  1. All the more reason to embrace chaos and claim the FCS winner is the only true national champion.
  2. According to Sheffield United's (Saudi prince) owner, he's improved as a manager since he left Sheffield United. I must've missed that when he was fumbling the bag at Middlesbrough and getting relegation form results with Watford.
  3. I don't get why you'd turn to Wilder, given his pretty terrible record in the Championship since he left Sheffield United the first time. Reeks of either running out of ideas or hope (or both) to try and survive this season.
  4. FSU being left out is a fitting end for what's a pretty terrible playoff format. I guess 12 teams is better but if it's still being decided by committee you're still going to get teams left out for what feels like spurious reasons.
  5. If he sees three Spurs players around Grealish he's well within his rights to decide there is no advantage and bring it back. The only 'mistake' he makes is hesitating - he initially goes to blow his whistle, then indicates advantage, then whistles. That's a relatively small mistake compared to say... Erling Haaland missing an open goal to put Man City 2-1 up, which has ultimately cost them victory. City fans and players won't examine that though, because they can blame the ref for not playing on. Right but what they want doesn't really matter. They got what they were allowed under the rules - ref doesn't have to play advantage at all, ever. And rather than deal with that, take the free kick and play on, you get most of Man City's team surrounding the ref that if any other team did it, they'd be charged and fined.
  6. The referee has played that correctly. He's under no obligation to let Grealish run through, especially if he thinks he's offside or if he sees that there are three players around him, which there are. At that point, there is no advantage gained by playing on and he has to bring it back. It's good refereeing that everyone will call a mistake because they want to see a last gasp winner.
  7. Wales won't get there, Estonia strong.
  8. I was so upset that I finished .500 that I moved the Angels out of Los Angeles Anaheim and to a new city: I'm sure it'll go well.
  9. 2023 Astros on a casual 26 game winning streak.
  10. It is now 44 races since Ross Brawn said that 'mid-table teams will be fighting for wins in 2022'. In that time, Red Bull have won 38 races, Ferrari 5 and Mercedes 1.
  11. Incredible. How's he managed to get Chiellini on?
  12. If Swansea had kept Morgan Whittaker, they'd be in the playoff fight.
  13. Sure, same with United. But I imagine they may have voted with that in mind.
  14. Surprised it was only 7 given that there's a lot more than that involved in multiclub ownership: Arsenal owners: 2 clubs Villa owners: 4 clubs Bournemouth: 3 clubs Brentford: formerly 2 clubs, now 1 Brighton: 2 clubs Chelsea: 2 clubs Palace: 4 clubs Everton: 8 clubs including minority stakes Man City: 12 clubs Man Utd: 3 clubs including minority stakes Newcastle: at least 5 clubs Forest: 2 clubs Sheffield: 5 clubs Spurs: formerly 5 clubs, now 1 Wolves: 1 club, linked to takeovers of others Shoutout Enic for being early pioneers in multiclub ownership - they owned stakes in 5 clubs starting in the 90s.
  15. Yet another example of how it's not VAR that's the problem, it's the referees.
  16. Precedent was set with regards to relegation lawsuits by the failure of the Sheffield United one against West Ham for the Tevez stuff, one would imagine.
  17. Gareth Southgate has listened to criticism about not picking players who are out of form or playing at clubs that shouldn't really warrant an England call up and he has...
  18. People are surprised at the increased rate of injuries, but it's something that's happening irl, with 20% more injuries in the 21/22 season compared to 20/21, and the injury rate is only increasing - there were 4 ACL injuries in the Premier League last season, thus far this season, there's been 5 already.
  19. Managers are always like this. Klopp and Pep banged the drum incredibly hard to be allowed to use 5 subs in the leadup to a Liverpool vs City where they... both used only 1 sub each.
  20. https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/327 This mod gets rid of the party limit if you want to give it another go with more people to potentially make it easier.
  21. Vaguely reminds me of a Spurs-Chelsea game a few years back where one team just completely lost their heads late on.
  22. More inconsistent refereeing again today. The one time holding in the box actually gets called.
  23. Oh hey, two Fury robberies in about as many weeks. And people wonder why boxing is a declining sport.
