GOOOOOOOAAAAAL!

Hard to narrow it down to just one but if I had to choose, I'd say this classic from Cantona:

 I was going to post that. That's my favourite goal ever. I just love the obscene display of bravado in his celebration. It's like "Yes, I just did that. What of it?" True classic.

Since you posted that, I'll post this, and to be honest I can't believe it hasn't been put up yet. It's insane.

Rooney vs Newcastle ...and you probably already know which one I mean. The view from behind is particularly superb.

Most celebrated?

In all honesty I wouldn't be surprised if http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=De6Wqg0GAWk Lennon's last minute equaliser against Arsenal.

So it was only 1 point but still. I'd gotten up at 4:30am to watch it, we were on the back of our first victory of the season. Arsenal was Harry's first game in charge - it meant a lot for any momentum. I'd gone mental at the Bentley goal, watched in depression for the rest of the game until the last five minutes. It was an emotional rollercoaster, added to by the fact that it was so early in the morning and I was shattered. Lennon scored and I went totally crazy.

Other celebrated goals?

Woodgate's Carling Cup winner. I'd been working that day so we had the radio on at work. As we left work Spurs were losing 1-0. Three of us drove to the pub, got a pint, Berbatov scored the penalty and so we watch on nervously and then Woodgate's goal goes in and the 30% of the pub that were supporting Tottenham went totally crazy. It HAD been a long time since our last trophy.

Gascoigne's freekick against Arsenal in the FA Cup Final - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GVMaIUSeRxA

When Spurs beat Chelsea 2-1 to record our first win over them in years and years.

Also, my local team is Gillingham. The local pub at uni was showing the Division 2 playoff final between Gillingham and Wigan in 2000. There were about six of us there watching it - three of us Gillingham fans, a Wigan fan, my girlfriend at the time and the barman.

Gillingham went 1-0 up, Wigan equalised right at the end to make it 1-1. Extra time and Wigan scored in the first half to go 2-1 and then Gillingham scored two in the second half of extra time to win 3-2 and I went totally mental, dancing around the place. Genius.

About 1.30 in, Matt Le Tissier. The best part about it is that a lot of goals from this range come across as more hit and hope than anything (stand up, Bentley vs Arsenal >_>), but it was almost as if Le Tissier placed this over the top of the keeper and into the corner. Sublime, and easily the best goal from where I stand.

I do also remember trying to replicate the Yeboah strikes down the park one Saturday, so I guess they rank quite highly with me.

As for goals I celebrated, has to be Gazza's against Scotland. Boa Morte's vs Chelsea a close second, although the ball was kicked onto him, so it doesn't rate as highly, only for it being the only goal in a 1-0 win >_>

Reilly wins for the Bergkamp goal, but I was never sure if I preferred that one or this one against Leicester http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SFPJU8LaNfw

Matt LeTissier was so totally amazing....and dedicated to one club as well. Too good to not have been an England regular.

I remember the freekick where he flicked it up and volleyed it in. Just so great.

He was perhaps England's most talented attacking player - true he didn't defend or work some of the time but you can't get a better luxury player than him. The goal against Newcastle was sublime as well. I scored a vaguely similar goal once (flicked it up over a player, flicked it round another player on the bounce and slotted it past the keeper on the half volley) and I went totally, crazily mental.

Celebrated

Carlos Edwards vs. Burnley. Match is 2-2, near the end of the match and near the end of the season. Roy Keane has took us from the bottom of the Championship to the brink of promotion - with this goal we win 3-2 and effectively cement promotion back to the top flight of English football. Just meant so much to me, I was jumping around the house going absolutely crazy. Bare in mind I do that whenever we score in every match, but this was about ten times more bouncy, more screamy and more emotional for me. Will probably always remember this goal and always remember Carlos Edwards for it as well.

We gain possession essentially at our by-line. Hysen passes to Murphy, he brings it downfield plays it along to Edwards and he powers one home. The sound of the ball actually leaving his boot makes it all the more spectacular for me.

Favourite Goal

My favourite player of all time, Djalminha from Deportivo de la Coruna. The whole thing is essentially a compilation of some of his goals and some of his great plays as he was more a play maker than anything but there was one goal that really stands out for in this at 3:07 - the freekick. It's only there for about 2-3 seconds but I just love it for some reason. Right on the edge of the box on the corner of the 'D' and he just rifles it in the corner. I think I like it it because it wasn't a traditional over the wall and in kind of goal - he just hammered it at the 'keepers top corner and scored it.

Also the goal at 3:34 is also fantastic. You see it earlier on in the clips but that's a better angle of the goal. Something just magical about the goal and his style of play in general for me.

If none of them are to your liking you should have seen my goal for Denton Holme U15's or whatever against Castletown in the County Cup. My last goal for the club in the teams last game in the Sunday league, ball got rolled back to me (wasn't passed back - our striker was halved and rightly so, the creedy cunt) and I just curled it in the bottom corner. That or my goal for Morton Manor like.. U10's against Silloth when I smashed the ball from the edge of the box and it cannoned off the bottom of the crossbar and went in. My two favourite goals ever, the second one I was actually reminded about the other week by a lad 8 years after it happened - so it must have had a lasting impression. <_<

Yeah, funny that. >_>

Top, top goal however.
