Urgh, The Smiths. Their only contribution was writing awful, depressing, cliché lyrics that for some reason people (Jouzy) think are genius.

Really?

And yeah, Motley Crue suck, yet you love them, and we let you love them. Leave The Smiths alone.

I am mocked relentlessly for liking Motley Crue! :P

Rudie and White Man are awfully good. Despite what i said about the Clash before, I never tire of those two.

Anyway...my five:

Beatles at #1. Really obvious, but I cant see past them. The other four? Let's say the Rolling Stones, the Smiths, David Bowie & the Who. These aren't necessarily my favourites - I've tried to be a bit objective, and all five have certainly made a meaningful and lasting contribution.

Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Cream are vastly important and also deserve a mention.

Man, Deep Purple had some really cool shit in the early 70s. Black Night, Speed King, and Fireball are great heavy acid rock jams, I love that type of shit from the late 60s and early 70s. Or Space Trucking? It just makes you want to do drugs. Well maybe not you, but other people.
