Anelka agrees Fener terms

Manchester City striker has agreed terms with Fenerbahce and is now set to complete his move to the Turkish outfit.

The Istanbul-based club revealed they had reached an accord with the French striker on Sunday night, and the transfer should now beat Monday's deadline.

The two clubs had settled on a fee of between £6-7 million earlier in the week allowing Anelka to travel to Turkey for talks on personal terms.

The 25-year-old will now undergo a medical on Monday and if, as expected, he comes through with no problems he will put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year deal - with an option of a further year.

Fenerbahce have been chasing the French striker throughout the transfer window and finally appear to have got their man.

"An agreement has been reached with French international forward Nicolas Anelka, following a deal with his club Manchester City," read a statement from the Turkish outfit.

"The France international is a Fenerbahce player for three and a half seasons plus an option of an extra year.

"The contract result is as the way our club wished, in fitting with our requests and principles.

"Anelka will arrive in Istanbul in the late hours of the evening."

Anelka has endured a turbulent career at The City of Manchester Stadium, despite finishing as top scorer for the past two seasons, having repeatedly spoken of his desire to move to a big club.

With City still owing Paris Saint Germain money on the deal that brought Anelka to the club in 2002, it appears they have decided to cut their losses on the former Arsenal ace.

Aston Villa have agreed a fee to buy Cameroon international Eric Djemba-Djemba from Manchester United.

Terms have been agreed and the 23-year-old midfielder is due at Villa Park later on Monday for a medical.

Djemba-Djemba joins David O'Leary's injury-hit side after just 18 months at Old Trafford.

He moved from Nantes in 2003 to be groomed as Roy Keane's eventual replacement, but has failed to impress manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Spurs have made an £8 million bid for Dawson and Reid. Lot of money for a couple of Championship players, but I hope it all works out well.

Tottenham have made an £8 million double bid for Andy Reid and Michael Dawson of Nottingham Forest.

The Championship club have confirmed they are considering the huge offer from White Hart Lane after previously accepting a bid of £3 million plus Darren Kenton and Brett Ormerod from Southampton.

Reid's first choice is believed to be a switch to long-term suitors Spurs, who almost signed him last summer but were unable to agree a fee with Forest.

Southampton boss Harry Redknapp admitted on Saturday that he expected the Republic of Ireland international to head for Spurs and the North Londoners have now followed up their bid for Dawson with a joint-package for both of the promising City Ground performers.

Central defender Dawson has also attracted attention from Charlton Athletic and other Premiership clubs but Spurs are stepping up the pressure on Forest to sell their prize assets.

Martin Jol and Frank Arnesen have been particularly active in the transfer market this month and the capture of Reid and Dawson would further strengthen Spurs' squad.

Guest Pirate Chasin' Booty

Apparently its a loan, had it been an actual signing, he'd of pretty much been making the worst mistake of his life, if you can stay in the premiership do it at all costs.

EDIT: Theres an option to buy after 6 months too.
