Signature Songs

You guys have some of the strangest choices.

Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet With Butterfly Wings or Disarm

RHCP - Give it Away

Disturbed - Down with the Sickness

Weezer - Buddy Holly

The Killers - Somebody Told Me

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven (absolutely no debate whatsoever)

KISS - The only argument against Rock n Roll All Nite would be Detroit Rock City

Deftones - My Own Summer

Pantera - Walk

Nine Inch Nails - Closer (again, no debate)

System of a Down - Chop Suey

Dead Kennedys - Holiday in Cambodia

Audioslave - Like a Stone (which was the biggest hit on the first album despite what someone earlier said)

Rage Against the Machine - Bulls on Parade

Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun

Stone Temple Pilots - Plush

Sum 41 - Fat Lip

Pearl Jam - Jeremy

AC/DC - Highway to Hell

Mars Volta - The Widow

Coheed - The Suffering

Slipknot - Duality

Just a few of the ones I see a lot of debate going on for, again, some of you guys had some weird ass choices.

Slipknot - People=Shit (People associates that song to Slipknot more than any others because of the 'controversial' song title)

Strapping Young Lad - Oh My Fucking God or All Hail The New Flesh

Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face

Satyricon - Mother North

Lamb Of God - 11th Hour

That's all I really have. Most of the other bands I listen to don't really have a signature song.

I'd have to contest "The Killers" as "Mr. Brightside" would be the song around here when it comes to them.

I'd rather go with some of these for already mentioned artists:

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain

Prince - When Doves Cry or 1999

Strapping Young Lad - Devour

And for others:

The Blood Brothers - Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck

Brand New - The Quiet Things That No-one Ever Knows

Daft Punk - Around The World

Faithless - We Come One

Hot Hot Heat - Bandages

Morrissey - Suedehead

Pixies - Debaser

Portishead - Glory Box

Pulp - Common People

Silverchair - Ana's Song

Personally I'd say "Salva Mea" for Faithless, I fucking love that song. But from an 'everybody' standpoint is has to be "Insomnia". Whilst people will more than likely know "God Is A DJ" and "We Come One", EVERYBODY knows "Insomnia". The riff is right up their with one of the most recognisable riffs ever, IMO.

"Virtual Insanity" by Jamiroquai...some of the singles off of "A Funk Odyssey" could be argued (Or maybe "Canned Heat"), but none of them really have the individual magnitude of awesomeness that VI does....and I don't really like "Deeper Underground".

"The Sound Of Settling" by Death Cab For Cutie...the 'catchiest' DCFC song. Far from their 'best', but a great song. Awesome to sing along too. Ended their set (Pre-Encore) when I saw them, and everyone went apeshit for it.

"Golden Touch" by Razorlight...this next comment will possibly alienate me from a lot of people here...one of the few CLASSIC songs I can think of from modern times.

"Superman" by Goldfinger...how shite are these motherfuckers now? Proof that being a vegan makes you a pussy (See...Rise Against....Propagandhi are naturally the exception to this rule...and seems to have stolen all of the balls from the rest of the vegan bands).

"16 Millitary Wives" by The Decemberists...just a fucking immense song.

Having looked back on some of the older ones, people would seriously chose Back 2 School for Deftones over Shove It (My Own Summer)? Hmmm...weird.

Also, Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

New Order - Blue Monday

My Dying Bride - The Cry Of Mankind

I'll think of some more when I can be bothered.

Second that vote for I Heard It Through The Grapevine.

Killswitch Engage would be "Rose Of Sharyn"....I guess.

No way José, it's "The End of Heartache" or nothing at all :P

I'm with Liam on this one. Rose of Sharyn is THE Killswitch song.

Part of me wishes it was neither and more people appreciated "My Last Serenade", but meh :P
