I've played both, both are very good games. But you can't go wrong with ESPN's price. ESPN is online, has an awesome Franchise and very solid gameplay. I would recommend ESPN, and perhaps pick Madden up when it drops to Platinum Hit price.

Without A Paddle if you like comedies, if not, I recommend Collateral.
