  1. Fair enough, my mistake and I'll do more research into games before buying them from now on (saying that, it's still pretty fun) I just hope their talking about classic controllers means that Xenoblade Chronicles gets a port, I'd happily pay £20 to support the developers because it was impossible to get a copy a few years ago when I was interested in it (and discovered homebrew )
  2. Heads up folks, that Nintendo Direct might be a little misleading because when I come to actually play Galaxy 2 it requires a Wiimote and Nunchuck. I get the feeling it said that they'll be patching it in the future, but it threw me for a loop because now I have to charge up some AA batteries before I can play it.
  3. See this is great, I bought maybe one or two Wii games before softmodding it and pirating everything else but the £9 price point is so sweet that I can see myself spending a ton on the VC over this year. What bugs me is that if only they did something like this last Summer they'd be rolling in the cash, but I guess it's taken a while to finally mash together the Wii and Wii U firmware.
  4. £10 for the metroid prime trilogy? And there was me thinking that they'd stick absolutely stupid prices on them because they're Wii games, but prices like that are cheap enough to justify getting a bunch of them just for convenience. I wonder if this means they're changing their entire pricing structure system, because it'd be a hard sell to charge more than £10 for N64 or GameCube games after this. EDIT: Even better actually, Mario Galaxy 2 is £8.99 for a week and then £17.99, so £9 for Metroid Trilogy is a complete steal.
  5. I thought Pushemo World or whatever it was called was the first Cross Buy game? Also that Xenoblade game looks like the greatest thing ever and I'm finally feeling it.
  6. £14m for Defoe might actually be a worse deal than £35m Andy Carroll.
  7. That's always a good start. Because the girl went to the hotel with McDonald, whereas Evans walked into the room where she was when McDonald wasn't in the room. Consenting to one person doesn't automatically mean you consent to everybody who thinks they can join in. The evidence points to the girl being too drunk to fight off Evans, but she doesn't fight off McDonald because he's the one who she consented to in the first place.
  8. To be honest, "but Lee Hughes actually KILLED people..." isn't really a good excuse either because Lee Hughes really shouldn't have been allowed back into football either, especially when drink driving can also catastrophically change the lives of those affected by it, even those not involved in the incident. It's just really hard to sympathise with an unrepentant, convicted rapist, currently dating a millionaire not being able to walk back into his career.
  9. Bony will do fine there, and it seems like City are the only club to realistically spend what Swansea want for him so I guess everyone wins.
  10. Still a year too late, he should have done the honourable thing and retired at the end of last year but presumably he didn't think that Liverpool would do THIS badly and that he'd be needed for padding out their Champions League squad.
  11. Why is that supposedly a good thing? Because he had potential in Football Manager? He's bagged a few goals for Arsenal in 2 years and would be a horrible signing for a team with a much weaker midfield and much less chances per game.
  12. In a move set to anger Liverpool supporters, the Telegraph are reporting that Man City are preparing a £30m bid for Wilfried Bony
  13. I thought that last time was an actual hack, whereas this was a DDoS. They stored account information in unencrypted text files so they did anything they could to stop the overwhelmingly negative PR, whereas they'll probably bump anyone affected by this onto a free week of PS+ or something.
  14. Is it top three because that's literally all there is?
  15. Little Mac is far too fun to play as, he's got some blinding weaknesses that makes him awful to main but just pummeling the shit out of people feels much more satisfying than any FALCON PAUNCH!!!!~!!! In fact why don't we have a Smash thread? It sounds like it'd be more active than the GTA V forum.
  16. If the stats were switched Liverpool fans would be saying they didn't get a dodgy point, it just showed that they had the most clinical strikers.
  17. Maybe if the guy showed a single shred of remorse about the whole situation he might still have a small chance of being employed by some club within the Football League. And if he legally can't do that because he's trying to sort out some sort of retrial or appeal then he shouldn't be in the public eye anyway because it'll influence their decision.
  18. As far as power rankings go with me it's Ness King DeDeDe Duck Hunt Duo Pikachu Kirby Link People really neglect King DeDeDe and you just need to play as him a few times to realise how fun he is.
  19. Censorship is a much deeper issue than that though, and it's not like gamers are the only people to get pissy that a piece of media doesn't fit the criteria to be allowed to be sold uncut. Film and literature have been constantly pushing the envelope for decades when it comes to the art/bad taste debate, and when you consider that films such as '120 days of Sodom' and 'A Serbian Film' have passed despite some of their content easily crossing the barrier of bad taste, it seems strange for a video game to become completely irredeemable. The real reason why I feel it's been taken down from Steam is because as it's still in alpha/beta it's not in it's finished form and thus cannot be rated by PEGI or the US board, so if there's a chance that it becomes 'unrated' then it'll become a problem to be sold on steam. This naturally doesn't matter to games like Minecraft or Terraria or whatever that are going to fall roughly in the spectrum of 3+ to 16+, but I don't think there's been a single obvious 18+ game in greenlight before now and that's probably why Steam is getting cold feet about allowing 'pre-orders' it before it's rated.
  20. Because he isn't anywhere as good as people have been making out and now he's out of his little purple patch he'll be as significant as David Bentley at Spurs.
  21. It's just so strange to see everyone on here defending the decision until 2K changed their mind. Community Creations have been a cesspool of copyrighted content with fairly lax restrictions bar certain names for years now, so to turn around and ban something and kick players out of playing online games without explicitly saying that they didn't want Benoit caws was a ridiculous knee jerk reaction. Plenty of people on here would be fairly pissed if they were banned without warning for two weeks for making a Spiderman CAW because Marvel issued a takedown.
  22. So Smash Bros is eh... alright I guess. Nowhere as fun to play as Mario Kart 8, and feels really weird to play on a pro-controller so I've ended up using the gamecube controller adapter. Saying that, I've yet to set up a multiplayer game yet and I'm finding it weird to adapt to some characters so maybe it'll turn into a great game in time. edit: I will add however that getting an Amiibo to play around with has been fun, no longer do I have to worry about grinding coins because I can just set it up to play an 8 man smash game with 99 stock lives overnight and suddenly I have about 3000+ coins.
  23. I had no idea that Darren Bent was still contracted to Villa until today.
