sees Ralph as a threat. So I think he'll aim for Mike or David, probably Mike cause he's scared of him it seems.
  8. I got a one year break in 2006. But the other 24 years of my life, yes I have been. It's been worse the last few years when they continue to get my hopes up in the offseason. Before 2006 I always assumed we'd be bad.
  9. In fairness he got lucky last night. 9 hits and 4 walks in 5.2 innings and only gave up 1 run? Beckett looked absolutely fantastic though. And I am in mourning for my Tigers. Losing a series at home to the Royals? Shameful.
  10. I really don't have a strong opinion on the DH one way or the other. But I do think Edgar Martinez was a good enough hitter that he would have been an everyday player even if it weren't for the DH spot, the Mariners just didn't have to do that. Not really his fault for that.
  11. This is Lew Polley's blog post on MMAJunkie, pretty interesting... http://mmajunkie.com/news/23139/team-dos-santos-blog-lew-polley-on-the-ultimate-fighter-13-episode-no-2.mma
  12. Yeah, of the girls I think Andrea has been the standout. She's played smart, but you get the feeling she could be more of a threat than the other two Ometepe girls. People outside of Rob and Grant seem to genuinely like her, not sure if the same goes for the other girls. The threat of Phillip flopping was the only thing that made me wonder if Rob made the right move getting rid of Matt. I see the logic in it, but I think if Matt was going to flip it would have been on that vote, and had he chosen to flip, he probably wouldn't have been voted out. If Phillip is going to flip and actually make an impact he's gonna have to do it soon cause the other tribe is going to start dropping soon. Rob keeping Phillip sane might be the key for him. Cause if they do pick off the other tribe one by one than it's going to be very interesting to see what happens when it gets to the final six. Cause for Rob and Grant does it make sense to vote out Phillip first and hope the three girls don't align against them? Who knows if it really comes to that, but if it does it's going to be fun to watch unfold. I don't see Steve or the older lady whose name I can never remember as threats. If David and Mike were in a position to make a play they could be dangerous, but they're playing from behind here.
  13. I expect another hidden immunity somewhere at the new camp. It's just a hunch, but that's what I'm expecting. I almost feel bad for Matt who lasted so long on redemption island, but he is better off playing the game alone than with people cause he is in over his head with some of these guys. I could see Mike as a threat to Rob, but right now something crazy would have to happen. Especially now that there is a merge. Had Phillip spilled the beans on the idol before the merge the girls might have turned on Rob, but at this point they have to follow this thing through.
  14. I blame local sports talk for overreactions. At least in my area of Michigan, the local guys are gloom and doom and fire Leyland after 4 games. Than they won and everything was great. Than they lost last night and it's back to two days ago. Wait a month at least people.
  15. Not saying I agree with this, but the argument I hear against Rose pretty much all hinges on the +/- category. Basically Lebron and Dwight have a more significant impact on their team because their teams do worse without them than the Bulls do without Rose. I think it'd ridiculous. Rose is the MVP.
  16. So The Orioles and The Blue Jays are 2 - 0 and The Red Sox are 0 - 2? (Y) And my Tigers are (N)
  17. Yeah, not an overwhelming first episode or first match. And the teaser for the rest of the season at the end of the episode didn't make me all that anxious for what's to come. Not that I won't watch anyway, but still. It does look like their may be some talented guys on the show though so we'll see.
  18. I can't understand Florida getting a 2 seed. I think the regions are pretty even outside of the Southeast where I actually think I like Kansas State as the best team there. BYU is struggling, Florida is overrated and so is Wisconsin. And Pittsburgh chokes every year. I actually wouldn't be suprised to see Pittsburgh lose in round 2 to be honest. I don't see Duke as having an easy road at all. San Diego St., U Conn and Texas is tough. When Texas is on their as good as anyone, their just inconsistent as all hell. And U Conn has one of the two best players in the country who can dominate a game like no one else.
  19. I can't see Reem ever doing what Silva has done. I think he'll win a title at some point in the UFC maybe, but there are to many great HW's to dominate that division. Man I'm excited to see how this all plays out.
  20. That Harvard game was brutal, I felt gutted for those guys. Arizona is still going to the dance, Harvard just watched their season end.
  21. I'm cool with it, but I don't see MMA as pro-wrestling, I see it as NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, etc., it's a sport. I don't want to see Peyton Manning and the Colts play in one league and Tom Brady and the Pats play in another and always wonder what would happen if they played each other. I wanna see them play each other cause it's going to be a damn good football game most of the time. I worry about UFC raising prices, doing less free shows, etc, since they're the only game in town, but I have to think they're smart enough to realize that they still have to cater to the fans. I don't really see the downside to all of this. The only thing I can see is that certain guys might get lost in the shuffle and never get a chance to make the top if the two groups do eventually merge and the rosters get bloated. So in that sense I'd like Strikeforce to stay around and maybe eventually become like a minor league promotion for UFC. As for Daley he's being idiot. This is a huge fight for him. Where is he gonna go if he leaves?
  22. I gotta think UCLA will make it in as one of only 3 or 4 Pac-10 teams. Awesome games all around today. NC/Clemson, Washington/Arizona and UConn/Louisville were all great games. I am officially psyched for March Madness. So long as Michigan gets in so they can lose in round one .
  23. I think that's part of the reason Strikeforce will be its own seperate orginization still without involvement from Dana. Guys like Daley, Shamrock, Fedor, Hendo who have issues with Dana can be kept seperate.
  24. On a seperate note... 5'11 White kids shouldn't be able to do this stuff
