  1. I've got this (and Dying Light) coming soon so I'm excited to dig into it. I'm basically a novice with these things, having played about two hours of Dark Souls and an hour of Demons Souls so I'm definitely not going to be incredibly frustrated at the learning curve and give up immediately. No, sir.
  2. Any idea if there is a quicker way to skip songs or get to the spotify menu without suspending your game? I remember the music unlimited had something like that when I did the free trial when it first came out. Press the PS button and there should be some Spotify controls at the top. Think it's play/pause, skip and volume control. Axiom Verge is great but the third boss is kicking my tits in. I don't THINK I've missed anything so far since I've been pretty thorough with the searching but I can already tell that this is going to be a game with some wild business in it.
  3. GoT ep 3 is next week. As for Tales from the Borderlands, it's quickly becoming my favourite of their releases and we're only two episodes in. I love the space opera feel, love the dialogue, the characters, the jokes. And yeah, compared to GoT, it runs a lot better, less frame-rate drops, less bugs. I'll finish GoT because I have the season pass but it hasn't done a lot for me thus far.
  4. The US Flash Sale is pretty crazy. Everything is under a dollar so I've bought 17 games.
  5. I had an amazing plan in that LTS that involved me putting sticky bombs all over that jeep, jumping out at the last second and detonating it into someone but it never came to pass. One day. Anyway, I'm off to bed Also, I was never going to blow up those cars so I just wanted to see how fast that van could go whilst simultaneously hitting pedestrians. I don't play games to win.
  6. Save it and get a mic so you can talk to us on GTA. I bought one on eBay for about £3.50 so I can speak and sound like I'm hurtling through a wind tunnel at the same time.
  7. I won a football bet tonight and, because I'm an idiot, I'm going to spend it on this piece of shit.
  8. I haven't heisted yet so I'll jump in if people are playing. A-NICE-HAT, add it, we'll make love.
  9. Counterspy can get pretty hard later on, though. Some of the shit the randomiser throws at you is impossible to get through stealthily, I'm fairly sure.
  10. Me too! I just have to finish watch the New Japan Cup final and I'm free as a bird.
  11. I might stumble in drunk tomorrow night if people are online. I'll either ruin the heist or ascend into some kind of higher plain and handle everything perfectly.
  12. I'm enjoying it too, almost in spite of the analog controls though I haven't checked to see if you can change them. I'm also having a problem where I get through the first section and try to enter the door marked '2' but it's shut and the internet can't tell me why.
  13. Speaking of electronic bands that only had one release, Air France released No Way Down in 2008 and promptly did nothing until they broke up in 2012. I once woke up at 7 in the morning in Prague, put that on while walking around the Old Town and it was just perfect.
  14. I'm getting no luck in joining either. At least we'll always have that beautiful darts game
  15. I'm currently in the party but I've lost my headset somewhere so i can only communicate through gestures and dance for heists.
  16. The Monks is an interesting choice, a really good one actually. It's a bit weird and out there in it's very sixties way, so much different than anything...ever to be honest. But it never feels like noise for the sake of noise. The only thing I take issue with is "First punk album". The Sonics first album was released in 1965, where as this was released in 1966. It gets to be splitting hairs because depending on how you define a "punk" album, you might just say it was the Stooges, or you might just say it was the Ramones, or you might get crazy and decide it was Link Wray. Still, I love the Monks, great mention. I would say The Sonics are on the side of garage rock but yeah, deciding on the origins of genres is splitting hairs. It's just a catchy way to say it was pretty far ahead of it's time. It definitely has a punk, DIY spirit to it.
  17. Late to the Pier - Fantasy Black Channel was the first that came to mind but that's because I was listening to it last night. Set itself apart from that 2007/8 era "indie-rave-dance" whatever the fuck it was called at the time like Klaxons by having better hooks and better dance beats. Had some buzz at the time but soon fell off. Elle Milano - Acres of Dead Space Cadets is one of my favourite albums ever. Loud, riff-heavy with great choruses. Another disgrace that they didn't get the breakthrough that their early demos seemed to suggest. I'm not sure Jeff Buckley technically counts here because they packaged demos up and released them as an album but Grace should probably be mentioned as the only album he actually got to complete while he was alive and it's every bit as good as its reputation. American Football's S/T is also an amazing work with gorgeous sounding guitars. The La's S/T too. Really strong songwriting, had an amazing single off it and they never did anything further. Monks - Black Monk Time - American GI's stationed in Germany make the first punk album. I once heard it described as "The Monkees after returning from Vietnam and realising that peace and love is a crock of shit" The Millennium - Begin is a pitch perfect late 60s sunshine pop/psychedelic album with amazing production that sets it apart from other efforts at the time. They reign in a lot of the experimental tendencies that plagued other bands too which makes it a rarity of the time. This is a good thread idea and I'll probably be back.
  18. Yeah, I've went through some early missions to get samples and go about unlocking the mech/upgrading the UAV. Helldivers is awesome and I'm down for playing it all day today. PSN is A-NICE-HAT
  19. Shit, Rock Band 4 is the one thing I've been hoping for and I expected to have to wait until E3 to hear some kind of announcement but this is AWESOME. I bought all of my DLC on 360 and am now on PS3 but I'm not too concerned. From what I gather, they'll release "legacy" DLC out in chunks to the new systems and, when I think about the songs I actually played, I might save some money by just sticking with PS4 and redownloading what I want. Though I DO want to pick up an Xbox One at some point. It's only been about 12 hours but I'm already way too excited about this. I'm curious about how this is going to roll out. Since it's 'Rock Band 4', I'm assuming it'll be an on-disc release rather than a Singstar style download that you buy instruments for but the pricing of the instruments is what I'm interested in since my old stuff has long since fallen apart. If we're talking song wishlists, give me Uptown Funk or give me nothing.
  20. Anyone pick up HELLDIVERS? It seems like a cool premise but on your own, it's nowhere near as fun as it is multi.
  21. Ha, that's great. Since manuals don't exist anymore, I'm assuming that's a strategy guide for the game?!
  22. Shit, I'd be all over a new Rock Band but I have a PS4 and all my old songs (of which I have way too many) were bought on 360. I can't remember if there was some kind of overarching Harmonix account ala The Rockstar Social Club but, if those songs do carry over, I'd hate to miss out because I didn't stick with Microsoft right away.
  23. The Order has always seemed like a rental title to me but that's because I treat the majority of single player games that way these days. As it stands, shitty reviews or no, I'll have Boomerang send it, fire through it in a weekend and send it back. It looks really pretty but I wonder how long that can carry it.
  24. Man, I was enjoying Shadow of Mordor until the combat grew repetitive and it threw that terrible forced stealth mission on me so it can get in the bin. Also, US fellows, Child of Light is on sale this week and it's really good and you should buy it.
