So this whole Alan Williams thing is actually more mysterious than may have been previously expected. The raid on Halas Hall was debunked pretty quickly. And there is no real evidence his residence was raided either. Turns out, the rumors came from and spread amongst unverified Twitter sources. However, the Bears org has been uncharacteristically cagey about the reason for the resignation AND Williams did secure a lawyer. The lawyer is claiming that Williams is NOT under a criminal investigation. But of course that could just mean the investigation hasn't started yet and lawyers be lawyering.
