I thought about getting Rooney when I was first picking a team and I decided against it for a few reasons.

For a striker, you're not getting good value for money. He'll score goals this season but not at the level of others, given the fact that he's an entirely different player than the likes of Van Nistelrooy, Henry, etc. As the game will only really rewards strikers for goals, Rooney wouldn't be worth getting for work rate and perhaps assists alone. Then, there's a dilemma over whether of not Van Nistelrooy will return to form and thus be worth the money but thats another argument altogether.

Torn between the two, I've now settled for neither with my three mandatory United players being Van Der Saar, Heinze and Ronaldo. As a matter of fact, I've completely reset my team a few times finally settling (for now) with the following;

------------Van Der Saar----------------

Upson---Terry-----Boumsong---Heinze

-------------------------------------------

Ronaldo---Carrick----Berson---Kilbane

--------------------------------------------

------------Henry-----Defoe-------------

Subs: Carrol, Zamora, Mackay, Flitcroft

Decided to make Ronaldo my captain this morning rather than Van Der Sar on the opinion that he'd probably do great against Everton whereas the keeper would hardly be kept busy. You can only imagine how pissed I was when I found out that Ronaldo was rested/injured and that Van Der Sar played a blinder.

Just my luck also that Kilbane, who didn't miss a single game last season for Everton, was left out of the starting line-up and came on as an anonymous sub towards the end.

Top of the EWB league after match week 1 :) Doubt it'll stay that way for long.

Bugger.

Ledley King and all my subs, bar Jon Stead, are injured. Oh well, 3-4-3 it is.

You can make one free transfer per week. Just transfer a new player in for an injured player each week. Or use up some points and get them all changed.

Second place for me, but bear in mind Ferdinand, RVN and Van Der Sar have the Wigan game to catch up on later since it got postponed due to the Debrecen game. As well as Carragher since Liverpool have only played 2 games.
