Wait, you mean he accepted responsibility for his role in the debacle instead of passing the blame to an easy scapegoat? Tom Coughlin could learn a lot from him. Watch the video, Dodge had to jump for the ball. That's a botched snap, and HTTK is exactly right.

Watch the clip....he aimed for the sideline. I've been watching him punt all season long and he's sucked all year long. People criticizing Coughlin for yelling at Dodge are idiots. I have no problem with him tearing into him considering he's backed him up all year long when people have been calling for his head. In the press conference Coughlin accepted responsibility for the loss.

The easy scapegoat? Dodge is one of the easy scapegoats. He's a damn punter. His job is to come into the game 4-5 times a game and do his job. He didn't do it....and as previously mentioned it wasn't the first time either. Cutting him this week would have been the right move. It is a hell of a risk they are taking going into a must win game with him still on the team.

It's a hell of a risk going into a must-win game with a defense that doesn't realize there is sixty minutes in a game and not fifty.

Please suggest a way to completely overhaul the defense in week 16 of a season. The defense can't be replaced. The punter can be.

Cowboys put Romo on the IR. All the talk of him possibly coming up back this year made no sense to begin with. Why risk hurting him in meaningless games?

The fact the game was resting on the punter is the fault of everybody BUT the punter.

You can't. But they're why the Midgets lost. Not the punter.

Even with how bad that defense played that game should have been in overtime.

Steelers got phantom first down vs Jets.

That's where our P.O.V.'s of this argument are differing. At 31-31, yes it should have gone to overtime. My point is it should have never gotten to 31-31. The Giants defense had an epic collapse and lost that game. That punt should not have had the game on the line in the first place.

Well it didn't affect the game since they lost, but yeah it was a terrible spot, and not the only one. There were 3 that looked measureable or short that they were given straight up.

And Dodge aimed for the sideline after leaping in the air to catch a ball that could have easily sailed over his head. You're saying the snap wasn't an issue when it very clearly was. The blame for that loss should be coaching staff first, defense second, special teams third.

Edit: Oh, and Manningham, let's not forget Manningham.

Suggest a way to overhaul the defense in week 16 ? Ok, TACKLING DRILLS because apparently Coughlin doesn't do them in practice.

Or, maybe coach your special teams ... I mean the long snapper a couple years ago and now the punter ? Coughlin is the HC and his main job is quality control. There's apparently none of that with the NY special teams, and that falls directly on Coughlin.

Also, LOL nobody showing up for the Eli presser.

Seriously, I could care less what Rex's wife is doing.

Yup, eventhough it is them it is not a big deal to me. He wasn't doing anything illegal and he wasn't with another woman. I fully expect him to mess around with the media one of these days and come to a press conference barefoot.
