EWR 2013 Stats Update: February ***PLEASE USE SPOILER TAGS***

Recommended Posts

Going to be honest, if we are going to add untrained backyarders, I am dubious of anyone having a stat above the 40s. Do you have videos of these guys that demonstrate these stats? -Disagree with lowering Wade Barrett's brawl and charisma. -Check Booker for Robbie Brookside. He is an affiliated trainer with WWE, perhaps put him on an open contract with him since he still takes indy dates? Raise his brawl to 32 and overness to 39. -Lower RJ Brewer's overness to 41. -Lower Saturyne's speed to 54 and stiffness to 31. Raise her overness to 33. -Remove Derek Sabato from Chikara. Raise his talent to 59. -Add Zach Burns to CZW. -Remove Michael Pancoast from CZW. Check Booker. Bill, just wondering, what are waiting for to remove Joey Mercury from the worker list and add him as a trainer? He hasn't appeared on TV in years.
Sorry fusion but this IS valid. I fully agree that realistically. Backyarders should not have stats above 40, including charisma. Most backyarders are not trained, and do this on their own. I think they should be in the game, and overness of 0-3 at the most, but stats under 40 makes sense.

Thanks as always Bill!

Miscellaneous changes:

Add tag team of Benjamin Boone & N8 Mattson, "Sons of Michigan," 4 exp, active

Change Matthew Justice's primary finisher to "Throes of Rejection" (impact)

Change Sami Callihan's short name to Callihan

I've been watching some of PRIME Wrestling's stuff lately and, while a good number of their workers are already in the game (especially their bigger names, some of whom are from ROH or CHIKARA), I thought I'd add some of those that are missing. I might go to a convention next month hosted by NY Capital Region's In Your Face Wrestling and eventually might do stats for some of their people too. It'll be an ongoing process but here's a few to start with (I'm something of a stats newbie, my only previous worker contribution being Hale Collins, so if anybody wants to polish any of these up feel free)...

Awesome! I'm terrible at stats and have used Prime a couple times. They get some pretty big names for a smaller promotion. Any chance you can do stats for another promotion- IZW based out of Oklahoma? I'm not sure how many aren't in the game.

It doesn't matter if you believe me or the stats I gave them..and it surely doesn't matter if they've had training or not, the stats I gave them is the appropriate stats they deserve. Don't start an argument, just watch the damn videos of them on YouTube.

While I admit I haven't watched the videos, I think something people are forgetting is that if you feel the stats are too high, then offer you own stats. It does no good just saying they are too high without giving your thoughts on what they should be.

As for someone making an earlier statement that backyarders can't have decent stats, I think that's not true. I think you can have decent stats, just not everyone. I think its like an inverted version of bodybuilders being assigned to FCW and given inflated stats. I bet a lot of backyarders could have better stats then some FCW guys, especially ones with no prior wrestling expierience. Like I stated earlier if someone disputes it then provide stats. In the end I think it comes down to the person suggesting the stats. If you like the guy you might be more inclined to give him better stats then if you hated him or was indifferent. A good example could be Zack Ryder. I don't really think he has improved much since his Major Brothers days (with exception to charisma and overness). Some might say he has improved vastly.

A few TNA changes.

Raise Austin Aries's overness to 86, Bobby Roode is 89 which I think is deserved but I don't believe Austin Aries is that far behind him.

I don't know if this has been mentioned already but add a Tag Team between Roode and Aries?

Raise Christopher Daniels overness to 82 as I believe he is more over than Devon.

Make Magnus Face and boost his overness to 75-76.

A few WWE changes.

Raise Antonio Cesaro's overness to 82

Raise Chris Jericho's overness to 98

Lower CM Punk's overness to 98

Lower Cody Rhodes overness to 83

Raise Jesse James's overness to 80

Lower Kane's overness to 90 or 91

Lower Kofi Kingston's overness to 85

Switch Mark Henry and Christian's overness maybe or just increase Henry's

Lower Mr.McMahon's overness to 95

Raise Paul Heyman's overness to 90

Lower Rey Mysterio's overness to 86

Lower Shawn Michaels overness to 97

Lower Sheamus overness to 92-93

Open to discussion.

Its in the Jan thread.... And while i admit i havent watched them, i still cannot think they, or any backyarder, is deserving of high stats, or anything above 40. If they did, theyd be wrestling for real promotions. Nobody is a wrestling God who can put on five star classics with no training. End of story.

Professional wrestling is comparable to military combat. With the complexities of what lies in the field, there is a glass ceiling of ability that you cannot pass without professional training. Without it, you are a danger to yourself and your teammates.

It takes trained professionals years to hone and craft their skill, after being trained by veterans who have been doing it even longer. Why would kids in a backyard have equal to or better skill sets? Just because they can copy moves they've seen on TV or DVDs doesn't mean they can string them together in a coherent way. Wrestling is what occurs in between moves. And that isn't something you can absorb through a television or in the backyard with your friends.
