Young English talent like John Ruddy isn't cheap you know. Good on Kenny.

The British policy guy was sacked before Kenny was :P

I was going to go to bed but then the guardian posted an article titled "Aston Villa manager" that simply says..

This story has been taken down as it breached an embargo. It will be relaunched at 11pm 17 May.

Now I need to stay up for a few minutes just out of curiosity. Probably just pop back saying "We dunno who it'll be yet."

I read The Guardian an hour ago, and they had put up a short article about Solksjaer, it's not there atm, so maybe it was just that.

Same article they'd put up.

He's on the shortlist, not met yet or spoke yet (despite Randy Lerner's private jet landing in the town he lives today...) and his family are settled so he might not want to leave yet. Essentially nonsense.

Then you'd assume a plane wouldn't have jetted over to his home town. Last time the guy told us news on Lener's plane, it'd been to Corsica.. Where Eck was on holiday.

Molde have, appaz, confirmed our interest. Said it's been over two days, and they're willing to negotiate. Lerner's plane is ready to leave Norway now and come back. No word if Gunnar is on board, but some people expect it to be confirmed today.

Molde Football Club is aware of interest and contact from Aston Villa, and is aware that Aston Villa and Ole Gunnar Solskjær are talking together.

Sky Sports sources understand Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has turned down an approach from Liverpool over their managerial vacancy.

The Reds sacked Kenny Dalglish on Wednesday after a disappointing season that resulted in their worst league finish for 18 years.

Owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have already made an approach for Wigan boss Roberto Martinez but appear keen to interview other candidates as they search for the right man.

But it seems that won't be Rodgers, after the Northern Irishman rejected the opportunity to speak to FSG.

The 39-year-old guided the Swans to 11th in their debut Premier League season, earning many plaudits for the team's attractive style of play.

I suppose it all comes down to who the other 10 or 11 are, but it looks like they're going about it the right way looking at Rodgers and Martinez, young managers who know the English game and play good football. No doubt the RAWK crowd, if they've got the capacity to consider a new manager yet, will be outraged such small names are connected but never mind.

SSN showing lots of Munich stuff, very jealous, lovely place. Wheres next years Europa Final, you know for when Newcastle are there? :shifty:

Makes sense for Rodgers to stay because if he didn't get the job and all of Swansea knew he'd tried to leave it would maybe be a bit uncomfortable. That, and of course, he is manager of the Barcelona of the Valleys/Swansealona etc.

Its a strange one really, because any other time taking the Liverpool job would be a no-brainer, but now? Will a manager coming in be given the resources Kenny had? If not you're looking at a squad that will be competing around the position that they're already in, the Europa spots with an outside chance of Champions League, and is that enough for the board? Someone like Rodgers who's built a reputation at Swansea after struggling to find work could be in and out within a year, and no amount of compensation would be worth it for the impact on a relatively young managerial career.

Thats not to say FSG would do that, but there must be uncertainty. Also, if you're thinking about taking the job, don't read RAWK.
