I think, seeing how much money the ownership of the Red Sox has made, McCourt knew he was in a good selling position. The Dodgers will be worth plenty more in the coming years, their stadium is a goldmine.

Oh, and I'd definitely like to see DMN's thoughts on this. I'm in agreement with Meac that he's probably a very happy guy.

Since no one else has mentioned it, it looks like the Reds gave Votto a 10 year/$225 million extension. It seems the monopoly money contracts are the last thing to return in the post 'roids era. Cain and Votto just don't seem like the guys I'd break the bank for, but that could just be because I'm a Mets fan and we're shopping with coupons for free agents <_<

So the Rangers have a new two foot long hot dog at the concession stand this year. I've been to a few stadiums, but haven't seen anything as crazy as that.

How about the Strasburger?

I'll be picking that up at the Nats home opener on April 12.

Also, the Votto contract is hilarious. He's worth so much less, but I guess credit goes to his agent for working this out right after the two best 1B in the game got two mammoth contracts. The Cain contract is not as bad, but still bad. As I said, all that does is guarantee Lincecum will be pitching in the AL East for around $750,000 a start.

These aren't new... the Rangers all ate them before the last two World Series. It's no wonder they choked.
