Dinner: Impossible probably getting a new star

NEW YORK (AP) - After rising to culinary stardom preparing impossible meals on his Food Network series, Robert Irvine has met an obstacle his kitchen prowess couldn't overcome - an embellished resume.

The star of "Dinner: Impossible" has acknowledged fabricating some of the more fantastic parts of his resume, including having cooked for Britain's Royal Family and various U.S. presidents.

Following the revelations, the network announced it would not renew Irvine's contract, though it would air the remaining episodes of the current season, the series' fourth.

"I was wrong to exaggerate in statements related to my experiences in the White House and the Royal Family," Irvine said in a written statement. "I am truly sorry for misleading people and misstating the facts."

The Food Network said it might revisit its decision at the end of this season, but for now would begin searching for a new host for the series, which challenged Irvine to cook under arduous conditions.

"We rely on the trust that our viewers have in the accuracy of the information we present, and Robert challenged that trust," the network said in a written release.

Irvine, who is from England, first acknowledged the fabrications in a Feb. 17 story in the St. Petersburg Times.

I'm seriously disappointed, as Dinner: Impossible is my third favorite Food Network show (behind Good Eats and Iron Chef America), and I like Robert Irvine, but if he lied about his background and resume, I have no problem with them letting him go......as long as his replacement isn't Bobby Flay or Emeril Lagasse. Bobby Flay has too many series (I do watch Throwdown, though), and I'm more than sick of Emeril....BAM! indeed.

I watching a lot of the Food Network. The Canadian version, though. I don't know how much different it is. I assume we get the same shows, except a lot later than in the States. As for as I know, Dinner: Impossible has only been on for one season in Canada.

But yeah, I love the Food Network. I remember a comedian saying watching the channel stoned is like watching porn. Or it might have been the Food Network is like porn for fat people. Or maybe I've heard both, but I will definitely agree with the first one. We still get reruns of 30 Minute Meals in Canada and Rachel Ray makes the greatest munchies I've ever seen. Plus, she was pretty hot back then.

Tyler Florence's show, Tyler's Ultimate, is by far my favorite, though.

Food Network is awesome, but I've recently discovered the travel channel and the fucking awesomeness that is Bizzare foods with Andrew Zimmerman and No Reservations with Antony Bordaine. Not to mention the fucking greatest thing ever, Ramsay Gordon's Kitchen Nightmares on BBC.

I'm a huge fan of Good Eats , Unwrapped , Iron Chef America. I liked the premise behind Dinner Impossible but Irvine seems like a dick to me in most of the episodes.

Bizzare foods with Andrew Zimmerman is an awesome show. How he eats some of the things he does I'll never know.

I used to watch Food Network regularly, then they took off Iron Chef. Now, not so much. :)

I love Gordon Ramsay. It tastes like baby vomit!

Gordon Ramsay is The Man. :) I've prob'ly seen every episode of Kitchen Nightmares that's been aired on BBC America so far. Excellent show.
