The Barclays Premier League Thread 2014/2015

It sounds stupid, but the guy is 19 years old so if he'd started watching football when he was 8 years old he'd have never seen an Arsenal match with Tony Adams. -

Why can't footballers just wear black boots with black laces like in the good old days? -
oh my god

Wait, by pushing it to PS4 does that mean there's no longer a PS3 version? Because that's pretty much the only reason I still have my PS3.

What sort of monster doesn't go and visit their mum every once in a while without needing football as an excuse -

I'm guessing the intention is to loan BAE out to a Championship club considering their loan window goes on for about a week after the transfer deadline. -

Don't fall asleep Spurs and Villa fans, I've heard there's a remarkable transfer still to go. -

I honestly think you can only blame Sky for sticking their reporters in front of pissed folk late at night with a few people wanting their five seconds of fame. I'd rather another dozen 'fuck her right in the pussy's than seeing Lee Nelson again. If you turn it into you circus you should expect clowns. Exactly, it's a public place and as long as they don't do anything criminal you can't exactly tell them to move from the area. Public nuisance laws disagree with you. Well yes, but that'd be a matter for the police to deal with. And technically the area wouldn't be a public place, the land just outside of the training ground would presumably belong to the clubs themselves. You could say fans shouldn't be outside there, but neither should Sky Sports reporters. -

He spent enough time in Spain to be naturalised. I thought it was 3 years in Spain to be naturalised, and he was only there for two. -

Did Falcao ever stay in a European country long enough to be naturalised? I mean he's Colombian and surely that'd lead to him needing a work permit pushed through in the space of 24 hours. -

It's sort of cute that Spurs fans think that there's some strange deals today when Levy breaks the squad on the last day of the transfer window every Summer. No replacement for Berbatov? Away you go. No direct replacement for Bale? Away you go. No direct replacement for Sandro or Holtby? Away you go. If Spurs want to progress anywhere anytime soon, Levy needs to go. -

Yet somehow can't afford to keep Kagawa, Nani or Hernandez on the bench in case they get a few injury problems. On the plus side, United are going to be very entertaining to watch this season. -

Fair enough then, it's the British Red Cross and I expect someone to remember this at the end of the season and remind you if that's the case. I'd be happy to do my part of the deal if you're willing to do yours -

There are people in the year 2014 who seriously believe Walcott will last the season without a major injury? -

I'm guessing the line of thinking is that Negredo is a great like-for-like replacement for Aguero when he's injured or needed subbed, unfortunately Negredo was injured just as much if not more than Aguero. But replacing him with a great, yet injury prone player seems ridiculous. -

The jokes on you though, you won't be able to watch the match with the same awe and wonder that you'd have got by watching it blind. Now you're waiting for the goals to coming in with a sickening sense of inevitability, the best match of the season so far turning into a monotonous game of "are we there yet?" And it's all your fault because you couldn't sit through another 45 minutes. Pah, football fans these days. -

Tbh, if the Rojo deal doesn't go through it's not exactly United's problem, it's Sporting's problem. Sporting financed his new contract by selling a part of the player to third party sponsors Doyen who already had a chunk of him, when it came to selling him Sporting decided that the third party sponsor 'voided' the agreement because they tried to sell him and gave the third party the original amount but not the amount they should have because of the contract. So it's probably going to be a very messy legal case where Sporting get sued for an obscene amount of money. But yes here's an in depth summary by some smart guys on reddit it doesn't explain what happened since he's been signed, but it's just a complete mess and it could end up like a John Obi Mikel situation. -

Torres loan has been agreed He's going on a two year loan, so presumably until the end of his contract. -
Worse than that, as far as I can tell with the Nintendo accounts system, games are tied to the console and not the account, so if you bought a new 3DS you'd lose all your digital content.

It'd be tragic if Rojo ends up not getting a work permit and thus having to miss the first half of the season until he can be registered again. Or can they just register him and then keep pushing away at the work permit appeal button throughout the season? -
