I feel all we need in another strong full back who can play on both sides . We dont need Jenas . Brown , Mendes , Carrick , Davids , Huddlestone , Davis , Tanio. We dont need him .

Keano , Defoe And Mido with the likes of El Hamoudi , Yeates , Slabber and Malcom to be on the bench we dont need no-one

Chelsea scored a controversial but comfortable 2-0 victory over 10-man Spurs as they strengthened their grip at the top of the Premiership.

A first-half header from Asier del Horno and a second-half effort from Damien Duff made it 12 points from four games this season for the champions.

Tottenham were fuming after striker Mido was sent off in the first half, while Michael Essien escaped with a yellow card for bringing down Edgar Davids.

But in truth Chelsea more than deserved their victory and Tottenham created very little.

The first half could hardly have been more contentious, however, and referee Rob Styles walked down the White Hart Lane tunnel with boos ringing in his ears.

His first major decision came after 21 minutes when Davids was callously hacked down off the ball as he hared towards the penalty area on a Tottenham break-away.

The crowd expected a red card and a penalty but instead they saw Essien only booked and a free-kick awarded on the edge of the area.

Tottenham wasted the free-kick and were left fuming five minutes later when Styles finally remembered where his red card was kept, and brandished it at Spurs striker Mido.

The Egyptian was accused of leading with his elbow as he challenged Del Horno in the 25th minute, leaving the Chelsea left-back writhing on the floor in agony.

Television replays showed that there was contact but arguments still raged over whether it was deliberate.

Without Mido on the field Tottenham, who had made a bright start to the match and gone close through Jermain Defoe, lost their way.

Davids had been outstanding in the opening stages but could do nothing to prevent Chelsea taking the lead after 39 minutes.

It was a simple goal, a Frank Lampard corner finding del Horno 12 yards out and he sent a looping header into the opposite corner of the net.

William Gallas followed the ball in, but his diving attempt to get the last touch made no difference and del Horno was credited with the goal.

Frustrated Tottenham brought on Aaron Lennon at half-time in place of Teemu Tainio but Chelsea very rarely give away a one-goal lead, especially against 10 men, and never looked like doing so this time.

It was just a matter of Chelsea passing the ball around at the back after that, frustrating the White Hart Lane crowd and killing the game as a spectacle.

Tottenham have not beaten Chelsea in a league match since 1990 and have never recorded a Premiership victory against them, so this was always going to be a tough one for them.

But they continued to battle and appealed for a penalty when Lennon was bundled off the ball after a fine run.

Joe Cole was booked, and lucky not to see red, for a studs-up challenge on Stephen Kelly and Chelsea brought on Shaun Wright-Phillips in his place as the atmosphere really heated up after 63 minutes.

Andy Reid was booked for dissent as yet another decision went against the home team, and Davids was also cautioned.

Chelsea brought on Hernan Crespo after 67 minutes and within seconds he almost turned home a cross from close range, only being denied by Paul Robinson - who also saved Wright-Phillips' follow-up.

And they wrapped up victory with a fine second after 71 minutes when Wright-Phillips left Kelly for dead down the right wing and crossed for Duff to acrobatically turn the ball into the net.

The final shot was almost certainly mis-hit but the end result was definitive.

Tottenham coach Martin Jol said: "It was a frustrating afternoon for us but I'm so proud of the lads because you can easily lose a game like this four or five nil, but they kept on fighting and digging in and really tried to play."

The Dutchman was unhappy about Mido's dismissal and added: "The red card killed the game. I don't think he deserved it. If the striker is coming from the flanks, you try to protect yourself, you try to be brave. He was too enthusiastic.

"The referee maybe thought it was a bit dangerous, so give him a yellow card. But he gave red, straight off.

"Mido is apologising to everybody and saying he didn't do it with intention. He would never do that with intention and he never elbowed anybody anyway.

"It's all right with me, I can accept it. But it still was frustrating because it killed the game off for us and we had a feeling that we could do something today.

"The referee's explanation was dangerous play, not even an elbow but dangerous play. I didn't speak to the referee afterwards and I can't do anything about it anyway.

"Another referee gives you a yellow card for the Mido incident and maybe a red card for them for the challenge on Davids. It's all in the game."

Jose Mourinho disagreed with Jol's assessment that Mido's red card changed the course of the game.

He said: "Of course people will talk about 11 against 10 but sometimes 11 players don't beat the 10. It's easy to do it if you do it properly.

"I said to the players at half-time you have to play exactly the same. Attack the same way, defend the same way, same concentration and pace of the game.

"We don't want to try to beat them 4-0 because this is not hockey, this is football. We wanted three points and emotional control. So I think my team played very, very serious."

Of the dismissal, he added: "As for Mido, maybe it was a red card but I think Mido is the right man to say if it was intentional, if he meant to hurt the player or not .It's something very private, very personal."

Mourinho continued: "We had massive possession of the ball, a lot of control and I think our midfield triangle is playing very, very safe and very intelligent. We were very solid and I don't remember Petr Cech making saves, only one free-kick from Carrick in the last minute of the first half.

"Everything was under control. We didn't attack much, but I didn't want us to. I just wanted to control the game and wait for the chances. That's what we did."

Now I was there, and that was worse than the reffing last week >_>

Mido gets sent off for what? And then a Chelsea defender does the exact same thing later on and doesn't get penalised! Davids hacked down. Red card for a last man foul? No, only a yellow! Rob Styles gave shoddy decisions everywhere. I wonder how much Roman paid him?

To be fair, Chelsea did deserve the win. Cech played well as usual but SWP made an incredible impact.

Jol should have made another change on 70 minutes or around there. 10 men against 11 of the worlds best... and the ref >_>, Defoe looked knackered, Keane could have played. No wait, he should have kept Defoe on, and take off Gardener for Keane, and switched Keane and Dawson around (Dawson played Ledley's striker role for the final 10 minutes :P)

Best Chants: After Drogba missingdiving 'WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!'

Looking forwards to the Livrerpool game now, Dunno what he will do for a third striker with Mido suspended...

It was a piss poor game, well what I saw of it, collapsed mid -way through the second half and find myself rushed to North Middlesex flipping hospital :( Later get told final score by the club doctor (who happened to be the hospital heart specialist) was 2 - 0 after the ball seemed to hit the Chelsea players hand. Lanky has second minor heart attack of day

Mido's sending off was just a plain joke and the best part of the joke is because he protested he was inocent (which he is) and took his time leaving the field , it decreases his chances off getting the ban lifted . FA > Peter Kay . Hillarious , how do they think 'em up ?

So we waste our money on trouble-maker Jenas who can't fit into our team, and buy some Korean left back Lee Young-Pyo, Grzegorz Rasiak from Derby and sell Erik Edman! Why the hell did we sell Edman?! That guy was great and had a fantastic future at Spurs!

I'm in a foul mood today, we've also loaned out Reto Ziegler.

Jenas is scum, a nasty piece of work who causes strife in the changing room, is badly behaved off the pitch and isn't as great as he thinks he is.

NOT the sort of player we want.
