Dane Cook, Ross Noble, Dave Hughes ... and to a lesser extent, Carl Barron.

Hughes is an Aussie comedian, he's pretty well known over here, but I dunno how much international exposure he has. Same with Barron.

I would venture to say that about half of the people that listen to Bill Hicks are turned off either due to the fact that it's not constant humor or by the fact that he's so confrontational. If people are able to see past the supposed gimmick of the "screamer" comedian, they're likely to find some very good philosophy (though some of it I do not condone, I do believe that he has very valid points concerning religion and the general hypocrisy of people in general.)

I've quoted Bill Hicks numerous times to my mother.
