  1. Tampa Bay is particularly low from what I read and is going to have to go megabucks to make up space.
  2. So it should be called Rudo Resurrection Forever.
  3. ORO's suggestion of Smash TV is a great one. Be it a complete 3D re-imagining or just an HD upgrade. I also think Mutant League Football/Hockey with today's potential engines could be a lot of fun. The brutality and gore could be upped big time these days.
  4. We did one, but I wasn't in it. So it sucked.

  5. Maybe. Probably not in the near future however.

  6. I think the Steelers need someone else in the secondary. Even if Ike Taylor comes back, that is the obvious weakness of the teams defense and an issue they need to address. Another LB to eventually replace Harrison would be nice too, but we always seem to get guys who can do that pretty easily anyways. The O-Line actually played a lot better than I expected until they were decimated with injuries. It's hard to find a lot of needs when you make the Super Bowl and lose a close game, but those are things I can think of off the top of my head. In more general NFL discussion, anyone else think the league could benefit a lot from having a real development/minor league system? The guys they get off practice squads/the road would be helped a lot by spending time honing their skills in NFL rules in some sort of league with competitive games. It'd be especially useful for QB's who can't really get any time in competitive play without the starter getting injured and they could really get polished/better like that. I don't know, just an idea.
  7. I'd say this years class has some interesting 'project' guys who have the physical tools but need some polish between the ears and on mechanics and shit. But yeah, I suppose none of them really jump out as 'sure fire' picks. Still they have Chris Johnson and the defense and can let Kerry Collins get his umpteenth kick at the can. Plus they have... RUSTY SMITH!!~!~!~ ... Sorry Titans fans.
  8. Well I meant other than that. They have a pretty high pick though, they could probably draft a QB? But yeah, their owner is probably one of the worst to work for in the NFL.
  9. Oh I understand being annoyed by Chase, I just hope you guys realize that as a Steelers fan it also kind of bums me out since ragging on his team is still technically ragging on my team. Anyways, I am sorry for being all ranty like that it's just kind of grating after awhile and my team did just lose the title in a close one so I was a little one edge. Apologies if I came across really douchey. On the Titans subject, I can't say much. Don't know nearly enough about the new HC but waiting until after pretty much every position opened just doesn't seem like the right move to me. Tennessee is actually a pretty sweet job that could have been sold easily to a couple of the new coaches who certainly seem more qualified. That said, I don't really run an NFL team and for all I know this new guy could be great. There's also something to be said for promoting from within as it makes the transition between coaches easier for the players. I was actually pretty shocked when Tomlin was picked ahead of Wisenhunt/Grimm. Not that I have any complaints about his results so far
  10. I'm starting to think that Ben raped naiwf with the way he pretty much constantly rips on him and the Steelers. Didn't realize you base an entire franchise on one player and a couple of their fans. I've never gone in here and said Ben is some sort of god and I certainly never said he was the best QB or that they ever won anything because of him or any one player. No one player wins games, that's not how football works. Both teams went out today and played. The Steelers made mistakes on both sides of the ball aside from Ben's two picks (Fumbling in GB territory, awful secondary coverage) while Green Bay made far fewer. Regardless of whatever people in the media say I personally never thought of Ben as the 'omfg greatest qb ever' and while I obviously can't tell you what he did off the field since I am not a part of any investigations into his accused rapes nor have I seeked out information on these cases or what have you I can't really tell you what he did or not. Most people seem to think he raped two women. I don't know, but I am obviously not happy to even hear him accused. In short, fuck off on the excessive Steelers bashing, stop acting like other teams in the league don't have guys who've hit their spouses/sold drugs/killed people or whatever other illegal activities they've done and try looking at the other players on the team who aren't accused rapists and actually have helped the communities they live in. Not to mention the Rooney family doesn't deserve you shitting all over them after everything they've done for the team. I HATE arguing like this, but it gets tiresome to see my team getting ripped over things like this just because Chase and Steelers fans like him piss you off. I apologize actually for making this seem like a personal attack on Naiwf too, because he's obviously not the only one whose said things like this too. So yeah, end of rant.
  11. I'd hardly say Rodgers had a lesser reputation than Ben. Obviously less prolific in the post-season but most people (Rightly) assume he's better at the QB position and hasn't shown any really awful post-season performances.
  12. Well, just too many mistakes while Green Bay made way fewer. It sucks but that's just the way it goes. Congrats to any actual Green Bay fans on here.
  13. CUZ DA STEELERS BRIBE REFS LOLZ. Seriously though, should be a close game (in theory). I wouldn't be shocked if either team won, but obviously I'd much rather see Pittsburgh win. In fact, I'd like to see them win big and not have to rip my hair out and eat my nails in tense moments but those don't come to often for us it seems
  14. It was nice of Ben to make the burger himself.
  15. Oh, sorry. I meant there are no excuses... BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY WE ARE GOING TO LOSE ANYWAYS! WOOOO! BJ RAJI IS TOO FAT TO CATCH BEN! WOOOO! TROY WILL KILL HIM AND SHIT! WOOOO! ANTONIO BROWN WILL ONCE AGAIN SOMEHOW HAVE THE BIGGEST CATCH OF THE GAME FOR US WOOOO! Better?
  16. It's from a game in '09 between the Titans and Bills. Both he and Ralph Wilson are original owners from the AFL. Given the history between the two owners/franchises (notabely "THE Comeback" and "Music City Miracle") Bud was venting some frustration after the Titans beat the dog shit out of Buffalo like 40 to 17 or some crap. I knew that, was just making a joke As for Pouncey being out, it sucks. They'll just have to do what they can without him. If they can't win with injuries to players, they weren't deep enough and didn't deserve to win. The best teams win with injuries and it's not an excuse for losing in my mind. I still think they'll win the game even with Pouncey hurt. Green Bay's shown they can be beaten by a team like Chicago and Pittsburgh is basically them with better offensive weapons and a better defense (In my opinion). Should be an interesting game.
  17. I'm guessing that is from his last appearance in the Astrodome.
  18. Man, that was close. I was very impressed by the Jets poise after falling behind so much early and it really could have gone either way. Glad to see the defense step up big on the goal line and another huge catch for Brown. I am feeling good about our Super Bowl chances against Green Bay. Chicago showed that Rodgers can be slowed down and Caleb Haine put up pretty good numbers against them for a 3rd string QB. Still, both teams have a good chance at winning. Can't wait to see the big game. As for the Jets future, I think Rex is actually shown himself to be a very good coach and it'll be interesting to see how he handles younger guys that'll inevitably be put into roles in the next few years. He's done pretty good with the guys he has though so if I was a Jets fan I'd be pretty happy about how the team is doing. I do agree with Naiwf that there could be a little drop off though if only due to age and the guys they might end up losing.
  19. Good game. The pass defense for the Jets was tight and Brady looked real shaky. I know they are really obnoxious and all, but after all the hype for the Pats it's nice to see them lose. People were pretty much crowning them champions and they fell at the first hurdle. Also nice to see 3 defense driven teams in the final 4. QB's/Offense get way too much hype every year and it's nice to see them look silly when they face top D's. I like whoever wins the AFC in the Super Bowl though, Rodgers will have a tough time putting up numbers like he has against either of those defense (Or even next week against the Bears).
  20. How fucking dare you insult Tommy Maddox.
  21. I had a real tough time picking one from the other in my football pool. Atlanta should feel pretty motivated with so many experts and such picking against them. I can't remember a 6th seed being picked so heavily against a #1
  22. Well, um, sorry that Chase annoys you guys? But yeah, I'd say Flacco should get at least one more kick at the can. He's got a lot of playoff experience now and if he can't get past a top team next time than it might be time to look elsewhere.
  23. I'm a Steelers fan and have been pretty respectful. Hardly fair to lump an entire teams fanbase together based on a few guys. Anywho, I thought the game was what I expected. Very close, strong D and (Luckily for me) Ben making big plays late and leading us to the win. It really could have gone either way, I'm just glad it went ours and hopefully we do it again next week. As for Flacco, I am still unsure. I mean he can win playoff games (Although his numbers leave something to be desired) but he's in what? His 5th year next season? He still has a lot of time to develop and Baltimore is putting good pieces around him. They just need to hope he makes that jump within the next year or two because the D is getting a little long in the tooth (Although it too has some solid guys with mileage left).
