Gogol Bordello are good. I remember seeing them on Jools Holland and fell in love with them.

Also trying to figure out if I actually like this;

http://www.myspace.com/ttttttttttttttttttttt

I had to download it, purely for the randomness of the band name.

Listening to the song "Dnttakemy Wingzz Away" by Islands. It's cool. Though they should totally have more of the carribean styled stuff on the new album. Me and Small Blue demand it.

Guest REENGAYLAND!!!

It's not indie, but thanks to YI, I've been listenin' to Hella more than The Mars Volta. <_<

hahahahaaa...they're definately growers. "The Ungratefull Dead" especially is a really good song.

Okay...indie'ness...."The Besnard Lakes Are The Dark Horse" is definately a great release. The new Panda Bear is great too....erm....must think of elitist stuff....erm......DAMN!!!

Besnard Lakes also tick the whole "Canadian Band" quota of l33t'ness, but I haven't seen them get any hype, but it must be happening somewhere, you god damn shilling/whoring Canadians must be doing it somewhere.

Did you hear the EP they released in January, I think? It had awesome live versions of their other songs. Cool stuff.

I'll also pimp the following.

- Eastern Conference Champions. I don't think their album is properly out but they have this melodic indie feel to them and they're fantastic.

- The Vandelles. A cross of punk, beach rock, and general darkness. Their EP is pretty bitching and I can't wait for the ac tual album.

No, didn't hear the EP. Might have to give it a download.

And if Ringy can pimp, so can I;

Piano Magic - UK based, been around for year, though I admit I've only really heard of them. Very bittersweet. A great mix of post rock/electro/experimental/indie, and musically even coming across as very baroque inspired in places. The stuff so beautiful. The male and female vocal harmonies are amazing. It's so beautiful, but at the same time it's the kind of music you could most probably kill yourself to. :shifty: -

Maserati - A great experimental/instrumental band that I've been into for a while now. Just put out a new album, which is top notch stuff. -

The Swellers - A real fun punk-rock band. The album material isn't as good as their EP they put out a while back, but it's harder to maintain quality over more tracks. Reminds me a lot of Good Riddance in their hey-day, which is always good. You want some fun, upbeat music, this is where you should go. -

I'm sure I had loads more stuff to pimp...damnit. And none of it's anywhere near l33t enough. :(

Actually, here's another one.

Rebelation - A ska/reggae band from NORFOLK!!! Enough said. - http://www.myspace.com/rebelationuk

Speaking of Elitist, there's a few bands that I've seen EVERYBODY on here worship. Examples would be Death Cab, Coheed and Mars Volta. Recommend me some more that EVERYBODY on here loves, as all these have been dead on so far.

I think I made Nerf listen to them before. I don't think he liked. :(

Also, The Most Serene Republic are excellent. I love this thread for making me listen to good music again.

Sing it now!

Tom Waits? Tom Waits. Tom Waits! Tom Waits Tom Waits Tom Waits.

Now that's out of the way, everybody should listen to "Romantic And Square Is Hip And Aware", it's a Matinee Records tribute to The Smiths, and it's fantastic. The Lucksmiths covering "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" as a duet with the girly out of Architecture In Helsinki? Bloody brilliant. The rest of it's alright, too.

Check them out too. By "them", I mean "Pray", the song they did with Tom Waits. Wonderful wonderful noisestuffs.

Stars, Apostle of Hustle, Metric, Phoenix, TV on the Radio, The Fratellis, Dirty Pretty Things and I have to concur with the Broken Social Scene/Feist love. That's some of the stuff I've been listening to for the past while.

EDIT: Tokyo Police Club are also really good, they'd be great if their songs were a bit longer and had more depth but they're pretty good.
