Best Band of 2004

EUGH. I'll go with "Beasie Boys"

Best Album

Auf Der Maur is average, Beastie Boys is good (Not great though), Crossfade is good (Not great), Green Day sucks, The Streets... don't get me started on The Streets.

My vote is none, I vote Alkaline Trio - Good Mourning :shifty:. Seriously I'd go with Beastie's as they're easily the best.

Best Debut Album

I'm sorry, but I hate it when 2 debut albums clog up the best album chart (Crossfade I could cope with but not Auf Der Maur, it's not that good). Kanye West **shrugs**, not much of a rap man (Vanilla Ice and Coolio is about as rap as I get). This is a tough one between Kasabian and The Killers, I go with Kasabian.

Best Single

AAAAHHHHH. Breaking Benjamin are average, Green Day's new album is horrid, The Killers are good, Razorlight IMO are over-rated (But they are better than 3 of the other bands on this list), and The Streets, eugh. Somebody Told Me gets my pick (Even if Mr Brightside is better. Why no Muse? Jookie? Why no Muse, you could have fiddled the votes. Or Libertines? Where the fuck. This list is shite **goes off in huff**)

Breakthrough Artist

Pretty much summed up the rest before but Goldie Lookin' Chain. Seriously, why the hell does anybody like it? Is it funny? No. Are they good musicians? No. Where the hell is the facination. At least The Streets have some redeeming qualities (I actually like "Blinded by the Lights" or whatever it's called)

Best Video

Incubus - Meglomaniac

Best Solo Act

No Steve Vai makes me a sad panda. Erm, no one.

Best Live Act of 2004

The Killers by default, due to them being the only band I saw (I passed on Morrisey at Leeds, he bores me most of the time. Also despite having a ticket for CKY I didn't go, as I didn't want to go by myself (My mate was ill and no one would take his ticket)

Best Festival Moment

None, as I said I didn't see Morrisey. But still the Dillinger Escape Plan set at Leeds > *

Hero Of the Year

Beastie Boys

Villain of the Year

Pete Doherty

Outstanding Contribution to Music

Dunno, probably Morrisey even if he does bore me most of the time.

i find it hard to vote on annything, way to much stuff is missing, way to much total bullshit is in, and some awards don´t make sens at all (like best live and best moment) :pinch:

This clearly is laking The Mars Volta, you either should have put their last album in ore waited the few weeks untill the new one arives (wich ofcause will be forgotton next year wen thes awards come around)

*sigts* and i feel like it was only yesterday wen people started doing "best of year" awards 3 month before the year ended, it´s starting, AGAIN~!

Best Band of 2004

Beastie Boys

Franz Ferdinand

Green Day

The Killers

Maroon 5

Franz Ferdinand? FRANZ FERDINAND!? HOW CAN ANY BAND NAMED AFTER A FUCKING AMBASSADOR BE COOL? Or whatever he was. JESUS.

Best Album

Auf Der Maur 'Auf Der Maur'

Beastie Boys 'To the five boroughs'

Crossfade 'Crossfade'

Green Day 'American Idiot'

The Streets 'A Grand Don't Come For Free'

Haven't got it, heard all the songs though, more good than bad. The Streets just blow too. Cold & No Giving Up are the best.

Best Debut Album

Auf Der Maur 'Auf Der Maur'

Crossfade 'Crossfade'

Kanye West 'College Dropout'

Kasabian 'Kasabian'

The Killers 'Hot Fuss'

Kasabian sound pretty decent, gotta go with Crossfade though.

Best Single

Breaking Benjamin 'So Cold'

Green Day 'American Idiot'

The Killers 'Somebody Told Me'

Razorlight 'Golden Touch'

The Streets 'Dry Your Eyes'

Three decent songs there, So Cold, American Idiot & Golden Touch. So Cold scraped it, although if Break My Fall or Sooner or Later was on the list by Breaking Benjamin, it would have been a winner by a country mile.

Breakthrough Artist

Auf Der Maur

Breaking Benjamin

Franz Ferdinand

Goldie Lookin' Chain

Kanye West

Never heard of Auf Der Maur. Breaking Benjamin are just the best. Franz Ferdinand = shit. Goldie Lookin' Chain = one funny song. Kanye West = shit.
