Seems its all blown over, but here's what I would have said if I could have been arsed. (I love that saying, thanks England!)

He's not a hypocrite. While I, personally, would have lost respect for him, as I would ANYONE who feels the need to 'wear their religion on their sleeve' and make it a well known fact, he wasn't a hypocrite, unless he continues to speak against his own beliefs.
