  1. Yeah. Hawaii seems like a place where older guys would like to 'retire' and younger guys could picks things up from them while trying to figure out their own gimmicks. All the while you have a constant source of Samoan heritage guys which can come in a variety of age. Any Samoan's who wouldn't be able to crack major promotions would probably just stay at home in my estimation. As for Florida I always figured they would stick to an old school feel with Sullivan and keep the same roster for awhile. If possible adding some more Carribean themed guys (Kofi?) would be a plus. Obviously Primo and any other Colon's floating around should make the move too. As for the non-NWA promotions it'd be interesting to see a 'Super Indy' made up of 2 or 3 aspiring challengers to the NWa throne who might merge together. Obviously some promotions make no sense combining (AWA & CZP for example) but having saw CWU, AWA & G2W would work fine and give the new promotion a pretty solid roster instead of a bunch of weak rosters like they have now.
  2. Today! A guy I know who follows curling says our Men's team has a good shot but the Women's team isn't so hot.
  3. I always envisioned Angle going into a year long feud with the entire Hart family in an attempt to goad Bret into 1 last match. Could be a good way to get appearences by Owen & Davey Boy too. Also Scott Steiner can only become a world champion if he moves to ECW
  4. Nice to see Peyton add another highlight to his playoff sucking reel. Maybe people can stop ignoring the fact he's not a great playoff QB and has only came from behind once to ever win a playoff game. The pick he threw was awful and pretty much ended the game. I mean there were a few drops by his receivers, but his pick is why they lost and what ended the game. I didn't see him walk off after the game without shaking hands but if he did that's not very sportsmanlike. Actually kind of surprising for him. I think Manning is a sure Hall Of Famer and will probably break tons of records but he's still a choker and this pretty much shows what he does in the post-season. Good game though. Brees showed why he's one of the best QB's in the NFL and the Saints used pretty much all the guys on their offense like they did every year. The way they played was what got them to the game from long and diverse drives to timely turnovers on defense. Great job by their staff for being so prepared and putting together such a great team.
  5. Seems like a smart hire. Just look at how much Martz helped the Lions with Jon Kitna. He knows how to put up points and the Bears have a QB with an arm and some receivers with potential. I wouldn't be too worried about Forte too. Faulk was a huge part of those Rams teams. Even after his 49ers flop, he had little to nothing to work with as the 49ers receivers were terrible and their QB situation was weak. He still seems pretty douchey though.
  6. Matt Leinart is doing backflips of joy as we speak.
  7. I heard that Schottenheimer wanted the Bills job but they weren't interested. Playoff record aside I am surprised they wouldn't want someone who has proven he can build very good teams pretty fast.
  8. So I am trying to re-structure the North American soccer pyramid and I am just curious to know if there is anyway I can add more teams to the Canadian Championship. Thanks for any help.
  9. Eh, I am sure he'll have no problem finding work elsewhere. Even if he's nuts he's still had a lot of winning season and utilizes an attractive style of play that'll draw fans to your program. But yeah, losing 800K would be pretty awful. Not that he's hurting for money or anything.
  10. Frye is still better than Russell.
  11. I'm too depressed to laugh at Zero. Actually I went to game in Cleveland and had a really fan-dabi-dozi time. It was my first game and even though I was freezing my balls off it was a lot of fun. Our O-Line is the drizzling shits though.
  12. Oakland? Really? Oakland? This is depressing.
  13. Err, their 'form' in the later parts of seasons has been terrible the last couple of seasons. They are becoming notoriously poor finishers and I would be surprised to see them meltdown again. They got lucky in facing Detroit & Washington (Who are both pretty awful) but I think you could see some big problems against the Giants. Also while losing is frustrating as hell I was happy to see Dixon didn't stink things up and played pretty well. Nice to know we have at least a little depth at QB.
  14. Houston seems like a good place to coach really. Just sign a new kicker and that's like 2 or 3 extra wins... also a better defensive mind could help prevent there lat game meltdowns.
  15. I actually think they should keep Mangini around. The defense is improved (Which is what Mangini is good at) and he can't help it that the offense is just pathetically bad. It's one of the reasons the D can't do much since they are on the field 90% of the game. The Browns need some stability and at least a little time for Mangini to bring in some draft picks or whatever. Not that I am a huge Trent Edwards fan, but I don't know if benching him is that amazing a plan. Ryan Fitzpatrick is putting up slightly worse numbers (Except in wins I guess) and I don't think he's won a game since he was playing at Harvard. Gradkowski isn't terrible though and he probably should have started some time ago.
  16. Bosnia Nice to see Russia screwed the pooch... Egypt losing is kind of a head scratcher too. I always think of them as one of the better African teams.
  17. Boise should move to the Mountain West with Fresno, it'd make them as good as some BCS conference with the two Utah school's & TCU added in. The WAC is pretty poor though. Fresno State would be more respectable if they would actually win a close game against the big names they face every year instead of losing in heartbreaking defeat. The rest of the conference is pretty meh (Hawaii is on a downslide, Nevada are inconsistent year to year & everyone else is pretty crap). I don't think Boise would be undefeated in the PAC-10, but they are one of the best teams in the country and could certainly compete in that or any other BCS conference in my opinion.
  18. Maybe he thought Steve Grogan was still with the Patriots after seeing them with their old uniforms last week
  19. Wow, Boise will be like #5 in the next polls. They only need like 3 losses ahead of them and they could actually sneak into a title game. Mind you, I am sure the voters will find a way to fuck them over.
  20. Good news for Boise, that's one less team in their way now. Actually a couple of potential upsets in the making right now. USF are always tough, Fresno is hanging around like they always do & Southern Miss is keeping it close.
  21. I know Washington hasn't been great, but they aren't that bad. I think Portis could rip that D to shreds.
  22. Wow, Cyprus is really going to help their ranking if they keep getting into the Group Stages like this. Terrible draw for Dynamo Kiev though... for most of the Eastern European teams really.
  23. Pittsburghs pass D really seemed to die after Polamalu went out, but they tightened up a little at the end. As for the O-Line they were pretty poor, but I thought they blocked for the pass well. They just can't open up anything for the run whatsoever. Hopefully they can adjust that. Still, a win is a win and Ben showed for the umpteenth time why he's so good in the clutch.
  24. I also think having the fair catch makes good punting & special teams better rewarded. If you can force a guy to call for a fair catch because you hit a really high punt or whatever it's a good reward. It's not like the NFL doesn't have exciting kick returns either, it's just that most of them involve holding penalties
  25. I don't think Mysterio understands how the Steelers offense has worked for the last like, 9 to 10 seasons. You have two running backs. The fast guy (Amos Zearoue, Willie Parker, Ect.) and the plowing guy (Jerome Bettis, Fatuma-Mulahfatuamwhatever, Ect.). Parker will get the majority of the carries, but if Mendenhall can play as good as he should he'll make a solid up the middle guy to compliment Parker's break away speed. Either way it's a moot point however, because the line is really poor which makes running at all hard. I know Ben holds the ball a lot, but why do you think he's always running around so much? He's not a scrambler, it's basically our of necessity. So yeah, we will get a real idea of what Mendenhall can do this season because he will get carries. Also, I don't fully understand the Bengals hype. I mean Palmer is a really great QB, but he's lost a true possesion receiver (Which makes guys like Johnson, Henry & Coles way more effective) they still don't have a reall runningback (His numbers were inflated by the fact Ryan Fucking Fitzpatrick couldn't be trusted to throw) and their defense may be better but it isn't at the level to carry the team. It's not impossible to see a turnaround, but I don't really see the offense working as good without TJ around. A guy like that opens things up for the playmakers. Not to mention Palmer's knee could explode again at any moment. As for best trio, I'd have to pick Baltimore. Rice, McGahee (If he doesn't die) and McClain (Who wills till be goaline carries since he's just fucking huge) are the best trio on a single team. I'd still rather have a duo like Carolina's though, which I think is the best running game in the NFL period.
