I know I'm getting out of touch with the music world when I can only recognise about 3 of the bands (Duran Duran, MGMT and Soulwax) and one cameo appearence (John Frushowyouspellit) ¬_¬

But should at least provide us with two or three good covers... even though I've already got an awesome Bowie tribute CD for free in a magazine (with King Crimson covering 'Heroes' :D )

Carla Bruni is the first lady of France, and has a smokey jazz chanteuse career on the side.

I'm pretty sure Duran Duran have covered "Boys Keep Swinging" in the past, though I may be delusional. Vivian Girls are nice enough, but can't imagine them being able to do anything special with a Bowie song. Keren Ann will almost certainly give the ubiquitous lo-fi acoustic indie treatment to "Life On Mars", which doesn't need it, A Place To Bury Strangers could do alright with "Suffragette City", that's about the only track on there I'm especially interested to hear so far - at least until I find out what MGMT are doing, they could have a fun go at some '80s Bowie.

I'll probably check it out, as the Bowie obsessive that I am, but I'm not expecting anything spectacular - tribute albums rarely are.
