WWE '06 Raw and Smackdown by TGC and JHS

Okay, let’s get some feedback going here now that I’ve got everything I’ve got to do out of the way. Raw’s leading to Summerslam which means it needs a solid build, and it won’t be hard to capitalize on the situation of Hunter, Vince and Shane not being there, much like WWE should have.

-The whole start would have been a nice visual, but it still comes off good in writing. I could see the camera moving over to where Triple H should have been and him not being there, with the look of surprise on Shawn’s face. Would have been cool. So this begins the Diva Search. Still not sold on the remaining people left in it.

-Ouch. Seems like you booked yourself into the corner here, unless you’re booking like WWE would. Candice in DX seems like the right thing, specially if you take in the reality of the real life skits. Doesn’t seem to be the kind of woman that should be in the title scene though, but then again WWE has always booked the division like a joke. (See: Lita’s latest run). Well, at least she’s hotter than Chyna...or asia..or whatever her name was :pervert:

-Was that a real joke? Ah well, typical HBK overselling of his antics, which I always found hilarious. Oh wait, Candice isn’t in yet. Well damn. Ah well, can’t see Maria getting in after Candice just won the belt, so I’ll stick by my statement. I love the real life skits where they elude to Triple H being the father of the baby, and this one was quite funny as well. Not as funny as the real ones though, unfortunately. Liked Shawn going up the ramp and not stopping for two sets of people, only to have the riot squad stop him. Shawn Michaels against two women? Now Micky and Victoria are accomplished wrestlers, but come on!

-Okay, what is with the name? I know it wasn’t you, but Kelly Kelly Kelly? The only picture I ever seen of her was the one posted in the ring with her on the dressing table and her thong pulled down. Definite hot blonde bimbo type. Hopefully she’s not just another brainless diva. Japanese wrestling? The hell?

-You know you suck when Coach won’t even touch you. Poor Conway. I have a feeling that he will end up either coming close to winning, or actually winning, and then deciding he doesn’t need Coach. Or Coach will manage him. Okay, I’ve got nothing but at least I’m intrigued.

-Mystery man? Booker T? Please, for the love of god, if it’s Booker T, don’t give him the IC title. Carlito or Conway would make good guys to challenge, but please, no Booker T

-Strike Force McMahon? Well, they’re no Martel or Santana, so it’s good to add that last word in there. So it looks like they’re going to be the ones who get the push, or at least stick around for awhile. They still don’t interest me, even with the name change.

-Dreamer and Edge? Well damn. It was a nice match and the surprising victory came from Dreamer. Seems that you’re giving Edge a mean streak with his attack after, breaking the shovel over Dreamers head. Can’t understand what’s up with Foley though.

-God damn, it is Booker T. It’s got to be after that phone call. Wait, isn’t Val a face? What the hell is he doing going to someone like The Coach for guidance. Damn him. Damn him straight to hell. Ah well, I’ve always really liked Val despite his overdone porn star gimmick. Can’t see either of them getting the services now seeing as Booker is on his way to Raw.

-Dissension within the ranks of ECW? Looks like you’re going the same route as in real life with RVD wanting to be a wrestling champion, which is a good thing. Hoipefully you keep him fighting longer than the real WWE did. There could be some nice matches with RVD at the very top, plus it’s somone other than Edge and Cena in the main event. HAHA, RVD just let the cat out of the bag with his congrats. Damn, Heyman is a bastard, isn’t he? I love it.

-lmao, okay, I’ve got to say that I loved the tag team match. Not so much for the attack, but simply because Shawn pinned Mickie while trying not to touch anything he shouldn’t have. That was a great added touch.

-Well, hmm, Heyman didn’t exactly keep his cards hidden on that one, did he? Just continues to convince me that you’re going to give RVD a longer run because he’s simply taking too much of a beating to come out on the losing end in the match. He needs to somehow overcome the odds and defeat both men at the ppv.

-Well, I had a feeling that Cena was going to win this match, specially after Sandman winning the last one. Wasn’t a very long match, but I’ve learned that basic brawling matches are hard to keep interesting so using the commercial trick was a nice thing to add in here. Balls attacking Cena afterwards continues that little tryst, and actually makes it seem like Balls could be a major player, which is weird when you think about it, but still kind of cool. Heyman is making deals, and some are paying off while others aren’t paying off so much.

Overall it was a good show, but I wasn’t fond of the Women’s title being put on Candace, and I’m still not to keen on the Spirit Squad because by any other name, they are still The Spirit Squad. I’ll review Smackdown after work tonight so I can put some time into it as well.

Can I just start by saying... woah. I can't? Oh well.

I really enjoyed reading all of that. I just spent most of yesterday and today reading this in-between wrting my own show and you know, sleeping and eating. Honestly, I really enjoyed myself. I really, really enjoy your portrayal of D-X and everything on RAW and I am really enjoying the way that ECW are being injected into the WWE. I don't want to speculate too much but I feel Paul Heyman is up to something and hopefully I'm right.

Okay, so not really the most impressive of feedbacks... but I only posted that so that I could simply add...

Shelton Benjamin is the King of All Men, Women, Children and Animals... therefore he is GOD!!! And as God, Shelton should ascend to his thorn of greatness of WWE.

In otherwords... I'm a little excited your pushing Shelton Benjamin. w00p!

Okay, here we are to review Smackdown, and I'm looking forward to a good Smackdown show. Due to the way I come into a topic when I click, I already know some spoilers but I'm still going to type this as I read along, and reporting on those things as I get to them. Okay, here we go.

-Well, I like that you're actually giving Helms a personality. They seemed to forget him after he dropped The Hurricane gimmick and became a heel, which is sad because WCW Helms was probably my favourite person in the late stages of WCW, for what I saw of it. Seems that I was right last show for his challenger on this one. Let's see if I can guage the next cruiserweight. I'm going to go with, okay I've got nothing seeing as your other CW wrestlers are in the tag division. Helms shoot style promos are good, attacking the WWE for not caring about the CW wrestlers, and the crowd for not getting behind them. Slap to the face! Feel the heel heat. Ewww, not sure I liked the finish of this match, but oh well, another win for Helms which is all good.

-Khali's career over? Great! Undertaker not allowed in the building? Not so good! That battle royale just reeks of the Angle arrival awhile back when he won the title, but then that's kind of a spoiler seeing as I know what happens in the battle royale.

-As much as I don't like him, I'd love to see Juvi back in the ranks of The Mexicools. It just seems weird to have that team still together with the main focus of the team being gone. Three high flying wrestlers, and then the technical aspect of Guido should make this a good bout. Some nice writing, but one spot you didn't incorporate that I always liked was the one where someone lept at Guido and he quickly took them down with a Fujiwara. Also the Sicilian crab/camel clutch spot. So many different things, but this match was good as well, and Guido scoring the roll-up off a posing Psicosis. Works great.

-Okay, so it looks like Punk is going to be a face. Well, maybe, because the way these segments are being done, he could be either, especially with the fickle nature of the fans, and their love for the anti-authority.

-Jumpin' Jack Jackson? Reminds me of Jumpin' Joey Maggs. Anyone else remember him? Holly is back which is cool. I haven't seen him since his return so I don't know what kind of shape he's in, but for some reason, I always had a soft spot for Holly. Poor Jackson took a beating in this match. Always loved the aspect of them putting Holly over as a bully, which works very well, but I'd love to see him make a run for the U.S title. Lashley/Holly would be hard hitting.

-So Benoit is back in a managerial role, which means that I have a feeling that Benoit is going to turn on Scott, or Scott is going to turn on him which will lead Gunner to his first major feud, because let's face it, there is nothing major about him and Kennedy at this point.

-Well, to me it seems like 'Takers phenom gimmick is completely gone, which means his "Bad Ass" gimmick has returned. Not at all bad, and I love the visual of Undertaker still walking around with that big ass axe. Not sure where you're going with that segment though, but again, I'm intrigued.

-It's funny, because as much as I don't like watching the women's matches on Smackdown, feeling that they're nothing but eye candy, Lance Storm has stated in the Q&A section of his website that both Jillian Hall and Michelle McCool have become excellent wrestlers. Apparently they just hide it well when they're doing crap on Smackdown. COLE MADE A FAT JOKE!! I haven't seen JBL since summerslam so not sure if he's put on weight or not. You'd think that a tomboy would have more prowess in the ring, but Ashley doesn't seem to be getting that. Ah well, picks up the win in a meaingless match.

-Heel turn for Matt, feud with Jeff. Nah, don't think I'd buy that, but I don't want them teaming either so it's good that you're making that clear in this segment.

-Main event time, and it seems like Batista has drawn the short straw. No, wait, that's Jake Gymini who has drawn the short straw. Okay that was great, specially with JBL's instant replay comment. The Mark Henry/Batista eliminations were quite predictable, but that's okay because it keeps that feud going and as much as I've never liked Henry, this feud works well. Lazy bastard Benjamin is avoiding everyone. Damn him. Damn him to hell. Okay, enough running commentary there. Okay, even I loved the superkick while Hardy was trying to take off his shirt. I've always wanted to see something like that happen during one of those spots. Another nice spot with Noble as he eliminates London and then waits to get into the ring. Benjamin wins. Him and Rey could put on a good match, but damn it, it's Benjamin. UGH! No personality at all.

-It was a good show. The womens match was a throw away, not liking Benjamin but that has nothing to do with you and more to do with personal preference. Maybe you'll make me like him. Not sure. Benoit being back is nice, Taker is intriguing. Overall, this continues to be one of the best diaries on the board.

Thoughts on JHS's Great American Bash 2006 (7/23/06)

What I DID Like: I really liked the fact that Rey Mysterio was nowhere to be seen in the beginning of the pay-per-view. It adds some speculation to what's going on, if he will compete tonight, has he aligned with the extremists, etc. Good opening for the show.

The triangle tag match was the right match to go with to kick off the G.A.B. Some high-flying, fast-paced action always is a good start, although I question the sanity of blowing this match off already, unless you have bigger plans for the three teams. Nice, unique finish, that not only keeps the belts on your tag champions (they really didn't need to lose them just yet), but also creates an immediate contender for them in the Pitbulls. So far, I'm digging the show a lot.

CONTINUITY~! Nice to see you playing up on the "Where on Earth is Rey Mysterio?" thing, as well as involving other characters in it as well, like Jillian Hall & Rey's friend, Chavo Guerrero. Looks like you're going to go for the turn though, by the way that segment ended (Chavo ignoring Long).

Great match between Test & Gunner Scott. It was a garbage brawl really, but I like how you made Gunner not only a realistic opponent, but that you had him go over really strong as well. I have to say that I was surprised that Test would be his opponent.

SWERVE~! Good touch with Chavo Guerrero being in the ECW locker room the whole time, although I question the sanity of Theodore Long standing outside, banging on the door for so long. I like the way you write for Heyman, as while it's pretty simple, it's effective as well, and seems really like him.

I have to say, that you did a phenominal job with the United States title match. You hid both mens weaknesses, and showed their strengths off well. This was one of the few matches in a diary that I have EVER gotten into as if it was a real wrestling match, and was actually rooting for someone to win. ... yeah, I'm a bit crazy. Anyway, an awesome match, with either men realistically being able to go over. I just hope you go somewhere with this. Nice touch at the end, as well.

JBL: Start writing those get well emails now people. Captain Internet is about to crash.

As a Big Undertaker fan I'm interested in where you're going with his story. Love the Image of him with the axe, and him reverting to his ABA brutality when needed. Hopefully he'll still continue to be the 'Dead Man' though, just with a more brutal edge to him.

I'm also enjoying the portrayal of DX. 'Break it DOWN...' You've got the dialogue, especially Shawn Michaels, down. Loved the 'funniest religious joke' and how HBK is being the 'Straight man' to HHH's 'degenerate.'

Oh! And Jerry Lawler's appraisal of Kelly3 was hilarious. 'A stand out from Japan' :lmao: 'The Biggest thing since...Muta?' :lmao:

Kudos.

Keep it up.

Edit: And cheers for inspiring me to pick up EWR again. I havn't played it in AGES!

I'm guessing from the Val Venis segment, especially Coach's closing line of "Chief" after turning him down based on his name, we're going to see a Chief Morley comeback? Not too sure about that, I'd rather see Val Venis get pushed as Val Venis, not necessarily porn star Val Venis, but maybe cocky ladies' man Val Venis.
