Mass Effect 2

I use the hot keys a lot (handy for quickly putting ammo powers on weapons and just to Warp/Incinerate everybody into oblivion) along with the wheel itself, and it doesn't seem to matter either way. Sometimes it decides it counts, most of the time it doesn't. I've gotten towards the achievements with both ways, still don't have them yet, but yeah.

Found out it's easier to just make your partner do it for you though, got more that way than anything else. Weaken the enemy's shield/barrier/whatever down, let your partner destroy it (You have to command them to do it though, otherwise it doesn't count), then finish them off. Works a treat.

Just beat it minutes ago. Fuccckkkk was that good. The tease for Mass Effect 3 was absolutely insane.

Decided Zaeed would escort the survivors back, knowing he would probably die because of it. Considering I was playing as a Paragon through and through, I had no reason to go through with his plans in his Loyalty mission, so he wasn't loyal to me anyway. I found him virtually useless, so although it sucked to lose someone, I didn't really care it was him.

HOWEVER, Mordin died for no fucking reason. After I had defeated the Reaper larva (which looked like a ginormous Terminator, by the way) the cutscene was of me and my team running back to the Normandy, and apparently Mordin had died on the way back to the ship. :(

Oh yeah, and I'm playing as a chick. I hadn't decided who I was gonna fuck before the final mission, and forgot about it, so the game decided Jacob for me. I actually was planning on any dude but Jacob just for shits, really.

Now you need to play again and try for

The Kelly `romance'. (Its not considered a real romance and you have to continue after the suicide mission to see it happen)

As for Mordin dying, I hear of that happening alot; someone at another board complained about that, too. Funny, because I've played the suicide mission several times and have never had him die.

And I think anyone can lead the crew back to the ship, as long as they are loyal.

Not really considering this is exactly what I was doing, and it only registered like, three times.

Fair enough. Guess it's just totally random then.

Had to replay 1 again so I am a bit behind but the game just implied I could hook up with Garrus. Garrus?!? Really? Seems weird to me.

Along with some of the new team members, Garrus and Tali are both romance options for Shepard in ME2 (opposite sex Shepards; no gay/lesbian options in ME2...except Kelly, technically). Tali's romance storyline is interesting, and well written, but I'm going to save you the suspense and disappointment; you don't get to see her face or skin. And all the romance scenes in the game are for the most part more toned down than in the first game. I don't think we'll ever get to see what Quarians look like unmasked, but if we do it won't be until ME3. (Because I doubt they'd do it as DLC)

In ME1, the only romance options are Kaidan and Ashley (opposite sex) and Liara (either sex, as Asari swing both ways).

Romance options in ME2:

Female Shepard:

Jacob

Garrus

Thane

Male Shepard:

Jack

Miranda

Tali

Samara shoots Shepard down if Shepard tries to start a romance with her.

Both sexes (technically NOT a romance (but funny as heck), and the end scene doesn't happen until after the suicide mission...if you go for this option and continue after the end):

Kelly Chambers (better damn well be an actual romance option in ME3!)

Totally not. I went with Liara in the first one. Garrus just seems more like a brother or a best friend I guess.

I've done all the romances (including Kelly) except Thane, because I haven't run enough female characters to do that one and because I find the idea of female Shepard hooking up with him weirder than hooking up with Garrus - even if you don't include the fact that Thane is dying - in the first place.

Secret romance option:

If you do Samara's loyalty mission and go renegade, killing her in favour of her daughter (I forget her name) you can romance the daughter. With an instant game-over afterwards >_>

^ Morinth. Didn't know that though. Probably because I always take Samara.

Anyway, a Hammerhead Video Preview is up now.

Looks like it will be great fun.

And somebody went through their Mass Effect 2 (PC) Files and found this:

Awesome. Not the person who I wanted for DLC (Kal'Reegar :( ), but yeah, Liara will be fun. Don't see her being released until after the comics are done though.

... and speaking of DLC, anybody know when Kasumi is being released?

No word on when Kasumi is being released. All I know is we're getting some sort of new heavy weapon this month, with the Hammerhead pack coming sometime around the end of the month.

Frankly, a new heavy weapon is a waste. Anyone who pre-ordered from Gamestop (like me) probably uses the Blackstorm as their heavy weapon 90% of the time, with the Collector Particle Beam and M90 Cain being used the rest, and those other two weapons (and maybe the Missile Launcher) are probably used the most by everyone else. (I swear the Avalanche is next to useless)

I like the one that's a nuke....sucks that you only get one shot outta it though <_<

That's the M90 Cain, and its an overkill weapon. You can almost, but not quite, one-shot the final boss with it. I'm not sure, but I think if you get all the heavy ammo upgrades you can get enough to be able to fire it twice.

However, the Blackstorm Projector, which you only got if you pre-ordered from Gamestop, is freakin' SAWEEEET! Its basically a cross between Incendiary Ammo, Pull, Singularity AND Toss. (It tosses enemies near it into the air and holds them there as it sets them on fire before sucking them in as it explodes - will kill anything short of a fully armored Krogan, which will either be dead or close to it at the end) Should be the heavy weapon of choice during the Archangel recruitment mission (for the balcony fight and the biggest room during the shutter closing part) and Tali's loyalty missions if you have access to it. Also comes in handy for the Mordin recruitment mission, but isn't really necessary if you take Jacob along. I'm not sure what the max # of shots you can get with the Blackstorm once you've got all the heavy ammo upgrades is, but I know its at least 8.

Oh, and for those who didn't pre-order from Gamestop, the Terminus Armor pretty much sucks. Its next to useless after you do Omega.

This game has been one of the best I have played in a while. I felt what any Captain would have on their shoulders going into battle. I felt responsible for each and every single one of them.

The game has been a good one and the choices you make that can affect things kept me into this game. Building relationships, getting upgrades and doing naff all in the game has made me love it.

But the pressure on the shoulders of myself in this game. I have never felt it at all before in any other game and I don't think I will again. Until Mass Effect 3. :shifty:

Anyway the ending for me.

Yeah I thought my squad would be ready for battle. How wrong I was in the end.

I should have got more upgrades for them. But I lost three good soldiers out in the field.

R.I.P Jack, Garrus and Mordin. Long live the happy missions we had and I'll miss you. Until I play the game again.

A stupid edit of Mordin and why he must have a pervy freaky smile on his face all the time. I love Mordin. It's a shame you can't romance him. Think of the fun then with him talking too fast.

[Will spoil a scene for Miranda's romance sex scene]

I agree that I hope it's not a whole new squad on Mass Effect 3. Would be good to keep some of the loyal members from this game and import them. Also if Wrex did survive on Mass Effect. I would like to see him join the team again on Mass Effect 3.

Also on one of the side missions or main ones. I came across a point where it went like Mass Effect kind of like a Geth beacon or something and got some kind of weird flashback or scene. Did anyone get this? and what does it mean? and does it change each time with a different character and what actions you have done?
