Oh, see, I thought it was a book as well, and the graphic novel was an adaptation. Because I've seen the adaptation for one of the Jedi Academy Trilogy books, Dark Apprentice it was I believe.

OK. I've read practically all of the EU Star Wars books, apart from the New Jedi Order ones and the prequel tie-ins.

My Favourites include:

Thrawn Trilogy- The closest we're likely to get to episodes 7-9. Star Destroyers, Space battles, lightsabers and the coolest baddies ever since Vader.

Truce at Bakura- Starts the DAY after ROTJ.

X-Wing series- Explores the lives of the star-fighter pilots of the new republic. Set in between 'Bakura' and the 'Thrawn' books. Inspired by the best-selling PC game. Features a lot of perifiral characters (Wedge Antillies, Akbar, Jansen, Hobbie.) also see the series of cool graphic novels.

Darksaber-pretty cool book. Good story.

I couldn't stand the Jedi Academy books. After the very serious style of writing that Timothy Zahn churns out, KJ Anderson's stories seemed a-bit like they were written for a 'young adult/ teen' audience. It's a shame as this is an important time in the Extended Universe series, Luke setting up the Jedi Academy that features in so many of the later stories.

Definatly check out the Rogue Squadron series. The only Star Wars books that I have read more than about three times. And they don't even have the main characters in!

I second that! I absolutely adore Darksaber! I've lost my copy of it, though, which infuriates me somewhat.

I echo the Thrawn Trilogy and Darksaber. I pick out Wraith Squadron and Iron First as my favourites in the X-Wing series.

I also add the Black Fleet Crisis Trilogy to that list.

I just read Star Wars: Tales #23 today, and one of the stories in it might be of interest to the people who've played Knights of the Old Republic.

Remember the 'Great Hunt' the Twi'lek tells you about on Dantooine? About the three Jedi (Duron Quel-Dromo, Shaela Nurr and Guun Han Saresh) who went out to eliminate the Terentatek? Well, the story covers their trip to Korriban, and explains their fate. It's a really good story, just thought I'd share that with people.

Could someone link me to/give me a list of the books that involve the Yuuzhan Vong storyline in chronological order? I want to get round to buying them, but Amazon doesn't help me in this respect. By the way, how is Yuuzhan Vong pronounced?

Oh, and is NJO a good place to start seriously venturing into the EU, or should I have another starting point?
