Were any Spurs fans at the game last night and see the all the Poles in the home ends? I was in the North Upper and it looked like it was gonna get very nasty and it kicked off in my end and the East Stand when Krakow equalised. The Poles were also offering fights and throwing things, and the Old Bill weren't even throwing them out, they said they'd get involved if we got involved first. Police officers? Condoning hooliganism? Endangering public safety because they couldn't be arsed to throw the bastards out? Shining behaviour from the Old Bill at football once again. Kicked off before the game as well according to members of a Spurs forum I go on, apparently members of Tottenham's very large Polish community were winding up Spurs fans before the games and ended up getting a kicking. Why the club were letting fans blatantly wearing Krakow shirts into the home ends is beyond me. An absolute disgrace, and very intimidating. I would complain to the club about their excellent handling of the situation but quite frankly whats the point? They got their money, why should they care that 600 or so of Krakow's "hardcore support" were let through into the Park Lane and Shelfside, why should they care that little children were in tears in the North Upper because of the threat of violence?

Now I'm not one for the "Football Factory mentality" bullshit, but I would have gladly seen them all get a kicking last night, breathtaking arrogance from the bastards waltzing into our ground in massive groups, intimidating our fans and causing violence. But then, at the risk of sounding racist, there all over the place in Tottenham, probably should have expected as much.

Anyway back to football, which I should have been able to concentrate on yesterday, we've got to play better out there or I can see us going out. Bentley was cack all game, what the hell has happened to his delivery?! Dos Santos disappointed from the start again (seems he usually only shows any promise when brought on). MOTM definitly O'Hara, (which says something about how good we were when it was a 2nd half sub) came on and endedup controlling the midfield. Campbell also came on and looked promising, I just can't fully get behind him knowing that in all honesty that if hes any good he'll go back to Man U.King still doesn't look fully fit to me, but we've managed to get 4 games out of 5 from him, this season, so things are looking up I suppose. Hopefully we can get three points at the weekend and kick-start our season. But I think I've said that about every game this season with the exception of chelsea.....

Getting a touch of the Sergei Rebrov there, are you?

I really rate O'Hara and Bale and am a bit worried that they may get buried by some of the 'exciting new stars' we've brought in over the summer.

Personally while we're struggling to bond as a new team I'd rather the majority of the work was given to O'Hara, Bale, Jenas etc while the new guys were bedded in a little.

It's strange, I've edited the Tottenham team in Pro Evo 08 to add the new players and even though statistically the team are better they don't bond very well in the game - just like real life really...

Finally another Spurs fan who seems to rate O'Hara, everyone else who sits near me thinks hes your loveable gets stuck in but can't really play type of player. I really rate him and last season when played in cM he was fantastic. Getting stuck out on the left didn't help him though. I fear though that with all the new players coming in midfield, plus with Jenas and amazingly Zokora in front of him he'll leave come the end of this season and that the new contract he recieved was purely to ensure we recievced a sizeable fee.

I watched O'Hara play for Millwall against Bristol Rovers last season and there and then I said he's a top class player. I rate the guy so much. I would love for Tottenham to loan him out to gain more experience. I would love it to be Bristol Rovers, but I reckons a top class Championship side would work well too.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'll take a rebound of the referee's arm at the moment.

We're through to the Group Stages - more matches to use to improve! Yay!

Also, two up front, us playing relatively well, Ramos up on his feet shouting orders. Excellence.

It was more Bent up front with Campbell and Lennon playing either side really, but it was good to see two 'strikers' on at the same time. The first half was terribly boring but I thought we looked good at the beginning of the second. Then we turned back into EPL Spurs and scraped through. Gomes was pretty good when needed today.

2108: Schome bad news for ex-England manager Schteve McClaren as his FC Twente side have gone out of the Uefa Cup, despite a 1-0 win at home to Rennes. They exit 2-2 on the away goals rule.

So let me get this straight...

Rennes 2 - 1 FC Twente

FC Twente 1 - 0 Rennes

Rennes go through on away goals?! o_O

Edit:

2118: It seems that the information I was handed about Schteve McClaren was complete nonschensch. They have gone through on the away goals rule, not gone out.

Jesus. I thought I was going insane.
