  1. I'm warming up to the Rings Of Power now that things finally got going.

    Spoiler

I'm looking forward to seeing Sauron outside of his armor and the prospect of getting to witness the Downfall of Númenor has me excited as well. I still don't know what to make out of the Hobbit sub-plot.

And do we really need to shoehorn a tragic elf/non-elf romance into every talking adaptation?

  2. The new Blind Guardian album is out and it is really good! If you think the last few BG albums were too overloaded with orchestral elements, you should definitely check this out! They managed to strip down their sound for this album and harken back to their 90s glory days without sounding like they are just retreading old ground.

  3. The most important part here is that there might be no Community creations. Community Creations play a big part in the longevity of modern WWE games for even if the roster might be outdated, you could be sure that within weeks you can download a bunch of CAWs of the missing wrestlers that look just as good as, and in a lot of cases even better than, the official models. The lack combined with some big names missing from the roster could be a deal-breaker as I'm not sure that people would be willing to go back to look for CAW-formulars and then build those wrestlers themselves like they had to in the past.

  4. I'm in the same boat. A visually very impressive show that is lacking in substance. And the episodes go on for too long. You could cut both episodes down to half an hour and would loose nothing of importance.

On certain aspect I find heard to believe is that

    Spoiler

both Galadriel and Elrond would be treated with such little respect by the other elves.

  5. Weren't there reports that there was some kind of conflict between Kenny Omega and Yukes a while back? Maybe the decision to cut some of the bigger names and release them as DLC was played into that as well?

I'll never forget in Breaking Bad they basically forced this in to the series finale for all the people who still clung to "Walt's the hero"

He's sitting there in Skyler's apartment and says, in a kind of odd line of dialogue, that he didn't do this for his family he did all of this for himself. It felt very forced in and seemed like Vince Gilligan was well aware people took his outward justification he was doing this for his family as truthful.

    Spoiler

That didn't feel forced to me me at all. I thought him finally admitting to Skyler (and probably to himself as well) that he is just a selfish prick was one of the strongest moments of that season for me.

  7. WW is one of those characters you shouldn't idolize, but a lot of people do anyway. See also Tyler Durden, Rorschach, Rick Sanchez, Travis Bickle, Tony Montana, Thanos, Don Draper, Tony Soprano, Jordan Belfort, Ledger's as well as Phoenix's Joker and the like.

No doubt. But then again, I prefer to pretend 5 and 6 didn't happen (and thanks to Kills....they didn't!), because 5 wasn't a good movie, and the whole Thorn Cult curse thing was CRAP.

That cult never made sense to me. What was their goal? And why the hell did it involve Myers impregnating his own niece?

Oh, you'll get no argument from me. But I'd still rather watch H20 5 times over than watch Halloween Kills again just once.

I'm not saying H20 was bad. I enjoyed it. Probably the best Helloween movie since the 2nd one and the ending worked for me. It would have been a decent conclusion for the franchise. Unfortunately it was a financial success which let to that pointless sequel being made.

  10. Have you seen the theatrical cut of Halloween 6 or the producer's cut? The theatrical cut is a huge mess. The producer's cut doesn't make the movie much better, just more coherent.

And there are 5 timelines in the franchise:

    1. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 (Thorn timeline)
    2. 3 (Shamrock timeline in which the original movie is played on a TV in the background of a scene)
    3. 1, 2, H20, Resurrection
    4. The Rob Zombie remake timeline
    5. 1, Halloween 2018, Kills, Ends

He actually gets karate kicked and electrocuted, then left behind in a burning garage. At the very end he wakes back up on the coroner's table.

My bad. I misremembered that scene. It is a shovel that Rhymes hits Myers with after he shouts "Trick or treat, motherfucker!" at him. It was a bizarre movie. I kinda wanted them to make a follow-up to it just to see what zany stuff they would have come up with next.

  12. Spoiler

Y'all think this is the last we see of Gene Takavic? I'm not sure. I don't really trust the cab driver. I also feel like Saul's whole "mutual assured destruction" strategy is a bit weak. I'm pretty sure the guy will get off easy if he can provide the current whereabouts of Saul Goodman to the police if he gets caught.
