The YOUTUBE thread

Is there any program that allows me to just download the audio off of YouTube? I'd like a few of these things as mp3s.

Thats what I was wondering, as there is some really good stuff here.

Ermm...maybe some kinda audio stream recording software would be the best place to start? I dunno, I'm not very good at this stuff.

More Mike Patton-based covers:

Fantomas covering Slayer. Absolutely superb.

It's a fan-made video, so not that great, but Fantomas covering the main theme from The Godfather, which is incredible.

Fantomas covering "Simply Beautiful" by Al Green.

The video's terrible quality, but the audio's alright....Mike Patton & Dillinger Escape Plan covering "Like I Love You" by Justin Timberlake

Faith No More covering "Glory Box" by Portishead.

Kraut "All Twisted"

This is one of the first video's released by a punk band, and one of the first from an independent band to get a regular rotation on MTV.

Kraut "Unemployed" and "Kill for Cash"

This a live show featuring two songs by Kraut, this is a 2001 reunion, and also showing that they still had it.

Rare footage of the Screamers. Great band, such a shame their music was never released commercially, they really had a unique sound for the punk era. They managed to capture the raw power of punk without using guitar or bass. Plus, Tomata, the lead singer preceeds John Cena with his "you can't see me" hand gesture.

Beastie Boys "Holy Snappers"

A very young punk group known as the Beastie Boys. This video is from 1982 and is well before their hip hop era, a good video for those not familiar with the Beastie Boys in their early days.

Johnny Thunders "Born to Lose"

This is why I love Johnny Thunders and New York in the late 1970s.

Far more meaningful now than when I first watched it....the late, great Nikki Sudden covering Johnny Thunders' "You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory".

1. It's annoying when they can't clap in time, but meh (when does he say it in that video anyway? Or is that jsut a general comment from you?)

2. you fucking legend, that Sound of Settling was recorded at the gig I went to! You can actually make out the back of my head at one point B) Chris was fucking around with that hat all night, couldn't decide whether he wanted to wear it or not. It'd be awesome if I could get the recording of The New Year when he fucks up the backing, was so funny. but yeah, DCFC rock live, if anyone ever gets the chance to see them , I highly recommend you go.

Yeah, Ben got pretty mad at the non-synced clapping cause it threw his timing off during Marching Bands. He didn't yell or anything, but he was sort of gesturing to the crowd to get them in time, and it didn't work.

Awesome gig, I loved every minute of it, and Vanderslice was a good support, although I haven't been able t find any YouTube content of him at Pompey.

Three of my favorite covers:

Fear Factory and Gary Numan - "Cars"

Coal Chamber and Ozzy - "Shock The Monkey"

Korn - "One" - From the MTV Icons Metallica tribute show

White Zombie - "Black Sunshine" - My favorite White Zombie song, although More Human Than Human comes close.....

Rob Zombie - "Return Of The Phantom Stranger" - Cool video; don't think it was ever released to MTV or anything, but its on the DVD that comes in the Rob Zombie - Past, Present and Future cd and DVD package. (I used to use it as the entrance theme to my main e-fed wrestler, and still would if I was e-fedding now)

L'arc-en-Ciel - "Ready Steady Go" (first Fullmetal Alchemist theme) - music video - I posted a live concert version in my previous post; this is the music video.

The greatest metal one hit wonder EVER. Seriously.

Dart Punk - "Robot Rock"

Orbital - "Doctor Who theme" (from a live concert) - Awesome
