  1. Please no. I hate the Benham clubs enough as it is. Robin Olsen to Villa makes sense. Villas Director of Football is Johan Lange who used to be assistant to Ståle Solbakken (remember him Wolves?) at Copenhagen, and Robin Olsen have never managed to replicate the success he had there.
  2. Compared to Brentfords now former DOF (who is now DOF at Southampton), Frank is actually not too bad. The former DOF also was part time chairman in Benhams other club Midtjylland. His most infamous quote was something about "Table of Justice" and that the league table at that time was lying (Midtjylland had won 1 out of 9 games at that point).
  3. He's gonna end up at PSG and meanwhile FFP is being brought behind the tool shed and getting you know what
  4. So two danish clubs in the Euro League (No way in hell that Brondby make it past Salzburg)
  5. The fact that Larne sent the second city of Denmarks best team out of the competition makes me smile. "Do you know Larne?" no But Aarhus sure does 😅
  6. Update on the story: The club have loaned Wright out to Antalyaspor as expected. But they have also added an extra year to the existing contract. Basically telling him: "You get to show off yourself in a foreign market. But if they dont want to pay for your services going forward, then you still have to play for us two seasons after this loan deal." also known as the "Oh you thought you were getting off easy after making fools out of us?" approach.
  7. This is one of the stranger transfer saga's i have seen in a while. Former Schalke player and american under 21 player Haji Wright have left danish club SønderjyskE. Or rather. He haven't left the club via a transfer. He have just left. Then he pops up in Antalyaspor in Turkey. Then that club announces him as a loanee signing with a purchase option, even though SønderjyskE have not confirmed that the deal is anywhere near done and still hold his player certificate. Wright who was pissed that SønderjyskE didnt sell him to Malmö in the winter transfer window, had made it pretty clear that he wanted away asap. Wright never reported for the preseason, and as stated turned up in Antalya instead. Here he has already played in a training match, even though his certificate as a player still is at the club to whom he is under contract. The californian is playing a dangerous game right now. Strike 1: He have committed breach of contract by staying away from the preseason without reason Strike 2: He turns up in Turkey and is presented as a new player, even though the deal is nothing near done Strike 3 (and this is a big one) He plays a training match for the new "club" If he had picked up any serious injury. SønderjyskE wont have to pay him anything because he have represented a club to which he is not under a contract and that doesnt even have his certificate. So if the worst case scenario happens to the player. The club that he is (at time of this writing) under contract to, can tear up his contract and not owe him a single dime. The club (SønderjyskE) can in fact apply for compensation from the player. Haji. You really fucked up
  8. 🤢 it most likely is. Only other 31 year old they have on their books is Fabian Delph...
  9. so Midtjylland told Rennes to put out a better offer for Cajuste. Rennes went and got Kamaldeen Sulemana for 15 mill € at Nordsjaelland instead.
  10. The unofficial reason for this format was that UEFA at the time only had bids from Turkey, Azerbaijan/Georgia and later Wales/Scotland/Ireland. Azerbaijan as host were ruled out after IOC rejected them for the Olympics. Dunno why Turkey wasnt deemed good enough (wait...actually i do)
  11. Esbjerg in the danish second tier have loaned four players from Barnsley for six months: Matthew Wolfe, Jordan Helliwell, Charlie Winfield og Steven Simpson Anybody knowing anything about these guys?
  12. I pretty much expected this. UEFA have really not looked great whenever they have been supposed to be great during this tournament. This is just another one. But if i have to give them credit. I wouldnt really known what else could suffice ¨¯_(ツ)_/¯
  13. Well. The FA got a 30.000€ fine for the behavior of some of the english fans on wednesday. When Hungarian fans behaved badly, UEFA sent the Hungarian FA a 100k € fine and three home games without fans (so England fans, doesn't have to bother travelling to Budapest in September). Granted this was because of anti LGBTQ banners (in just about all group games) and racistic remarks (especially towards France)
  14. He got what he wanted didnt he? Now why cant he just wander back to whatever (oh wait. Hes from Hammersmith?) well. Why cant he just piss off
  15. i have been in a lot of discussions about one-hit wonders and earworms lately. Some are quite hideous (Dr.Bombay, Basshunter etc.)
  16. to be honest. Im surprised UEFA are doing this. And you are absolutely right Malenko. ☺️
  17. im not upset by the pen or the loss. We played a better team. The laser pen thing was not cool at all though. Take that garbage back to WWF 1998-99. As i wrote yesterday. Denmark were playing with house money. We got out of the group stage, we advanced from a round of 16 for the first time since Glenn Hoddle was coach of England, we advanced from a quarterfinal for the first time since Platini was a star player (1984). And all that while our talismanic midfielder have likely played his last game at this level Denmark died with their boots on. And that Damsgaard goal. DAYM! EDIT: spoke too soon
  18. I have been very surprised how Denmark have been able to switch formations during a game (like against Wales). We didnt do that stuff back when Olsen was running the national team
  19. I wrote a bit about the game that is being played tonight https://danishpanda.medium.com/playing-with-house-money-6c923f155511
  20. Higher infection pressure in Russia than in Denmarkk, made it a risk to get Russians into Denmark for their group stage game. Lower infection pressure in Denmark than in England basically means that it is less risky with a Dane at Wembley than an Englishman. i hate bureaucracy sometimes. but: If the squad goes through and gets their hair done like Phil Foden if they win it all. Im all for an England victory
  21. I forgot that in 1992, it was straight from group stage to semi finals. So the last time Denmark advanced from a quarterfinal was Euro 1984 😵
  22. We (Denmark) are practically playing with house money and have for a while - Lost our most influential player. Possibly for good - Lost 2/3 group stage matches - Advanced nevertheless - Advanced from a knockout game for the first time since 1998 - Advanced from a quarterfinal for the first time since 1992 - And we dont look too bad in the ongoing qualifiers either That said we will probably not advance from the semis. But hey. I have been wrong before.
