DIC have apparantly agreed a deal to buy 49% of Gillett's share in Liverpool with Hicks getting the other 1% Hicks would have the controlling amount for the time being but DIC seem to think that it's only a matter of time before Hicks is forced to sell because he won't be able to match the money put up for the stadium/players etc. by DIC.

Fabio Aurelio may not play again this season after being ruled out for three weeks with a torn abductor muscle.

The Brazilian left-back was stretchered off in the second half of Tuesday's drawn Champions League semi-final against Chelsea following an innocuous challenge with Joe Cole.

Even if Liverpool do manage to get past Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next week, Aurelio would still face a race against time to be ready for the final on May 21.

Rafa Benitez said: "I have been talking with the doctor and with this kind of injury it usually takes a minimum of three weeks for the player to recover, so it will be very difficult for Fabio to play again this season.

"It is very disappointing because Fabio has been doing a good job for the team."

A real shame because he was doing so well. I think Finnan is fit (can't find anything to say he's not) so he could come in and Arbeloa can play Left Back perhaps.

Blame our medical team for that one. Instead of sending him off to get treated for his metetarsal injury they hoped it would heal on it's own. Three aborted comebacks later they then decided that, actually, sending him to a specialist would be a good idea.

Watching the Reserves play Aston Villa in the Reserves League Play-Off Final, and there are a few really exciting prospects coming through. Nemeth, Plessis, San Jose, Insua and Darby all look like excellent prospects. It doesn't seem like a typical reserves side, nearly all of them are really comfortable on the ball.

And to think that just a couple of years ago our 'high hopes' in the reserves were the likes of Mellor, Otsemobor, Walsh and Partridge.
