  1. You're spot on with that. I don't know whose call it is to make on such issues but the Bears' staff left Cutler out to dry the way they dealt with it. For a good deal of time no-one seemed to know why Jay was out of the game which made the injury sound like an excuse when it finally did come out.
  2. There's no doubt in my mind that Cutler's physically tough. One of my favorite plays from last season was the Cutler-copter against the Lions. It's his mental toughness I worry about. When the going gets tough his face becomes even more miserable than usual and his body language is terrible. Earlier one someone pointed out the fact that, against the Redskins, Cutler threw four INTs to the same guy as a sign of mental toughness. To me that shows weakness, not strength. Part of mental toughness is realizing when something isn't working and getting away from it. Having said that Cutler is young, and with all we traded for him it'd be a stupid move to ditch him now. Another season or two with an improved o-line and wide receiving core, plus Mike Martz's guidance and Cutler could still become a very good QB. He just needs to realize that he has potential and not that his potential has been realized.
  3. Fuck that noise. SEVENBURGH! From what I heard, doctors kept Cutelr out, who had actually asked back in. It was odd seeing him walking around on the sideline and using the stationary bike. I really, really hope Todd Collins "played" his last game in a Bears jersey last night, I've seen statues with better mobility. He doesn't even contribute anything through the old "veteran mentor" role because he fucking sucks. Hats off to the D, they did enough to keep it close, just a shame Hanie didn't start >_> I have no idea why we signed Collins in the first place. Hanie's always looked sharp when he's got the chance. I'd rather have Matt Forte at QB than Todd Collins. They're saying Cutler had a torn MCL now so at least it's a legit injury. The thing that really bothered me though was how he didn't seem to be offering advice to Collins or Hanie while they were in, like we saw Rodgers do with Matt Flynn against the Patriots. Maybe he did, but if he did I didn't see it.
  4. The guy threw 4 interceptions to one guy in on game and he stayed in. I doubt he went out because he couldn't handle the pressure. That was nowhere near the level of game this was though. This was the NFC Championship against the Bears biggest rivals, with a spot in the Super Bowl at stake. His body language was dreadful whilst he was on the field, and when he was pulled he just sat on the bench communicating with no-one. I'm not saying Cutler threw in the towel, but I do think that something happened other than an injury.
  5. Hanie's always looked pretty good in the limited amount of snaps I've seen him play. I've always tried to defend Cutler since he came to Chicago but I have to wonder if he cried his way out of the game because he couldn't handle the pressure. He certainly didn't seem that injured. I think we're one more bad Jay Cutler performance away, right or wrong, from a QB controversy in Chicago.

  7. He told NFL creative to write it that way. Roger Goodell was said to be in a groin grabbingly foul mood.
  8. Especially if they were picture messages.
  9. Good call here by Lovie. I remember before the bye week some fans were calling for him to be fired, and they had a point. Since then though he's been doing a great job.
  10. Agreed. The Bears can't just roll over and let the Packers into the playoffs. That could come back to haunt us.
  11. Caution to all the lady fans in the first three rows. You *will* get wet.
  12. If football games were won and lost by morality and virginity we'd be better than all of you! Ah, Tebow, how many times have you saved Denver's butt?
  13. Fuck it, I'm going to watch Police Squad now before I go to sleep.
  14. I'm a huge fan of Police Squad, Naked Gun, Airplane, at al so I'm pretty bummed to hear Leslie's died. He had a good innings though and at least he passed away peacefully. RIP Leslie.

    You are correct Human Kyke!
  16. C4 Should be a good game but it depends if the Saints show up or not.
  17. Have you read Never Die Easy? It's a great autobiography with quotes from Walter's friends and family. The section about his death had me tearing up which is the only time I've ever done that reading a book.
  18. Wow, talk about overboard ... Usain Fucking Bolt only gets up to 22-23 tops and he's nowhere near a brick wall. I agree with DMN on the NFL "pussifying" itself for well over a decade. However, there is a line that needs to be drawn. It's overboard? I guess I'll have to cancel my meeting with Roger Goodell then. My point was that those who take cheap shots (i.e. the Meriweather hit) aren't playing football, they're committing what is tantamount to assault. I have no problem with hard tackling but hitting an opponent in that manner definitely deserves a suspension. American football is a contact sport, not a combat sport. Edit: The NFL have just posted a video about the issue - http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81b811df/article/nfls-video-message-to-players-on-hits-you-are-on-notice?module=HP_headlines
  19. I think I have an answer to this problem. First you round up all these assholes who are complaining about not being able to dish out cheap shots. Then you tie their hands behind their back. Next you make them run full speed, head first into a brick wall that's moving towards them at 30mph. I guarantee after that they'll change their tune in a big fucking hurry.
  20. I have to admit I was tempted to stick some money on the Raiders this week. They were 5/2 at William Hill which is insane for two quite evenly matched teams.
  21. After a crappy week in my Pick 'Em League I share this kid's pain.
  22. 1. Last Exit to Springfield (Season 4) "Dental Plan!" "Lisa need braces!" "Dental Plan!" "Lisa need braces!" "Dental Plan!" "Lisa need braces!" "Dental Plan!" "Lisa need braces!" "Dental Plan!" "Lisa need braces!" 2. Homer's Barbershop Quartet (Season 5) I love The Beatles and this is a great parody. Plus "Baby on Board" might be my favourite Simpsons song. 3. Mr. Plow (Season 4) "You are fully bonded and licensed by the city, aren't you, Mr. Plow?" "Shut up boy!" 4. Cape Feare (Season 5) *Steps on a rake* "Eeeughhrhh" *Steps on a rake* "Eeeughhrhh" *Steps on a rake* "Eeeughhrhh". 5. And Maggie Makes Three (Season 6) "Do it for her" 6. You Only Move Twice (Season 8) Beware of... Scorpio! His twisted twin obsessions are his plot to rule the world And his employee's health. 7. Mother Simpson (Season 7) Contains one of my favourite sentimental moments in The Simpsons at the end where Homer is sat on the hood of his car looking at the stars. 8. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? (Season 2) Danny DeVito was great as Herb, Homer's long lost half-brother. Also the episode ends on a nice little bonding moment between Bart and Homer. 9. Grade School Confidential (Season 8) "I'm going to do what Bart should have told me to do a long time ago." 10. Homer Badman (Season 6) "He's Rowdy Roddy Peeper!"
  23. Only if they listen to their fans and put Carr in at QB.
  24. Every party member in Digital Devil Saga 2 dies at various points throughout the game.
