The nitpicky cons that did nothing to impact my enjoyment of the movie:

    - Maybe they are saving it for an Avengers 4 flashback but not showing us the destruction of Xandar seems like a huge missed opportunity.  We're familiar with that planet, we know what the Nova Corps can do, and Thanos devastated the planet before he had any of the stones and you aren't going to show us that?  It should have at least been alluded to in a post credits scene on a prior film.  Or maybe have the ship at the end of Ragnarok pick up a distress call from Xandar, warning that Thanos has attacked, right before his ship comes into view.

    - Wasn't feeling Peter Dinklage's character.  He felt like he was overacting.  The forced perspective effects to make him look bigger weren't very well done.

    - I'm ready for Groot to go back to Guardians Vol. 1 Groot now.  Teenage Groot doesn't do anything for me, and didn't  have much of a role at all besides making the axe handle.

    - I don't love that Spidey hasn't matured very much since Civil War and Homecoming and he still feels like he's letting Stark down and needs to apologize to him.  Let's get him past that.  And its kind of absurd given the circumstances around their failure this time around that he'd still wind up blaming himself.  This one is waaaaaaay beyond you Pete.

    - Didn't like the Iron Spider costume in the comics, don't love it here either.  We just got Spider-Man looking exactly as he should, let us enjoy that for awhile.

    - While they did a good job of cementing Wanda and Vision's relationship, it hasn't been nearly fleshed out enough to carry as much emotional weight as they were hoping it would.  If they want to use Scarlet Witch in this way, they really need to start getting her some time in other films.  It's alluded to that she's really powerful, but we don't know very much about her powers or really much of anything about her, besides the fact that she loves Vision and didn't like getting locked up at Avengers HQ.   They really should run with the all female Avengers film at some point.

    - Thor getting a new eye, booooo, long live eyepatch Thor!  Similarly booo Blonde Black Widow, long live red haired Black Widow!

    Spoiler

My guess is that the destruction of Xandar will be the opening shot of a future Nova origin movie.

  2. That was so damn good, random thoughts that I can think of.

    Spoiler

    - I love how they find ways to team up the heroes.  The fact they went out of their way to team up Winder Soldier and Rocket by having Bucky just pick up Rocket with one arm and holding a gun in the other and spinning in circles was easily the funniest part of the entire movie for me.

    - Thor's knew hammer being part start part Groot is great, especially since it seemed to mature Groot.

    - Spiderman winning battles by referencing old movies is a great running gag and needs to continue forever.

    - Hulk being afraid and Banner taking out one of the Black Order on his own was a great way to make Banner relevent without the Hulk and prevent the issue from Ragnarok of him switching more.

    - They really punch your emotions in the dick a lot in this movie.  Loki and Heimdall hit me the hardest, but half the cast fading away was insane, I figured it was coming but everytime a character I really liked faded it just hit me again and again, and I like most of the characters.

    - I'm guessing when Strange said he say 14 million scenarios and they only won 1, he knew they had to let Thanos get the Time Stone and snap life out of existence.  I guess that means he saw Stark play a big role in that which is why he gave up the Stone to save him.

    My slight nitpicky concerns:

    - I'm a little concerned about what happened to Valkyrie, Korg and Meik.  I don't think Thanos killed all the Asguardians and these three just died off screen like nothing.  Maybe Heimdall was able to Bifrost a chunk of the people on the shop to Norway to prevent the extinction of Asguard, but I have no idea if there is another Thor movie in the works so I really hope they just didn't write Korg off like nothing.

    - Was really hoping to see the Battle of Wakanda be going south then some orange circles open up and Wong and some wizards come to help.

Honestly, what’s in the spoiler tags doesn’t spoil much of anything. Two things from the plot, sure, but it’s nothing that’ll ruin enjoyment of the film. But if you’ve avoided trailers up until this point - yeah, don’t open it up.

I won't open it, my anticipation for this movie just went from like a 60 to a 100 now that I actually have tickets and waiting another 98 hours is going to be really, really hard.

Hydra keep it a secret from everyone, then the people inside SHIELD make sure they cover doesn't got blown.

    Spoiler

I think my major issue was just the fact they had the Hydro logo literally everywhere, even the students wore it on their uniform. not very secret.

  5. Minor things that annoy me rant about Agents Shield Season 5 Episode 15

    Spoiler

Hale's backstory with a Hydra Academy?  I feel like they just thought Hydra should have an academy and didn't think that it doesn't make sense in the hierarchy of Shield, and decided to just toss the Hydra Logo everywhere so you know for sure these guys are the evil ones.  I get in the 90's Shield didn't know Hydra was still a thing, but you would think with the level of stealth they had in infiltrating Shield they wouldn't be a little more subtle about it, or Shield is just awful at looking at the background of their top secret agents.

  6. Finished Iron Fist.  I don't think I love any of the Netflix Marvel shows, I enjoy SHIELD a lot more.  I feel like they try to do too much in 13 episodes and there are way too many heel/face turns.  Daredevil and Jessica Jones were pretty straight forward as Hero vs Villian.  Luke Cage and Iron Fist had villains all over the place and building to things that never had a pay off.  I think its The Defenders next?  Then Jessica Jones 2 and then I'm caught up?

How are you going to know Iron Fist is bad if you just accept what you read/people say? Watch it and decide for yourself. It's personally my second favorite out of the entire Netflix MCU, behind Jessica Jones S1.

I'm actually nearly done it, I think I like it more than Luke Cage (the end really soured me) at least.  Most of that is because of Faramir.

  8. Big games might be an issue, I can sort of understand why because I have a lot of characters I want to use to Futurama but I know I can't fit them all in.  I'm leaving ideas out in hopes I can do a Mafia of Interest II down the line and include them there instead of overloading the game.  I think one of the issues with Josh's game was that there was too much happening and that took away from people playing.  Nightly role changes, daily bidding wars and mini games.  I really like the idea of a Homestar Runner mafia but personally I felt there was too much other stuff going on that distracted.

    finglonger.jpg

Farnsworth - Good news, everyone! I've invented a device that allows you to operate equipment from great distances. I call it "the fing-longer". [He is wearing a glove with a long index finger.] Observe. [He pulls out a rest and aims the fing-longer at a button on a piece of equipment.] And, here we go. [He misses the button a few times but eventually succeeds. The equipment, a sort of TV screen, turns on.] There!

    Fry - Ooh!

    Amy - Wow!

    Zoidberg - Ah!

    Farnsworth - Pretty long, eh?

Fry - Yeah, it's really long. But what did you just turn on with it?

Farnsworth - Oh, that's just the What-If machine I invented. You pose it a What-If question and it generates a video simulation of what would happen.

Fry - Does it really work?

Farnsworth - Of course it works! [He bashes Fry on the nose with the fing-longer.] It's just not very long.

Bender - Ooh! Ooh! [He rubs his hands together.] I wanna aks it a question! [He speaks into the the microphone of the What-If machine.] As a robot living among humans, I've never really felt accepted at parties or nude beaches. So I've always secretly wondered: What if...

Hermes - Sweet Bongo of the Congo!  You have deliveries to make!  Stop humoring the Professor and get to work!

Fry - But Hermes, we were just going to ask it a What If Question.

Hermes - I have a What If question.  What if you did your job and delivered this package instead of going on wacky adventures every week?

Zoidberg - Let's Watch, shall we?

Sign up Below if you are interested and plan to actually participate, sadly Josh's game had to get cancelled.  However this game will have less players so maybe that will help.  I'll leave sign ups open until next week and hopefully mafia isn't dead here.

Players: Set up for 15 players but I can do slightly less or more depending on interest.
