I don't think rating your nominations does any good to the list. Unless there's more than 50 participants, everyone's #1 will reach the list. I don't think a show deserves a top 50 spot based on one voter.

I believe it should be more about how often a show is mentioned, not if it's a couple spots higher or not. After all, it is only top 10 or 15 shows you nominate - it's a small number and all shows there are probably pretty close to one another in quality. Also, I don't think one #1 spot is equally valuable to ten #10 spots. I mean, #10 out of all the thousands of shows is pretty good in itself and #10 is incredibly close to #1.

However, you could incorporate BOTH approaches and give points based on rank (reversed) and add in a 100 points. So #10 gets 101 points and #1 110. Or maybe just ten points. That way it's based on number of nominations, but ranking is still used in breaking ties.

Had to cut off a few from the last selection, and fit Robot Chicken in there. I decided I'd keep it it one Adult Swim show, and Robot Chicken won out. I didn't want it to be all comedy or kid's TV, but sadly that's all I really bother watching. Something like "Child Of Our Time" or <whatever age they're up to now>-Up should really make the list, as they are genuinely what television should be doing, but fuck it, Mark Heap launching himself in a wood-chipper aimed at his girlfriend's window wins out over legitimate science any day of the week.
