I fucking hate whining about athletes and their paychecks. It's nothing new and nothing to complain about. Plus, it's fucking difficult to even get a decent paycheck in the NFL. You have to put your body on the line constantly and i'd like to see any average guy work as hard to stay in shape and perform well as they do.

I have to say, I'm really suprised that the Patriots have gone crazy this offseason signing people. I'm giddy that they signed Donte Stallworth, who was one player that I hoped they would have gotten in the draft a couple years ago. Him, combined with Wes Welker, Kelley Washington and Jabar Gaffney will give them size and speed. I can't wait.

So the Lions are in a good spot to make a trade on draft day. Apparently the Cleveland Browns owner is pushing hard for them to take a QB, by any means necessary. If Oakland takes Russel, and the Lions keep up with the Quinn smoke signals, they may just be able to trade with Cleveland.

It seems that Detroit is sitting in a great spot with the number two pick (funny how they were criticized for winning the last game and blowing the number 1 pick) with a barrage of calls coming in for the pick. Teams are looking at Calvin Johnson, Joe Thomas, and Brady Quinn as potential players to trade up for. The Lions are looking to stockpile picks, and hopefully pick up Gaines Adams, or move back further and go with a Patrick Willis or Laron Landry. Either way, this is the most excited I've been for a draft since 04, the year we fleeced Cleveland and managed to pick up Roy Williams and Kevin Jones. Should be a fun weekend.

The only way a Detriot-Cleveland trade happens is if the Raiders dont take Russell and even then I would say that it is pushing it that Cleveland does the deal. If the Browns take Russell, Quinn, Johnson, Peterson, or Thomas they would be ok IMO, so since they are drafting 3rd it would be pretty stupid I think if they trade up when they still have a choice of 3 good players to choose from.

Quinn or Russell. The Browns will take a QB since they got Jamal Lewis at RB. A trade with Detroit is very likely for these reasons alone. Detroit could even trade the third pick for someone wanting Calvin Johnson or Joe Thomas also. If Detroit is smart they're sitting on a gold mine, like San Diego was with the Vick pick a few years ago and the Manning pick as well.

Adrian Peterson, imo, will be available and drafted by the Browns. Lewis is only on a one year contract, and Peterson had a great pro day.

However, they could take Quinn/Thomas depending on who the Lions draft, and maybe take someone like Kenny Irons in another round.

Lions, probably looking at Quinn or Thomas. Raiders are 99.9% taking Russell at #1.

Where it gets interesting is if Detroit does indeed take Quinn and leaves Joe Thomas on the board. They might look at Lewis and say they have a year to wait on a running back and address it next off-season somehow and focus on getting OLine.

As for my Bears... they'll probably address WR, TE, OL with the first two picks. It really depends on who is available. This is such a deep draft at the WR position. They could take someone like Dwayne Jarrett if he falls, which is a possibility after the good pro days by people at other positions that moved them up the board, with everyone thinking, "WR is such a deep position we can wait till the second round", or someone like Sidney Rice will be there for Chicago. Ben Grubbs is another person they are looking at, some OLine depth there.. I wouldn't mind that pick. Or Aaron Sears. As for the TE position, after Olsens great ro day he moved up out of the reach of Chicago, and I'm not big on Zach Miller I'd perfer to wait and address the TE position next season or if in the 4th round someone like a Chandler from Iowa would happen to be there.

To quote Tom, lol America.

I shouldn't be so surprised, given that I have a younger brother and I don't like him one bit, but I'm still shocked that AD can be a pleasant person...while you're a douche. Congratulations, you're somehow more useless than Thomas - at least Thomas doesn't get into arguments before using "lol America" to back out of it.

That's not going to fix the problem. Rex Grossman does not belong in the pros, maybe in the AFL, but not in the NFL. The quicker he learns his place, the better.

Yes he does belong in the pros. All he needs to sort out is his inconsistency. When he plays well he's a decent QB. Sure, his poor performances may make you ask why he's in the NFL at all but he's shown he can be a good NFL QB, he just needs to do it more often.

From what i've gathered, Cato took so long to get signed because he wanted a lot. Which is funny because he didn't sign for much at all. He'll be a good player though, especially in the Bucs system.

It's true about Detroit sitting on a gold mine, but even if they keep the pick and grab Joe Thomas, I wont be too concerned. Marinelli has pretty close to free reign, and he really wants to build the defense, and offensive line. He's happy with our QB situation, so Quinn wont be the pick despite the mock drafts. But as I said, there are a few teams that would love to move up and get Quinn, Johnson, Thomas, or Peterson, so there's quite a few different trade options available. Even if Cleveland isn't the team, it could be Arizona for Thomas or somebody behind them wanting the WR or RB.

From ProFootballTalk.com...

PORTER, JONES IN BRAWL

Per numerous media reports, including the Las Vegas Review-Journal, newly-signed Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter was cited for misdemeanor battery on Sunday night after allegedly punching Bengals left tackle Levi Jones in the face.

The altercation started at a gaming table at the Palms casino.

Per an e-mail from a reader who claims to have witnessed the incident, "They started talking sh-t, Joey Porter saying he'll always be a Steeler. He showed off the Super Bowl ring and Jones got up to him, and Joey Porter pretty much kicked his ass . . . . Jones never got a shot in."

Of course, this means that the Dolphins will be getting three points in Turd Watch. And that we'll also have to figure out how to reset our "days without an arrest" back to zero.
