Scarlett Johansson's "Anywhere I Lay My Head"

It's leaked, which I guess is about 3 weeks before the release date. It's her cover album of Tom Waits material, with backing vocals by David Bowie, and an original tune.

I'm off to find it now. I know a few people were interested in this, so I thought I'd post it up.

Really? Because her artist MySpace page says it was written by Sitek & Johansson.

Ten tracks are covers of songs written by Tom Waits (many of them in collaboration with his wife Kathleen Brennan). The remaining song is an original, written by Johansson and Sitek.

I've heard the leaked versions of Fannin Street and Anywhere I Lay My Head.

The latter is particularly horrible.

As I said in YI's Corner; Anywhere I Lay My Head sounds like Eurythmics, Falling Down sounds like an Arcade Fire B-Side. Not heard anything else yet...kind of set back my unreasonably high expectations of the album, though.

I had high expectations because I love Tom Waits, and he endorsed said album, and David Bowie sang on it, and the only song I'd heard Johansson sing before was "Summertime", and I for some reason expected this to be a fairly jazz-y showtunes-y affair, which would've been lovely.

I must have misread the article I picked up that information in. It said something along the lines of: Anywhere I Lay My Head features four songs written by Tom Waits, six songs written by Tom Waits and Brennan, and one original composition, "Song for Jo."

Upon review that could suggest that that original is by Johansson.
