Am sitting on a decent whack of Amazon vouchers, fancy buying some music. This is the section of £5 or under CDs.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some stuff that I really should have in my collection?

Don't know if you've already got some of these, but I'm a big fan of the following on there. I'd assume you'd have the first Arctic Monkeys album (if not, buy that).

Given To The Wild by The Maccabees

What Have You Heard About The Vaccines by The Vaccines

I Speak Because I Can by Laura Marling

Eschewing all the David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Simon & Garfunkel stuff which you should naturally check out, I compiled a little list off of what I saw on the first 125 pages. It includes albums I've listened to myself from artists that I like and I think you should check out if you want to expand your musical horizon. It has a little bit of everything, I think.

Robert Johnson - The Complete Recordings

Miles Davis - In A Silent Way

Seasick Steve - You Can't Teach An Old Dog New Tricks

Roxy Music - For Your Pleasure

Captain Beefheart - Safe As Milk

PJ Harvey - To Bring You My Love

Ornette Coleman - The Shape of Jazz to Come

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium

Black Sabbath - Master of Reality

A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory

Sleigh Bells - Treats

Wolfmother - Wolfmother

The Cure - Seventeen Seconds

Tom Waits - Small Change

Soft Machine - The Soft Machine

Dave Brubeck - The Dave Brubeck Quartet At Carnegie Hall

Syd Barrett - Madcap Laughs

The Very Best of Roy Orbison! It's a particularly good "Best Of", and he is wonderful.

Also good CDs on this list;

"Kind Of Blue" by Miles Davis

"Lady's Bridge" by Richard Hawley

"Hunky Dory" by David Bowie

And I can't be bothered reading any further than that.

Cheers for the suggestions so far guys.

Out of the suggestions, I already have The Mars Volta and Miles Davis 'Kind of Blue', but nothing else. Was going to pick up Roy Orbison already, Skum.

More suggestions welcome.

Litany - Vader

The Very Best Of Roy Orbison - Roy Orbison

Lady's Bridge - Richard Hawley

For Your Pleasure - Roxy Music

Safe As Milk - Captain Beefheart & His Magic

Rumours - Fleetwood Mac

Good News For People Who Love Bad News - Modest Mouse

That is my order.

Oh, and already have both of those Mars Volta albums, so wouldn't have needed the other one either.
