  1. Spiderman Across the Spider-Verse spoilers:

    Spoiler

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK CLIFFHANGERS! Seriously! When Spider-Gwen puts the team together to help out Miles, I thought this was the perfect moment to quickly take a piss before the climactic battle begins! So I quickly sneak out to relieve myself and as I come out of the toilets, I see audience members who I watche the movie with coming my way and I return to the cinema, the credits are already playing. I know I didn't miss much, probably a minute or two, but it was still annoying.

The movie was awesome otherwise though. About on-part with the first one.

  2. Jason Momoa was the best thing about that entire movie! If anything, I feel like Vin Diesel's character having no counterpart for his seriousness and stoicism ever since Paul Walker died is a big problem. I had hoped that either Dwayne Johnson or Lucas Black would take Walker's place eventually. But Johnson and Diesel had a very public falling out and Lucas Black has barely been part of the franchise, only making cameos. So for the most part it has been Diesel doing his own thing by himself (or sometimes accompanied by Michelle Rodriguez whose character is almost as stone-faced and dour as Diesel's is) while the rest of the crew usually gets their own subplot and they only ever interact for the big action set pieces.

And Diesel on his own just isn't fun to watch, particularly when his performance is somehow getting more serious and earnest while the movies get more outlandish and over the top with each new instalment. That issue was really noticeable in the last movie in which John Cena was playing the antagonist and they had him act just as serious and dour as Vin Diesel. It was awful. The franchise was in serious need for someone to balance out Diesel and they found just the right person in Momoa. I really hope that the director and the producers tell Diesel to fuck of when he inevitably throws another tantrum and tried to get Momoa fired or get him to tone down his performance..

  3. Succession S02E08 spoilers:

    Spoiler

In my book Kendall Roy deserves to never take over his dad's company simply for that rap. Jesus fucking Christ on a stick! I mean, that has to be up there with stuff like Skylar singing Happy Birthday on Breaking Bad as one of the most cringeworthy moments in TV history.

  4. Fast X Spoilers:

    Spoiler

These bastards really went and ended the movie on a goddamn cliffhanger!

Also The Rock is going to be back for the last one! I can't wait for that!

And Jason Momoa is the best bad guy in that entire franchise by far.

Furthermore they finally allow John Cena to cut loose and be John Cena for a bit after his disappointing performance as the bad guy in the last one.

I dunno if that's glitched for me already tbh.

I came across the bounty hunter where she showed up after and I got the first puck thing, and the rumour to talk to her at the saloon, but anytime I visit her she never actually talks, just offers the shop and the rumour sits there unwilling to be completed.

    Spoiler

Sometimes you just have to leave the Saloon and come back later for her to tell you about bounties. I could never go back to her immediately after defeating one bounty hunter and get the next location right away.

  6. A PSA regarding a 100% game completion progress-halting bug in the bounty hunting side-activity:

    Spoiler

At some point in the story, Caij, will pass on to you the location of a bounty hunter names Killi Osso . This is supposed to happen after you have taken out 14 bounty hunters. Unfortunately, there is a bug where she will tell you that rumor before you have killed 14 bounty hunters. If that happens to you, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO AND FIGHT HIM! If you do so, Caij will stop telling you about the locations of other bounty hunters afterward. I'm currently stuck at 11/16 defeated bounty hunters and she won't talk to me anymore. And finding the locations by using a guide don't work either as the bounty hunters simply didn't spawn.

  7. As per her official Facebook page and a statement made by her publicist, the legendary singer passed away at age 83 in her home in Switzerland after a long illness.

My first memory of Tina Turner was watching her perform the theme song for the James Bond movie Goldeneye live one some TV show and it blowing me away. It is my favorite Bond opening song to this day. R.I.P. to a brilliant singer and and absolute legend. :crying:

  8. My pick for worst cover ever would be former Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen cover of Whitesnake's Still Of The Night. It is a baffling pick of a song to cover as it doesn't fit her singing style at all and the and the cover turns out to be terrible. The weirdest choice they made was messing around with the main riff which is one of the best parts of the song:

  9. So my favorite anime this season by far is Insomniacs After School. As the name suggests, the anime is about two high school students who both suffer from Insomnia. One day, Ganta Nakami stumbles upon the school's abandoned astronomical observatory. While trying to take a nap in there, he meets fellow insomniac Isaki Magari who has been taking naps there for a while. They both decide to turn the place into their personal sleeping spot at school. They eventually get discovered by a teacher and in order to continue to use the room, they have to resurrect the school's astronomy club together. It is really sweet. But in today's episode, one of two says something ominous:

    Spoiler

Aside from studying the stars, Ganta has also been doing night-tome photography as part of club activities. He is taking pictures of the night sky and wants to submit the best one to a local photography contest. As is the norm for that kind of anime, he has developed feelings for Isaki and took some pictures of her as well. After meeting her for lunch and showing them to her, she tells him to continue to take pictures of her  and to "Leave a trace of me behind" as they are about to part ways.

She is going to die, isn't she? It is going to be revealed that her insomnia is the symptom of some kind of fatal disease and she will not live to see the end of the story, right? :crying: If so, I think I'm going to drop this because I'm not in the mood for a story like that.

  10. Last place for Germany again. I really thought that this year we had a chance to at least make it to the 2nd column. I figured the juries wouldn't appreciate Metal but I hopped the audiences would enjoy it more than they did. Oh well. See y'all again next year.

  11. Indeed. It would be terrible if Eurovision became political. Anyway, I'm looking forward to hear the Croatian entry again tomorrow which is not political at all and certainly not made in response to any current geopolitical events:

No sir, no politics here.

  12. I feel like it might have something to do with 2K putting out decent WWE games again. When work started on Fight Forever, the WWE 2K series was in crisis after the botched release of WWE 2K20 and they were forced to take 2 years off. That really was the perfect time to start a new wrestling game franchise. But then the WWE 2K series made it's comeback in 2022 and it appeared like Visual Concepts had turned over a new leaf with their wrestling games as both 2K22 and 2K23 are getting good reviews. Maybe the developers at Yukes think that what they have isn't enough to compete with the new 2K games and that is why they keep delaying and adding new stuff.

  13. I bought Jedi: Survivor a few  this a few days and I'm finally starting it now. And right away I'm noticing the same thing as I did when I first booted up Horizon: Forbidden West: The recap video of Fallen Order that plays automatically when you start the game is awful. If I was a new player, I'd be completely lost. Hell, even as someone who has played Fallen Order I'd still would have been lost if I hadn't just watched a recap video on Youtube to refresh my memory.

If anyone here wants to skip Fallen order for whatever reason and  jump into the series with Survivor: Look up one of the video recaps on Youtube.

  14. I have to concur with Chris2K's opinion. The movie was really good. Unlike Taika Waititi, James Gunn still delivers. I'm sad to see him go from the MCU but I'm also curious to see his vision for the DCEU once this writer's strike is sorted out (hopefully in favor of the writers).

  15. Who cares about what Springer's intentions were? Maybe his approach to daytime talk shows was a bit more humane than that of his contemporaries or the people he inspired like Jeremy Kyle. But the end results were the same. The guests were still allowed to humiliate themselves in front of a jeering audience in the studio and in front of TV screens. I just fail to see anything good that came from that show. If he truly cared about his guests, he shouldn't have done the show to begin with.

  16. What is happening? Why are we suddenly tying ourselves in knots trying to find something noble and altruistic about the TV show that he moderated? The Jerry Springer show is the last show on earth in need of critical re-evaluation. It is a show about exposing those living a the margins on national TV (often pitting them against each other) for the rest of the nation to gawk and laugh at. Lowest common denominator bullshit that people watch to feel better about themselves because even if there are things going wrong with their lives, at least they're still doing better than the people on the show. It was deeply exploitative and shouldn't be celebrated. And while I agree with the embedded tweet above stating that it is a bad faith argument to say that the show is somehow the root of all of America's problems, I still think the show was deeply exploitative and shouldn't be celebrated.

  17. So I finished the Burning Shores DLC. Spoilers ahead:

    Spoiler

It was a fun experience. The main quest line was well designed and enjoyable. I thought Seyka was great and I found her and Aloy's romance adorable. I loved finally being able to fight a Horus. I've been wanting to do that ever since they were introduced in Zero Dawn and I still remember being disappointed that they didn't bring one back to life like they did here in that game. The Waterwings that can fly and dive underwater are cool addition to the game and those new frog Machines they added are formidable enemies. And that brings us to the negatives:

Outside of the main story, there is not much else to do other than three side quests and some collectables. And that is weird given how big the map is. I've read that it is about 1/3 of the main map. And large parts of it just go unused. And while the ability to dive with the waterwings is cool, they really didn't give any reason to use it outside of the main quest. Walter Londra was just another cliche, moustache-twirling bad guy just like the other Far Zenith members that we have met that aren't Tilda. I really wish that they would have made him stand out from the rest of the Far Zenith guys a bit more. There are also some bugs still left in the game. If you do the Areal Capture quests in the wrong order, you can't progress the quest at some point. There is also Datapoint that doesn't unlock when it is supposed to during one of the main quests.

Edit: Turns out I wasn't quite done yet. There is an epilogue. One final moment with Lance Reddick as Sylens. It is very bittersweet. I hope they re-cast the character and bring his character arc to fruition (with the blessing of his family of course).

Overall I'd say it is worth getting if you enjoyed the main game.
