Am I the only one that thinks (admittedly after only ever hearing the one song in the link posted earlier) that Townes Van Zandt really cannot sing at all? It sounds like the lyrics and the tune (what little tune there is) were forced together against their wills. Sure, it's a sad song, but it's nothing Cobain or countless others didn't sing about. And they sang about it, not wailed in a cracked, whiny voice that gives me a headache, while strumming a guitar seemingly at random. My favourite bit has to be the last bit.

That sounds like you're putting down the performance, rather than the man physically dying lol. But yeah, I think he was getting pretty weak about then, I saw somewhere that he was forgetting lyrics and whatnot?

I echo a lot of the names in this thread, Reznor, Cobain, Cash in particular.

Surprised at the lack of Eddie Vedder love. Always puts so much emotion into his songs.

Fuck another one I forgot... though one quam I have with Vedder is that sometimes, his singing is TOO mumbly, head to Youtube and search for the misheard lyrics of Yellow Ledbetter... awesome.
