Heinze's an Argentinean with German and Italian parents, who speaks Welsh, played in Spain, Portugal, France and now England. Where does the Mexican come into it?

The Beckham rule, as I interpret is, is basically:

Because David Beckham expressed an interest (allegedly. I still think the interest was expressed for him) to end his career in the MLS as a player/coach type dealio, the MLS introduced a rule to allow that.

Now, everyone expects world class players to sign for the MLS teams just because they're allowed to. As if the salary cap was the only thing preventing it, and not because of mundane reasons like the league being largely shit.
